We use the existing services hosted in Microsoft Azure API Management without making any changes. For transformation capabilities, we utilize ADF, Data Factory instead of Microsoft Azure API Management. Regarding security features in Microsoft Azure API Management, we utilize token bearer authentication. As retailers with integration to our channel partners, we haven't experienced any security issues with Microsoft Azure API Management since it isn't exposed to external parties. We use a basic Azure function hosted in Microsoft Azure API Management rather than the integrated developer portal. Tracking analytics and performance analytics in Microsoft Azure API Management is straightforward. We use basic features for performance analytics and log analytics due to additional subscription charges. We enabled log analytics for Microsoft Azure API Management in the past month to investigate issues such as unreachable endpoints or request timeouts.

I would appreciate improvements to the user interface because it currently appears generic. Please add more professional elements to the UI. I need this because when I open this site in public, everyone says it was built by a college student. I would love for the UI to be professional. For other things, you should orchestrate the features list on the home page and add other things. You should not mention everything. You should mention on the home page which feature I last used so I can go there directly without navigating through settings and multiple menus. If I use any feature repeatedly, it should appear on the home page.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The integration with Azure Active Directory is a good security feature for authentication and authorization, with multifactor authentication and all of the Azure AD features integrated with API Management."
"It is a stable product, it's reliable, there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash, and the performance is good."
"I like the support they provide for the APIs more than the solution itself. First of all, documentation-wise, both Microsoft Azure and even Google Cloud are up there. But in comparison, the real-time consulting and support for APIs make Microsoft stand out a little. I also like the performance. Standard public cloud provider-built APIs are more resilient and flexible in terms of what feature you want to use and what feature you don't want to use, and they're more customizable. They are more resilient in terms of performance in that particular environment because that is the design aspect of the offering. When public clouds build APIs and deploy them after testing them on their framework for a certain amount of time, I feel there is a massive difference in the product's performance. On the interface, everything is strong."
"The solution is quite stable. We have no issues with it. there have been no crashes and we haven't experienced bugs or glitches. It's been quite reliable."
"The most valuable feature is the developer portal, which has source code examples in various programming languages to help developers learn the API."
"The ease of use of the solution is excellent."
"The most valuable features are the ease of use and it is a platform that has self-enablement for the customers to be able to register themselves."
"So far, we are satisfied with the product."
"Traefik Enterprise has positively impacted my organization by making myself and my colleagues more efficient, allowing us to invest more time in other tasks because we are comfortable knowing how Traefik Enterprise operates and the automation we implemented with it."
"The tool handles scalability pretty easily. Adding more instances of services and all are pretty intuitive to do using Traefik Enterprise."
"Traefik Enterprise is helping us tremendously because we do not need to manage multiple service domains."

Cons

"They're trying to implement versioning and trying to be able to manage different versions of your API all at the same time, but they're not doing that just quite right yet."
"Microsoft Azure API Management could be improved by enhancing the preview feature, specifically the workspaces."
"The product's navigation feature needs enhancement."
"The user interface needs improvement."
"The cloud deployment performance could be better."
"The solution has a kind of calculator and it's not always straightforward to figure out the logic in pricing. For a non-technical person, it's a nightmare to figure everything out."
"Microsoft Azure API Management could improve by having better integration with third-party solutions. In an upcoming release, there should be more focus on API lifecycle management, such as MuleSoft provides and the API gateway is not comprehensive enough, we need to put a lot of extra effort doing manual work."
"Latency is an area that needs improvement, especially for multi-tenant applications."
"One should be able to just check things straight up from the UI and get to know what kind of issues are there in the solution, and even though such a feature is already there in the tool, there is more work to be done in it."
"I would appreciate improvements to the user interface because it currently appears generic."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the solution's pricing between three and four, as it could be more competitive."
"Since this is a cloud-based solution you have to abide by those financial limits, this creates some different challenges compared to other solutions."
"We are paying standard fees to use Microsoft Azure API Management."
"The price of the solution is reasonable compared to others."
"Since everyone is isocentric here, it is reasonable for me."
"It's pay as you go. The subscription packages have room for different scales. It's calculated by the number of apps or computers you use. You do not have to use the enterprise subscription. These subscriptions have different pricing, so you can find one to meet your needs for scalability."
"Compared to other solutions the cost is a seven out of ten."
"Azure API Management is the most expensive solution on the market."
"I would say that Traefik Enterprise is cheaper than the other alternatives in the market."
