One challenge I've encountered with the tool is that it's not as intuitive as it could be. For example, when making invitations or initiating calls, it often takes two or three clicks to get started, which feels less efficient compared to other tools like Zoom. The interface seems to have too much functionality packed into one environment. I’d recommend adding shortcuts for frequently used activities to improve it. For example, having quick access to OneDrive or creating fast calls to contacts could save time.
Everything is running smoothly, and I’m still exploring more features. As for improvements, I think it could be more user-friendly and integrate better with third-party software, like Zoom and other video conferencing tools.

The product doesn’t indicate what kind of audio device is connected during the meetings. I do not know whether the participant in the meeting is on a headset or the speaker. There are two topics I'd like to address regarding Microsoft Teams software. First, it is programmed in Electron, which, in my opinion, makes it sluggish. Improving the performance and reducing high CPU utilization would be a great enhancement. Secondly, in terms of functionality, I would like to see support for multi-user or multiple windows for the File structure. Currently, this can only be done through the browser, and you need to switch accounts to access different windows. Additionally, better support for working with multiple tenants is an ongoing issue.

The room for improvement needed in Microsoft Teams depends on what you are looking for and your uses of the product. Honestly, I would like not to see any improvements because all these improvements normally I don't use. It takes me only time to adapt to the new improvements in the product, and they don't add too much value for me. I would prefer Microsoft Teams to reduce their frequent updates.
The interface must be improved to reflect the true face of Office 365. External user visibility must be available in the next releases of Microsoft Teams. User activity logs must be available along with more task management capabilities. Microsoft Teams is able to translate slides into multiple languages. It also is able to transcribe audio from multiple languages. It would be beneficial if it could also take the transcription in one language and translate it into another. It may not be great since the source is audio. However, it would be helpful in a situation when professional translation services are not available.

It's a really good application, a good program. However, maybe the whole UI could change a bit in the future. After a while, it gets to be too much of the same in the eye of the customer. I don't like it very much, but I have to use it because it's the standard in the organization for communication. It could be improved if it was easier to use and the interface was revamped.
One time the product was basically freezing. I couldn't send a message to my colleague for some reason. I had to restart the PC or restart my phone for some reason. I don't know why it was buggy. Maybe it was overloaded or something. The desktop and mobile apps are quite different. They should work to make both virtually the same.

Because many companies use a variety of tools, the main feature could be to integrate the ability to participate in any meeting regardless of the platform they are using. For example, if you are invited to a Google Meet session, you should be able to join it without the need of having installed the specific client to attend that meeting. It would be the best opportunity to create an abstract of which online collaboration tools are being used to avoid installing Zoom, Teams, or WebEx. It's currently the best time to try something new; I know it's technically difficult or perhaps impossible, but that should be a good starting point. Allowing you to participate in the conference to which you have been invited regardless of the platform on which it is hosted would be beneficial.
There are a couple of faulty areas that need improvement. The interface could be a little bit more user-friendly. When you click on files, pictures, or PDFs when someone sends them to you on Teams, they don't always appear on the system; you have to go back and click again. To be able to see pictures and documents for the first time is something that needs to be improved. One thing I would like to be able to do is ping more conversations than I currently can. We can currently only ping 15, but I'd like to see new features that allow for 20 or 25 pings; that would be good.

I think it would be helpful if the whiteboard tool was embedded in the solution rather than having to deploy or download a tool for this. I also don't like it that the toolbar sticks to the screen during meetings. There should be an option to remove or at lease minimize it as it obstructs the view.
I'm not sure if there are any improvements in terms of features that the solution needs right now. It works quite well for us. The solution should fix the ease of use directly outside of the office environment. Right now, unless I'm at my office desktop, it's hard to access it.
There's definitely room for improvement. With respect to security, there needs to be more work done. I was surprised, for example, yesterday, when my daughter was able to use my Microsoft Teams interface for her schoolwork. I was surprised that they could do that, because I believe it was only for my own personal use. In order to avoid others using it, it needs a password of its own. I don't know how to do that. Maybe Microsoft can make it so that there is a provision for multi-users on a particular system. I've heard that hackers are beginning to jump on meetings like they were on Zoom previously. This needs to be addressed immediately.
I'm really waiting for the release of Lists to be included. Lists is a new feature that will probably come into Teams in August. It will be a way of using some sort of database to enter interlinked lists. I don't like the online version of Word and Excel. It skews the layout. It is no longer representative of the layout that you actually have in a document. You always have to open it in the desktop application to get an accurate representation of how the document will look. If you open a document in Teams, it opens online first. If you have, for instance, an entire image on the front page, that image is descaled to the right and to the bottom. So you have a lot of white space on the page, while in reality, it's pretty nicely aligned. You basically have a borderless page. That's one of the main things that they can improve on. If they had a workaround where you can open it in the desktop apps first, it would be better. The solution needs to adjust the number of protected channels within a team. The solution should maybe include breakout rooms within a team meeting. For example, let's say you are with 10 people, within one meeting space. You can have three accounts in separate smaller "meeting rooms" with just two or three people accessing them and still be within the same larger meeting environment. Let's say if you have a team where you have some technical members, some solution architects, a bid manager, a capture manager, an account manager, etc., you should be able to break up a meeting into multiple smaller sessions on certain topics, and yet still stay within the same meeting space. They should include a visual application also within Teams, so drawings that are made can attach to that space within the proposal with the ability to add Word or Excel files, as well as tasks, etc.

One of the issues we have is that sometimes when you're trying to share your screen the solution crashes. The problem occurs quite frequently and it's an issue across multiple users. It's been reported to technical support but there seems to be some bug there. That should really be improved. I haven't experienced any other difficulties. I'd like to have the ability to increase the number of participants in a meeting as an additional feature. For now, you can only see a maximum of nine people in a single screen. I believe that Zoom enables the ability to see 20 plus people during video conferencing. I'd also like to see a screen sharing option which would include sharing of videos.
There's one thing that I was disappointed in when I was trying to invite my whole team to a meeting. I had to type the team members versus being able to set up a team's group of names as you can do with Outlook. It would be nice if you could take the ones that dial in with their phone numbers and it had some type of translation. The idea is to get the name of the person dialing in. I don't know if they can get tricky and pick up a name that's associated with that number or prompt the user as they do on Skype.

The user interface needs to be improved. After six months of working with it, I still find the UI a little clunky when it comes to sharing content and moving around between features like the calendar and files. Sometimes, when I'm on a call and somebody asks if I can share a file or a link, I find it clunky to get to where those pieces are. Overall, navigation is a little sticky.

The interface of the solution could use improvement. Right now, the gold standard in terms of team conferencing user interfaces seems to be Zoom. Microsoft Teams should see if they could make their interface and usability as simple as that. It's not as easy to augment your meetings as it is with competitors. For example, in Zoom, if I want to add attendees, I just grab the meeting link and post it to them. With Teams, how to do this is not as clear.
Web conferencing needs improvements. The biggest issue is web content. We would like to have a caller's telephone number easily available to the team members.

The UI can be further improved upon. When I used to use Skype, Skype was a small window that opened on your desktop. With Teams, when you use it, it occupies your full screen just like if you were in Word or Excel. Skype worked more like an app, which I preferred. I liked being able to use it in a minimized screen. If Teams could emulate that a bit, it would be a better user experience. When we share the screen, we can't actually take control of the user's screen. When I'm trying to do some activity for another person or want to change something for them, it's not possible. In a technical way, I would like to take control of a system where I'm seeing the screen and I want to do some changes, while we are discussing things during meetings.

Microsoft Teams is quite demanding on bandwidth, which has been a problem during the COVID situation because we don't get enterprise-class bandwidth at home. Currently, we use broadband, and even the little variations that happen can throw you out of a meeting. It seems that you get disconnected really fast. It takes a long time to load, which is something that could be improved. Having a dial-in feature would be helpful because it would allow more people to be included in meetings.

They should consider adding the feature to allow new users, without it being an additional fee. When comparing features with other vendors, the only thing is that the bridge is not included unless you need it. For users that use the computer or apps, there is no need for a bridge. The security needs improvement, as well as the ability to back up private chats. They have indicated that it is under development. They need to ensure that the private meetings are not visible to others because of the privacy law.
What would really help is extending the time that you're active on the mobile device because I can't find a way in Teams to restart the app automatically. For instance, in Teams, we use it as an organization for instant messaging and for text messaging. The problem is if I restart my mobile device, I have to remember to restart Teams in order to get the text messages on my device. It's not automatic. The solution should standardize the options across platforms. What I mean by that is, sometimes, on the mobile, there are not the same options and set up features and functions as are available on the web or on the desktop app. Everything should have the exact same functionality, otherwise, it's difficult if some people are on mobile and others are on desktop.

When it comes to downloading several documents or sharing documents that are above 450 KB, it takes time. It's a bit slow, especially if you are downloading photos. There could be more documentation when it comes to the setup when you have other software. It's an annex, it's additional support, not something that the software provides when it's not something that comes with other products that can be connected to it.

I would like to be able to see a larger number of participants in the gallery view, that would improve the product. I think the ability to integrate with other team's scheduling, for example, with people outside the organization would be a good feature. For example, most of our business partners work for Dell and EMC and they also use Teams. It would be great if we could pop on a video conference with them where screens were shared and we could at least see information on each other's calendars or some sort of external scheduling feature.
While we are still familiarizing ourselves with the features, although I would say that there could be some improvements with some additional stability. For some who connect, and do not have a good connection from home or the internet is not as good, it needs a bit more stability. On rare occasions, it freezes and some people will lose sound or they could lose video. It needs better handling. It needs to be more robust in terms of stability. It's still a fairly new product, so they may still improve this a little.
The user interface could be improved, it's a bit tedious that you cannot move around within the solution without closing what you are in the middle of.
I would like to see some improvement in the file hierarchy and team hierarchy. Right now it's not as powerful as when using SharePoint for files. They could develop more complex hierarchies for files and teams. I think there could also be improvement at the authorization level, who can see what and things like that. It's not that easy to work with. I think the idea of authorization could be included as an additional feature. In addition the video conferencing is not as good as Zoom, which is a more powerful solution. Zoom provides the ability to see many people on the same screen and to break out into different virtual rooms. Those are a couple of features that Teams could implement.
If you're using this product in a big corporation with a lot of data to manage, finding something specific can become very complex and the solution can become a little bit quirky. If I'm searching for a file in Teams, I might not find the relevant information right away. I think the search feature could be improved in that regard although any platform might have issues when dealing with masses of data. It's a management challenge when you're dealing with that amount of data. I'd like to see better ways of managing data, perhaps create a life cycle, possibilities for deletion or archiving. So, at this point we don't have, there is a way to do that, but it's it's really complex to do. There's a way to do it now but it's very complex.
If I could completely eliminate Outlook and only use Teams, that would help me immensely. Productivity would increase drastically and many of our team members would be more efficient in our day-to-day, as we would be living primarily in a single tool. I'm not a developer, but if Teams could be integrated with VS or Eclipse to easily share information in a chat panel, such as a task you are working on, roadblocks you may have run into, or if you need approval for something. This is not critical. It would be a nice feature to be able to have your own background, use a collage (if desired) when doing video calls, or use an animated emoji in place of your video during live chats (as a way to add more personal flavor to your personality).

I didn't know that Teams is part of Office 365, so I think that it should be better advertised with its features and capabilities. It would be helpful for it to be more visible and what the benefits of it are. Documentation on its capabilities and guidelines on its use would also be helpful. This solution would be improved with more functionality built into the interface. If you compare Teams to Lync, Lync is just a little box in the corner and it pops up and alerts you if someone is trying to contact you. With teams, you have to physically go in and look to see what is going on. The interface could be improved so that we don't have to manually check for things such as who is online.

One of the places where this product can improve is in file sharing. Using the Planner, it should be easier to link to external files. As the product is set up now, you are obliged to use links to files that will be stored in SharePoint. You cannot integrate files in a node. One of the reasons why we prefer using Trello at this point is because you can add links to the files on each card (project) as you want. It is more open and less limited. The possibility to attach any kind of content to any card created in Planner is the reason why we didn't stop using Trello completely. With Teams, the constraint regarding the files means we have to separately log on SharePoint and to upload files on to OneDrive to share them. The added complexity means we are losing time over something that should be easier. If this feature could be enhanced so file attachment is easy, I think I would prefer to use Teams instead of Trello. One functionality that could add value to the product would be better logging of histories. For example, when you've got a conference call and you're using Teams, it would be useful to have a record of the participants in the call. If you have a conference call where there are five participants, the product should be able to record this information as a history of the project without having to ask separately for introductions. Currently, the product is not able to track this information and it doesn't seem that Teams offers the possibility to track the history of the calls that have been completed. Another feature that would be useful is the ability to create a VCF (Virtual Contact File) directly from an appointment, through the calendar, or through a phone call. It could be great if you just could right-click on the name of the contact and create a VCF file. Later, you will be able to import the contact into Outlook, for example. It could be a very useful time-saver.

We work directly with Microsoft to provide feedback on the product and what we would like to see as improvements. I discover a new feature every day, so they're really working to develop it very quickly. I would like also to have a feature where we create a worldwide group to act as a social media hub. The difference between that and groups is that it would be separate from all the other groups. I don't want it included in my Teams because I will use it in a different way. I can see the activity of other teams or individuals who are not on my teams. Because I'm using the product extensively and have many teams, I think it is an important addition to be able to organize groups in different ways — and I have put in that request with IS.

There is nothing that annoys me at the moment but perhaps the layout can be improved. In my experience working with Microsoft tools, they continuously work on usability. There are a few minor issues when scheduling meetings, and that is that some of the descriptions are really long. And there seems to be very little control over what a user could control in terms of the texts that appear. An invitation, for example, can look very complicated. So I would say that Microsoft Team invitations from the calendar within the solution could be improved.
At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Maybe they need a column, or maybe a background, or something like that to mix things up. They need to improve the scalability of Teams.
I don't like it very much, but I have to use it because it's the standard in the organization for communication. It could be improved if it was easier to use and the interface was revamped.
Teams doesn't always sync to show as Do Not Disturb during Outlook meetings. In the next release, it would be useful to see other users' availability.
One time the product was basically freezing. I couldn't send a message to my colleague for some reason. I had to restart the PC or restart my phone for some reason. I don't know why it was buggy. Maybe it was overloaded or something. The desktop and mobile apps are quite different. They should work to make both virtually the same.
There's a feature that can send a notification to the Team's channel, but I think there's no way to have it escalated.
This solution is not as popular for companies to use as other solutions making it a disadvantage.
The user interface is non-intuitive and should be improved.
Microsoft Teams does not have any features that Zoom, Skype, or Webex don't already have.
I think the solution would be improved by giving people the ability to call into meetings. I don't think we have that ability yet.
Whiteboard should be standard rather than an app.
The solution could use better calling functionality. The solution should offer a way for people to virtually raise their hands in a meeting so that everyone can speak. There's a user voice for this already, but it would help if there was some sort of visual cue as well.
We have had some problems uploading documents because of the GDPR status. So we must disable it to upload documents in Teams easily from users. If Microsoft Teams could do that, it would be great. There's a third part solution for this, but it can be too expensive for customers. So I would like to see an admin center added to this solution, so that I can block to upload the document for some users or for some groups.
The mobile application needs improvement. There are a lot of features on the web and desktop versions that aren't implemented yet on mobile. It would be nice if more education features were added in future releases.
In the next release, I would like to have the interface modernized and brought more up to date.
I think they can improve all those segments for channel bulking. Also, some functionalities which migrated from Skype for Business to Teams, is not supported by Teams. We had used them in Skype for Business. I think it would be better if we had some improved planning on Teams.
We occasionally have issues with synchronization between different dates. This aspect of stability needs improvement. The solution could be better integrated with SharePoint and have better workflows especially for writing drafts for review and release.
