The best features of SAP Business Warehouse that I am fond of are how this technology handles navigational attributes and the hierarchy; these are two interesting features. It's a straightforward solution which is a low-code solution, wherein there are quite good drag-and-drop facilities available. The transformational aspects use a language called ABAP, which is complex; people find it harder to deal with that because it's a programming language that needs skills in SQL. The advanced reporting features in SAP Business Warehouse help support strategic planning because reporting is generally used for decision support, and it depends on the role of the end-user. For example, if you are a financial controller or a marketing and sales person, it depends on the kind of data you want to have. SAP Business Warehouse has quite a good data warehouse when it comes to providing reports. Before HANA, it was necessary to build something called aggregates to prepare these reports, and then came accelerators. However, post-HANA, the data loads are very quick compared to the earlier days, meaning data latency has reduced. There is not real-time reporting possibility with BW because there are transformational capabilities that are missing, meaning they take longer time compared to other tools such as Spark or Snowflake; the ability to get to near-real-time reporting in BW is slower, and this is one of the reasons people consider moving out. The role of SAP BW's data governance capabilities is very important, as it involves maintaining templates and making sure that the right data reaches the right person at the right time. These are some of the governance and security aspects that come into the picture. There is a very good authorization model available in BW, which is very robust. I have not seen in any technology such an authorization model, which has a unique feature of restricting data towards certain users, even though the data is contained in the same table. There are multiple features with authorization in SAP, that's about authorization and security which I appreciate.
