Helps find vulnerabilities, reduces response time to critical vulnerabilities, and reduces false alerts
The vulnerability assessment is great. We can use it to fix all the vulnerabilities before we get them from our internal security team. It reduces a lot of false alerts. We have an option for a manual fix and an automatic fix. It clearly distinguishes what can be done by an automatic fix, which the tool can do, and what needs manual intervention. The tool gives us the steps to fix it. The automated vulnerability fixes, test deployment of patches, and the baselines are valuable. We can set a baseline or whatever we recommend and ensure the systems adhere to the baseline. The solution helps us figure out vulnerabilities and fix them. It's not an active threat-hunting tool. We use the asset management capabilities in our service desk platform. It is really good. It is beneficial since we can fix vulnerabilities. The reporting feature has helped us in compliance and risk management. We can have custom reports. I can schedule reports. We must find baselines and accordingly use them to fix some of our requirements. The solution has reduced our response time to critical vulnerabilities. We have a patching window. The tool has enabled us to get all our machines in a compliant state.

A security solution for vulnerability assessment with automated scans
Additional costs are associated with using the solution, as additional scanners are required for different endpoints connected to the Tenable Security Center. If Tenable Security Center could extract information from these scanners automatically rather than manually, it would enhance user-friendliness for customers. For example, suppose I manually conducted CIS hardening or compliance scoring in a separate data centre. These scores should also be reflected in the Tenable Security Center dashboard. Since the scanner is connected to the Tenable Security Center, the dashboard should display the direct scan results from the general security centre and the connected scanners. There could be unusual activities or attacks with the rising AI-related issues or threats that the Tenable Security Center could track in the future.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution helps us figure out vulnerabilities and fix them."
"The product is our second solution, and we are happy that it meets our requirements."
"Their overall cost of service is pretty good."
"It basically reviews our threat landscape vulnerability."
"The most valuable features of Tenable SC are scanning, reporting, dashboards, and automation."
"The most valuable features of Tenable SC are the reports and the dashboards."
"Feature-wise, Tenable Security Center is a very fast tool with many dashboards and reports, and it covers all our systems."
"It is a very good and user-friendly product."
"Tenable SC's most valuable features are the low number of false positives and the strong capability of providing prioritization for the vulnerabilities detected."

Cons

"The user interface is the only drawback of the product."
"The vulnerability scan does not work correctly until the access privileges are set by the system administrator."
"I will say it's a lot slower compared to an MS scan. It takes so much longer, so the performance could definitely be worked on."
"There's a lot of information being streamed out of the reports. What would be nice, and maybe we just haven't found it, would be more of an executive-type view. We still expect it to collect all this information, but we would like a feature that would allow us to show it to an executive or a director or someone like that and give them some type of high-level overview but not get into the nitty-gritty."
"The web application is not very functional."
"We would like to see the inclusion of external IPs and simplified reporting that's easier to deal with"
"Tenable SC can improve by adding more integrations with HCI-type tools and more accurate vulnerability detection."
"The reporting side can be improved. The dashboards are nice, but exporting things out for reports for management was a little tough."
"Tenable SC can improve by making it easier to create complicated reports and have more effectiveness in the remediation area for comparison between the scans."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is very reasonable."
"The tool costs around 15,000 Saudi riyals monthly."
"Tenable SC is priced per asset, with the basic solution starting around US$12,000 for 500 assets."
"For 500 users the licensing fee is roughly $100,000."
"We pay around 60,000 on a yearly basis."
"The tool provides competitive pricing."
"I use a local license to perform penetration testing and I'm pretty happy with everything when it comes to pricing and licensing."
"We're happy with the licensing cost and find it affordable."
"I would rate the pricing a nine out of ten, where ten is expensive. It is the most expensive tool my company is using."
