Helps you avoid delays because you can visualize your deadlines and track your progress
I like the automation you can do with monday.com. You can automate priorities, status changes, notifications, etc. You may need another solution to create this automation in other tools, but monday.com includes everything. The Gantt view for project planning is also pretty good. The interface is another area where monday.com shines. It is colorful and visually appealing. You can paint with colors, and there are multiple views. If you are the type of person who wants all of your information displayed linearly, you can set it up in lines. It's the best tool for evaluating timelines and projects. The most challenging part is deciding how you want to display your information, but as soon as you know what you're doing, it's effortless to view where you are in the project and who's involved. You can set up a simple project in under five minutes, but a super complex one might take a few days. I think it's straightforward if you know how you want to organize your information. monday.com is accessible to non-technical users but takes a lot of time. They have many tutorials, and you can easily use monday.com if you can take the time to go through them and learn. When you initially create a project, it's only a board with lines on which you enter the tasks. You have some columns with the task owner, status, deadlines, etc. It is not that easy to understand all the features and how you can use them for your case, which is why people contact me. When you implement the tool, you decide which layout to use and what information you want to disclose. I've seen clients who have been using this for three years, and they still only know how to do things one way because they haven't taken the time to understand all the features. It's crucial to spend time at the start and learn the tool. I don't think the learning curve is that huge.

Easy to understand with fair pricing and lots of unique features
We use the desktop version of RationalPlan, and It seems some desktop software has the ability to share a document as a web view. This would be a nice feature allowing us to share our plans with clients without needing additional software. This may be something that is offered in the RationalPlan cloud plan. However, it would be nice for the desktop version to have this ability to bring it one more step ahead of the competition. As a side note, RationalPlan does have a free viewer as well.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is more of a streamlined Slack."
"The mobile application is an absolute breeze to work with."
"Dashboards serve as a visual command center, offering a comprehensive overview of project progress, deadlines, and key performance indicators. This visual representation enhances decision-making and facilitates a quick understanding of the project landscape."
"The ability to track dates and times we need cases to be completed has been of great use to my firm."
"The most valuable aspects of the solution include the charts which are very useful for the reports."
"I don't really use the tool's advanced features, but I think it is quite convenient that I can just link the remaining timeline to calculate the set of end dates and the start dates."
"Shareable boards with external partners and a couple of automations are valuable. I also like the simplicity or the clarity of the platform, and how it's a one-stop shop for everything rather than having multiple spreadsheets and folders."
"The notification system is well done."
"Support is top-notch whenever help is needed."

Cons

"I struggle to use the mobile version of Monday.com."
"Now, we are using a cloud option and then we send the link on Monday to the other team members. It was too slow and with some bugs sometimes."
"I archive the data, but I don't know where to find it or how. When I was testing, I thought I saw all the archived files sorted in no order and without knowing where they came from."
"We can send emails from monday.com, but when it comes to the format, we don't necessarily want to always have the monday.com logos. We want to be able to make the emails we send out from monday.com, especially if they're coming from a specific person, look like they would if they were coming from our Outlook."
"While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us."
"Speed and reliability need to be better."
"We would like to have more open boards at one time and more CRM functionalities."
"The new Apple Mac Book Pro lineup was launched more than two years ago and still, this platform is not compatible with the Mac App."
"We use the desktop version of RationalPlan, and It seems some desktop software has the ability to share a document as a web view. This would be a nice feature allowing us to share our plans with clients without needing additional software. This may be something that is offered in the RationalPlan cloud plan."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is totally fair. I don't have any issues with it."
"The price is reasonable for the number of users we have."
"I think monday.com's paywalls are a little too high. Some basic features are locked behind the premium subscription. Some applications they offer within their subscription model are locked in an expensive package. These applications provide functionality that would benefit small teams, but it's too much money for a startup or a small business."
"The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
"The enterprise plan looks expensive because we don't understand the value as monday.com users. The pro level and other packages seem reasonable."
"The pricing of monday.com is worth it."
"The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
"The licensing cost is not that high for monday.com. However, if you need an implementer, the cost is high because there aren't so many monday.com professionals."
