Salesforce Marketing Cloud should provide some debugging facilities for every user. Apart from Data Views, nothing is available for debugging purposes. I cannot check for any errors or status behind every system journey. The solution's debugging and reporting could be improved.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud should include more point-and-click functionality. Currently, you need help from a technical developer to design email templates. Most people using Salesforce Marketing Cloud prefer to have drag-and-drop and point-and-click functionalities to make their lives easier.
There are some areas to be improved, especially for the sake of developers. The solution can have a better UI. Salesforce Marketing Cloud should consider making its solution more robust for error handling. Other than the aforementioned issues, everything else is fine. In our company, we know some limitations of Salesforce, like how a user can subscribe and receive only five reports from Salesforce. Also, a user can subscribe to its dashboard only. So, these aforementioned points are some areas that can be improved.
The encryption and decryption have room for improvement. We need to be confident that the customer's data is secure when shared outside of the organization. I would like to request additional mobile app features that go beyond push notifications. As the mobile development industry continues to advance with new technologies, such as AI components, it is important to consider these advancements when setting up campaigns. Currently, campaigns are scheduled to be sent to customers at a prescribed time, but they may not be relevant to the customer unless they see them as valuable. For example, if I want to run a campaign offering loans, I would need to consider the customer's needs and balance. In the future, I hope Salesforce can incorporate an AI component that utilizes the shared data, rather than just scheduling campaigns.

The customization of Salesforce, a generic CRM software, has room for improvement. It is not very customizable, which is often required for a particular industry, and building those customizations can take a lot of time. For example, in the steel industry, there are thousands of SKUs that need to be configured depending on the mill parameters. Salesforce does not do this out of the box, so we must consider these factors and configure it on the due date and time.
The UA could be better designed for a mobile connection. The Journey Builder is used to configure a first email and second reminder. Based on action from our customers, we use journey builder to also send out a third email. The Journey Builder is a little bit complex and could be made easier to use. In a future release, we would like to have more integrations with social media platforms.
I want to improve the cost because the larger you get, sometimes the price rises in a way that I don't like. It's a very good solution, but the way the prices are structured is not always good, and I feel like that is a problem.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud could improve by having the ability to detect duplicate accounts. Sometimes you search for a customer and you have five or six different records for the same customer. You look inside, all the records have the same data, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud says it could not find any duplicate accounts for it. It would be nice to have more intelligence for the detection of duplicates. In a future release, adding end-user personalization would be a benefit.
Clarity around new features could be improved when they are released. They send out emails but a lot of important information and explanations are missed by email. Training or videos to guide us using new features would be great.

The quality of support for this solution has been decreasing over time and the support team are sometimes more focused on closing tickets that resolving issues. Often the support team is not well trained or aware of the new features or products released by Salesforce.
When you use your iPhone or Android phone, Salesforce is not as user-friendly as it could be. That UX needs to be improved. React Native is a newmobile app based framework, where you can build one framework which will work with Android, iPhone, tablets, and all browsers. What you see is what you get on all the different platforms. I get this in Salesforce as well, but the UX is not beautiful. This is not required for business, but when you spend some money, the UI should look very beautiful.
There could be easier tools to configure the product and to create landing pages to better handle large data sets. In order to solve scaling issues, Salesforce needs to improve the database. The database does not meet the requirements for big customers in particular.

The majority of my clients are happy, but when it comes to the CDP of Salesforce, the client gets confused. They have no clue that Salesforce has a CDP platform too. If my clients want to go ahead with the same vendor, Salesforce, they get confused about the different marketing suites which are available. There is no clear marketing done for the suites available for the clients, this is where the client is facing the real challenges. In an upcoming release, they should make their templates more organized.

The pricing is a bit high. In our country our company is one of the biggest, however, the price is really high even for us sometimes. We are looking for CDP solutions. Salesforce was offering that to be ready and this year, however, it seems it's not ready yet. It could be in January. On the other hand, SAP has the solution already implemented, which makes them a more appealing solution for us right now. The business is pushing us to move to another solution due to the fact that they need the CDP solution ASAP.
The general setup and understanding of how to use it can be improved. There should be easier self-service for setting up dashboards. Currently, we have someone setting them up for us. I wish it was easier.

We need a development environment for Marketing Cloud. Currently, there is no development environment for this solution. Other Salesforce products, such as Sales and Service Cloud, have a development environment in which the developers can do some things and then post them in production. Currently, everything happens in the production for Marketing Cloud. There is only one environment, and the developers and the end-users have to work in the same environment, which seems to be challenging. If Salesforce can bring a developer environment for Marketing Cloud, it will be good.

The product can improve security. If we can get better security on the cloud, it would be ideal. With the cloud, you don't need any infrastructure or any kind of end-user person. We'd like to increase the security protocols and increase the policies which have been assigned or have been deployed from years back. The solution can be difficult to set up for non-technical individuals.

We would like an improvement to the 'Einstein Engagement Frequency'; the optimal range of emails that our subscribers will engage with. Then take action to suppress those who receive too many or send more to those receiving too few. Also, we would like a 'sandbox' for Marketing Cloud because only PROD exists today.

Marketing Cloud releases product updates every three months. With each update, users have to adapt to the product changes and new interfaces. To improve user experience, there should be clear workflows to assist the user through the setup processes. The help documentation also needs to reflect product updates more accurately. Being at the front of innovation is difficult if you are playing a guessing game.
