I used BambooHR in my previous organizations. We maintained employee profiles and used it for communication, sort of like an alternative for the internet. We mostly used it through the web application, not the mobile app. The web application was sufficient, even for people who accessed things through their mobile devices.
BambooHR is like a company directory. Half of the company has a profile on the solution so you can see information about each staff member. People can request staff and leave, see when each staff member has joined the company, or see who is on leave and when they will return to work. Company-wide announcements are also on BambooHR.
I use BambooHR for everything related to HR activities, like maintaining the data of all our employees or for documentation sharing between our colleagues and us. BambooHR's homepage is also very useful since one can add links over there, and everyone can access it in one go. Also, the solution's onboarding and offboarding sections are important since we use them quite a lot for managing vacation and time off requests. Now, we are thinking about using the asset parts of BambooHR.

I use this solution for all things HR related. It was the first HRIS system that I implemented for a company of around 300 employees. I was able to consolidate our software systems because BambooHR offers pulse surveys, NPS scores and performance reviews. It also tracks training and acts as an applicant tracking system.
