Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is used for endpoint email security and data loss prevention for web.

Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is a user-friendly product, particularly regarding upgrades. Every function and task, such as backups, forensics, and policy creation, is defined clearly and is easy to manage. It provides multiple customization options for policies, which makes it superior to Symantec. Fingerprinting technology is supported, although I primarily monitor with a data classification tool.

Our primary use case for this solution is for malicious activities.

The feature I found most valuable is the DLP. We are using it to do encryptions.

I deployed the solution for three of our customers, and the primary use case is data loss prevention.

The feature with which the solution integrates with the proxy, the ICAP protocol that logs the inline traffic or real-time traffic, is valuable.

The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality is another helpful feature, especially for unstructured data. Being able to discover sensitive data in an unstructured format is the most beneficial element of the solution.

We can add tags to table format or Excel documents, such as ''confidential'' or ''sensitive information'', and the DLP suite takes action according to the defined policy for each tag.

The main use case is the built-in OCR feature that the customer needs, but the OCR feature is limited to the network level. You cannot use this at the endpoint level, where there's a risk of data leakage. End-users can leak scanned pictures or screenshots, so customers need protection against these data leaks.

Forcepoint protects against insider threats. If you have many employees, you can implement a DLP that protects against the loss of data where it's stored. It covers encrypted data. You have two use cases for encryption at the USB and network levels. You can encrypt data in email from person to person or encrypt data that you need to copy via USB from your DLP administrator.

We use Forcepoint for compliance, PCI DSS, and data protection at the network, endpoint, and data discovery levels.

Forcepoint has out-of-the-box rules and policies for PCI DSS and GDPR compliance. The compliance features are easy to deploy and implement. If your data is not classified, you need to do that first, but the functionality is out-of-the-box otherwise. 

Forcepoint offers many policies that conform to global DLP best practices, including requirements specific to regions like the Middle East, Europe, etc. They have a policy database in their product. That feature is unique to Forcepoint. Their AI and fingerprinting are incredibly effective and robust. We have tested it multiple times. It always catches the correct data being leaked.

Forcepoint DLP's most valuable feature is that it provides complete end-to-end security. It gives us an understanding of any violation happening in the network or via endpoint.

The post-optical character recognization feature could be improved because it only really works on documents with some length (at least three paragraphs). If someone has copied half a paragraph or half the content from a webpage, it doesn't work. In the next release, Forcepoint should include DLP, antivirus, and encryption in the same solution, which would resolve many of the IT problems we face.

I primarily use the solution for endpoint network and cloud application channels.

From the coverage perspective, it has better insights. 

The solution is stable.

It can scale. 

Technical support has been helpful. 

The pricing is fine. 

The most useful features of Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention are the transfer through Bluetooth can be blocked and the transfer to the cloud-based storage can be blocked. The features are wonderful.

Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention can improve by having an uninstall option for the client or restart of a client agent can be controlled from the server. This feature is missing which is available with other solutions.
