The main improvement needed is the ability to have different base URLs for HTTP and HTTPS for different clients. Currently, I can have only one base URL for one atom. It would help if I could set up a proxy with different URLs within Boomi as a simple configuration instead of needing external applications. Also, Boomi can integrate AI to manage backend loads and provide insights into runtime engine consumption.

We faced issues with error management. When there was an issue with a job, it was quite difficult to find the reason for the error in the environment. There are multiple screens on the user interface. So we have to jump through different screens during the deployment of APIs constantly. It is quite easy to lose track of what we are doing. It was really easy to see processes running and what was happening in the environment. However, getting things from development to production was somewhat challenging. The documentation is quite hard to learn. I rate the documentation a three out of ten. The product is really complex to manage.

The product's initial setup phase was straightforward. For the deployment, Boomi Atom runtime needs to be installed, your ports should be opened, your certificates need to be installed, your network has to be compliant, and your security part needs to be taken care of along with the data governance part. Okay. You also need to take care of data persistence. The user needs to take care of a lot of the things or information. The solution can be deployed around a week in our company's internal landscape. Based on the complexity of processing, it takes some time. I don't think it is too complex to deploy the tool. The number of people required for the product's deployment and maintenance depends on how much work you must do in your company.
