You don't need a lot of technical knowledge to use the product and it is very easy to learn and easy to use
Pros and Cons
- "I like the predictive features of SAP. It's easy to use tools for an end-user."
- "Pricing is fine for the BI license, but when it comes to client license, that fee is a bit high."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
I like the predictive features of SAP. It's an easy to use tool for an end-user.
You don't need a lot of technical knowledge to use the product and it is very easy to learn and easy to use. It gives you flexibility in designing your own dashboard with its new analytics designer.
These are new features that they implemented three or so months back. It provides you the ability to design your own dashboards with more flexibility and it opens more opportunities as well.
What needs improvement?
Pricing is fine for the BI license, but when it comes to client license, that fee is a bit high.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Cloud Platform for the past year and a half.

How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate it an eight out of ten.
Sometimes it has less flexibility when doing something. You can only do with what is available in SAP. We can't double up anything in SAP. I would take off two points for that.

User-friendly and the visualizations are good, but the reporting needs to be improved
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable features are the visualization and user-friendliness."
- "We are currently working on connectivity with S/4HANA, but we would like to have better connectivity with our legacy systems."
What is our primary use case?
Right now we are doing a PoC on finances and production planning. The most important part is the connectivity and visibility between our legacy system and the cloud. We are testing these things.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features are the visualization and user-friendliness. It's like a self-service platform. If the connectivity is good then anyone can log in and use it.
What needs improvement?
We are currently working on connectivity with S/4HANA, but we would like to have better connectivity with our legacy systems. If they improve third-party connectivity then it would be great for us. No company has SAP alone; they have multiple databases and multiple technologies. The ability to connect to all of these other systems is important.
More functionality has to be added in terms of additional tools and reporting. In our on-premises, BusinessObjects solution, the reports have more crisp and precise visuals. The reports are very cleanly done, and we would like this same functionality in the cloud.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Analytics Cloud for between eight months and a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
This is not a very stable product. It is in its infancy, and although it has not been crashing, the stability needs to be improved.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think that this solution will scale.
Currently, we have a couple of thousand people who are using this solution. We are just in the prototype and testing phase and deciding how we will introduce this into the company. After our testing, we will decide how it will be inserted into our daily productivity and improve the company's profitability.
The people using SAP Analytics Cloud are in a variety of roles. Most of them are middle-level developers and managers. Perhaps fifteen people from senior management us it.
How are customer service and technical support?
We have been in touch with technical support, and I feel that the people who are working are not very technical at all. They only looked at the notes and read, but we had to tell them that we had already done all of these things so we need something new.
What finally stopped it was that the product managed who actually worked with the tool got involved and was able to easily solve our problem.
Overall, I would say that the technical support is fair. It is not excellent or good, but fair.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I am using SAP BusinessObjects in addition to this solution. It has some advantages in terms of additional tools and reporting, which is why we cannot switch at this time.
How was the initial setup?
SAP does the setup and maintenance of this solution.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to anybody who is implementing this solution is to first look at the connectivity that is required. Second, look at the functionality and the visuality that you are going to need. If you are looking at simple things, like traditional visualization, then this solution is good to go. However, if you're thinking about more complex scenarios with more complex logic, then you may need to wait.
I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Good for planning and integrating with SAP systems, but needs better integration with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media
Pros and Cons
- "Planning and integration are the most valuable features. It is useful for planning, and it is useful for integrating with on-prem or cloud SAP solutions."
- "Its integration or connectivity with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media, such as YouTube, LinkedIn, et cetera, can be improved. This is where SAP has limited features as compared to other solutions."
What is our primary use case?
We are using it for enterprise-wide analytics. We have on-prem as well as cloud deployments.
What is most valuable?
Planning and integration are the most valuable features. It is useful for planning, and it is useful for integrating with on-prem or cloud SAP solutions.
What needs improvement?
Its integration or connectivity with non-SAP systems, big data, and social media, such as YouTube, LinkedIn, et cetera, can be improved. This is where SAP has limited features as compared to other solutions.
There is very little documentation. They could provide additional training and resources.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Analytics Cloud for the last two years, but overall, I have been using analytics for the last 15 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We found it to be pretty stable over the last two years.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We hope so. We have not reached a level to be able to say how good it is and how quickly scalable it is, but we believe that it would be scalable. I do not have a proof point to say that it is 100% scalable.
How are customer service and support?
So far, we've been able to resolve most of the issues on our own. Their support is average. It is not great, but it is also not bad.
How was the initial setup?
Its setup is easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Its price is slightly on the higher side.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate it a seven out of 10.

A user-friendly and flexible solution that combines BI and predictive analytics
Pros and Cons
- "It's so user-friendly."
- "I would also like to have more advanced features for predictive analytics."
What is our primary use case?
We use it for all our reporting right now. Everything is happening in SAP, and all dashboards are there, and all data comes through in real-time. We have thought management there, and Azure Operations Management is dependent upon SAP.
What is most valuable?
It's so user-friendly. The configuration is done by the user, not by an IP or anybody. It's also very flexible.
What needs improvement?
I would like to have some functionality when they have a live connection with our BW. Some of the functionalities SAP promotes, like integration, aren't available to me. I would also like to have more advanced features for predictive analytics.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using SAP Analytics Cloud for a few months.
How are customer service and technical support?
I'm not satisfied with technical support because they're taking some time. Sometimes I think they could be faster.
How was the initial setup?
It's cloud-based, and no installation is required. Deployment time and the number of personnel largely depends on the project. The implementation time was less than three months, and I think it was quite easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I think we have 50 active licenses. Right now, I think it's okay, and it's fine for us. It's not that costly as such for the time being.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this product to potential customers.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give SAP Analytics Cloud an eight.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Analytics privacy is the best in the market in BI platforms
Pros and Cons
- "It's many features make it the best in the market."
- "Connection and integration with other applications have a lot of restrictions at the moment."
What is our primary use case?
We have many use cases. These include the SAP Analytics platform tool and the SAP Analytics Cloud project. Some of the tools these products provide tend to fit the same situation. But other use cases can depend on the clients' resources including on-premise servers, or on-premise application. There are many installation requirements, for example in Cloud connect. We often need consultancy support from SAP to assist us.
How has it helped my organization?
SAP Analytics Cloud is very popular amongst most companies around the world. There are three editions of the product.
What is most valuable?
The analytics privacy is the best in the market in BI platforms. SAP Analytics Cloud has a planning tool and integration tool. It is the best business intelligence platform. It's not very complex. Its many features make it the best in the market. It also has new extra storage. I have had very good experiences with SAP Analytics Cloud. There are many standards for setup. The SAP Analytics Cloud connects with the SAP ERP Central Component (SAP ECC) or S/4HANA (SAP's ERP for large enterprises) or any other things around the application server. SAP Analytics Cloud has machine learning installed, which includes a Smart Discovery and a smart BI tool. It's the best feature if you need machine learning. The Smart Discovery is the best tool for me in catalog discovery tools. In addition to SAP Analytics Cloud, there is SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, includes other tools about business intelligence, and SAP HANA Cloud tools
What needs improvement?
SAP Analytics Cloud can connect to any server architect, database server, or application server. There are many models for implementation to the Cloud or on-premises. The implementation process for SAP Analytics Cloud could be improved, as there are many application servers, in the company. Also, there are many applications. This implies there are many KPIs to connect with other applications. Connection and integration with other applications have a lot of restrictions at the moment. As a result, the implementation process is complicated. SAP Cloud connect is easier to implement on-premises. Future releases could include a provision to remove some of those restrictions.
For how long have I used the solution?
Previously, I had 15 years of experience with SAP BI, using Business Objects. I have been using the latest version of SAP Analytics Cloud, for two years as a consultant. I used SAP Business Objects premium, previously, and SAP Analytics Cloud version. My related lengthy experience with Business Objects has helped me learn SAP Analytics Cloud more easily in the last two years. I am mainly experienced in using the IDM tool. I lead on Cloud installations and I have had a lot of training. I also know the core model design. I can explain the model design and related server applications. My main experience is with the design model. I have experience with graphics transformations. Also, I have designed KPIs tools in SAP Analytics Cloud working with customers to specific KPIs. I consider design knowledge to be the most important task for daily tasks. For example, in S/4HANA or SAP ECC, we have to design services, for backups and data. In Venezuela and Latin America, we have to design the ETL process and model those in the SAP Analytics Cloud. We also have to design the dashboard for the customer. Many companies have SAP in Venezuela. As a freelance partner, I work independently. Companies utilize my services when they have a specific implementation of an SAP application they need.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It has many features as a platform. SAP Analytics Cloud has various editions. It depends what it's going to be used for and expected. It has a public edition, and an SAP Analytics Cloud public edition. SAP Analytics Cloud also has a premier edition, which includes customer tool access. The premium edition is the paid-for edition. The premium addition also has better access than the other editions of SAP Analytics Cloud. The client is a large commercial company specialising in telecommunications. I'm working on support and implementation at the moment. Stability can sometimes depend on the size of the company, as a smaller company will generally have less complicated requirements than a large company. It also depends on the design model, and the consultant to know the model and the required customer solution.
How was the initial setup?
You need to know many things about the business. SAP Analytics Cloud, requires consultancy implementation. You have to have good technical skills and knowledge in your business unit or area. These are major concerns. My previous experience with business intelligence products has helped with implementations of SAP Analytics Cloud. It's easier if we have the assistance of a BI consultant, and the team have knowledge about the implementation. The team must be trained in SAP. I keep my knowledge of SAP, and the latest improvements, up-to-date daily. I run webinars for staff, as I am required to train others. The recent versions of SAP have many improvements, but staff need to be kept in the loop about these. For example, currently, I am looking at HANA Cloud within the platform. It is always important for the team to keep the documentation up-to-date, so that, if anything changes or features are added it is included with the latest information.
What about the implementation team?
Implementations are usually carried out in conjunction with the vendor team, which includes SAP and BI consultants.
What other advice do I have?
The best way to keep up with relevant information about SAP Analytics Cloud is in public forums. I check those daily, including any blogs. There are many useful articles on the internet about SAP Analytics Cloud. I rate SAP Analytics Cloud as a 10, based on the implementation, functionality to the users and it is the best tool to measure KPIs in the Cloud.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
