Beginner -friendly tool and simplifies the process of adding new domains
I didn't work on the installation and deployment, but I know the procedure. It's easy, not complicated. We just need to have servers and storage capacity. In our organization, it was an on-premises Proofpoint Protection, so we had a server, capacity storage, and all. We also need to connect that server with our internal environment and Active Directory. It's all easy. There's documentation from Proofpoint on how to do it. And we also have support from their team to guide us.

Improves employees' security awareness, integrates with AD, and user synchronization works well
As we have to report the results of each training to different recipients, it will be very helpful when the reporting system is improved. We would like to create reports for local IT leaders in a different way, more suitable for upper management. We need to have archive functions for older training in order to satisfy requests from local regulators.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Proofpoint Email Protection is stable enough and does its job of virus, malware, and email scam detection. Setting it up is not too complicated."
"Its anti-phishing functionality is the most valuable. Certainly, the biggest problem I have is phishing."
"Proofpoint Email Protection's initial installation is straightforward. It took us less than a day to complete the implementation."
"The spam filter for email is good."
"Proofpoint is the main tool for blocking spam because it denies the connection altogether."
"There is no downtime."
"The solution's technical support is good. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"The Phish Alarm button allows users to submit questionable emails for review and complete analysis."
"Most valuable is the SSO integration with our AD, so the users can employ our federation service to log in."

Cons

"The initial setup is complex."
"Proofpoint should have better integration with complex environments that need more than one instance of Proofpoint, as there are issues with nested instances."
"They do not have an on-demand scan for the internal viruses and internal users, and they don't have a scan for the exchange server against viruses and spam as Symantec does."
"Proofpoint Email Protection's interface is confusing and could be improved."
"Proofpoint Email Protection could improve on the training. Every organization is different and to fine-tune it to block everything properly there needs to be better training. Sometimes it can block some of the information it shouldn't."
"Proofpoint has a lot of false alarms."
"Sometimes it doesn't detect actual spam emails, and sometimes it catches normal emails."
"Some use cases haven't been dealt with yet."
"We would like to create reports for local IT leaders in a different way, more suitable for upper management."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We sell annual licenses for this solution."
"It is multiple times more expensive, which made it very much less attractive."
"The tool's pricing depends on the customer's preference, offering options for an annual license or a monthly subscription. The cost varies based on factors such as the number of users and specific requirements. Overall, the pricing is competitive."
"Pricing has recently been increased and the cost is a downside"
"The solution is expensive."
"I rate the price of Proofpoint Email Protection a four out of five."
"Annually, it costs us about $92,000. This is pretty much what it costs us. There is no additional cost."
"Proofpoint Email Protection is a reasonably priced product, which means that it is neither too low nor too high in terms of price."
"received very good pricing, as we are also working with the Proofpoint spam appliances."
