Has good stability and an easy initial setup process
We use the solution for remote access control and endpoint protection features The solution has the best remote access control and protection features. They should provide intermediate device limit options. It would be helpful for users who require more remote control capabilities than the lower…

Responsive support, a straightforward setup, and great endpoint management
We are one of the first users of the cloud base. Mainly it's to manage Windows 10 endpoints. The main challenge for us back then was we had Intune. However, it's not granular enough to some extent, and it doesn't do third-party application updates.  We use Desktop Central to do the third-party…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a scalable solution."
"I would not want to tell other companies about it because it is so powerful, it does so much, and it makes me look so good."
"Using the product, we provide a quicker response when supporting customers."
"No issues with stability. It has worked on every platform I’ve tried it on, and not interfered with anything."
"LogMeIn Central allows numerous active clients, say... 50, to use licenses for remotely accessing a computer from home, taking advantage of all the solution's built-in security features."
"I like being able to dial in and transfer files for updates."
"The ability to manipulate and do things to the computer and file manager, then boot to safe mode, and see what is going on and track alerts. I use it all."
"It’s enabled me to remotely do updates to servers and workstations in off-hours – without needing to travel into the office. Makes my life much easier."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the threats and patches element of it. We have done quite a lot of testing compared to other vendors with identifying the vulnerabilities. This means a lot more accuracy in terms of the patches and making sure it's all up to date."
"Easy to manage and it looks good."
"The interface is intuitive, easy to use, and has a low learning curve."
"The solution is easy to understand. For example, when you remoting to the user's system, you don't have that option to only log in. On this product, you are connecting to the user's computer, it prompts you for what you want to do. You can select that you want to assist the user. The user on the other side will receive a prompt stating that there is someone trying to connect to your system, they can accept or decline the connection. Overall, the solution is easy to connect to the user's system."
"The most valuable feature was the patching system to apply Windows or other programs and the ability to install operating systems in computers using the network. Additionally, it is easy to use."
"The endpoint management is great."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP has different features and it uses one agent to execute the features of the application. In this case, the remote control, distribution software, deployment, patch management, and configuration in different systems. ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP has multi-platforms. They have recently implemented new features, such as endpoint security that incorporates vulnerability management and browser security."

Cons

"The initial load is terribly slow and often has delays with the login page loading."
"The update issues are an absolute pain. It says it is updating things, but the updates do not go through, and you try your hardest to get the updates to go through and they don't. You go to the PC, but there is no update there, then you go back and it says there are updates."
"It's not really a true RMM product but more of just a remote access."
"LogMeIn Rescue could be made a lot easier where you could just tell the person where to go and log in, and they could just log in. Or even make it simpler where you could just send a file to a person and they would click on it; just something easier. The way they have it right now, it's not easy."
"File transfer on the free version needs improvement. Allow file transfer with drag and drop to and from Remote Desktop. "
"I have had issues where LogMeIn has not been useful, then we have not been able to work that day. This happens probably two or three times a year."
"There are some screens that are just ugly and difficult to manipulate."
"Sometimes it just fails to load."
"Since this is an on-premise solution we had to update it a couple of times, and because we needed to use a command line to the server, it was not very easy, at least at that time to update the solution. The cloud version of this solution does not have this problem, but on the premise version, it was fairly cumbersome to apply to the Desktop Central server. This process could be made easier. This was the only issue I found with my colleague."
"Stability is sometimes negatively affected by updates."
"When there is a new user at a store, for example, you have to create it in the ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP AD but the process could be better. They call us with the user's information but if it was possible for them to populate the information when they log the user on IM, and when clicking on ADManager in the system, the information could populate there. We would then only have to add a little more information which would save time."
"I have found ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP has many different network issues. Additionally, they need to incorporate more features, they are lacking add-ons."
"Although they say it is an enterprise solution, we don't have 24/seven human support. All we have is only 24/five support available from the vendor."
"The partnership models and subscriptions can be improved, as regional master resellers sometimes hog the space."
"Right now, ManageEngine is a separate solution. It doesn't integrate with Intune, AirWatch, or MobileIron in the cloud."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's probably worth the value, but the price increases over the last five years are getting harder to justify."
"Having to spend so much money on remote access is what I feel to be a necessary evil."
"We went with it for pricing reasons, that it was the biggest bang for our buck, by combining the ability to have a central security console, as well as a central point for user administration."
"It really is an expensive product for me."
"Pricing is a little on the expensive side, compared to what TeamViewer has offered."
"It is a little pricey. I have more than five seats, so I pay a $1000/year."
"The only thing I found is that they've gotten very, very expensive over the years. I started out with about about 100 users on it. Two years ago it was about $600 for 100 users. Now, it's that price for 25 users."
"It's getting more expensive and we are starting to evaluate other products. It's starting to become unaffordable."
"This product has an easy setup, good support, and a good price."
"This product is very cheap compared to others."
"When we sold the solution to one customer, we found out the customer found out that one of their requirements was not being solved because the license only applies to five computers. We all thought at the time the current license that the customer bought covers the 600 computers because of this problem, the license model could be explained better and could be further improved."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central MSP is a less expensive solution than competitors in Latin America."
