Very secure for storing passwords, keys, and secrets
1Password is very secure for storing all my passwords, keys, and secrets for work 1Password should check and alert me if my information, such as my password or email address, has been sold on the internet. There is a function for that, but it's not very good or useful for me. I haven’t faced any…

It took us some time to realize its benefits because there was a learning curve for us. It took us about a year to get our heads around this product and start effectively using it. It is a journey. It takes at least five years for any company to make this product very useful and reach maturity. It is not only the product's fault. The company needs to have a vision, and the company culture needs to go with it. Senior leadership needs to support the vision. You need to have lots of ingredients for success. If everything is in place, you will see success after one year. In the first year, it is a struggle for everybody. My company was bought by a bigger company, and they were very new to privileged access management. Everybody was struggling. The advice I would give is to have a good vision for privileged access management. You need dedicated teams, senior management support, and proper company policies and standards before implementing the solution. Start building knowledge slowly and avoid jumping into the deep end without preparation. I would rate CyberArk Privileged Access Manager a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"1Password helps to generate unique passwords that you do not need to remember."
"1Password is very secure for storing all my passwords, keys, and secrets for work."
"The tool's most valuable feature is security."
"The solution's most valuable features are its password management security and cloud firewall."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it's the best in the market. I haven't seen any other PAM solutions better than CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault."
"I would recommend implementing CyberArk Privileged Access Manager as it is the best so far."
"The whole concept of Zero Trust and implementing it with CyberArk, which somewhat adheres to the 'never trust, always verify' principle, is very valuable. I really appreciate this aspect. Moreover, the just-in-time access is impressive, allowing access for a specific time."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager has helped our organization remain compliant in the privileged access management space."
"Session monitoring is excellent. It may be the solution's most valuable aspect."
"We also use CyberArk’s Secrets Manager. Because AWS is the biggest area for us, we have accounts in AWS that are being rotated by CyberArk. We also have a manual process for the most sensitive of our AWS accounts, like root accounts. We've used Secrets Manager on those and that has resulted in a significant risk reduction, as well."
"It enables us to secure accounts and make sure they are compliant."
"Security is the solution's most valuable feature. As far as I know, this solution is the most secure system of this class on the market today, even considering another management system like Fudo Security, which we also use. The integration capabilities are very good; it helps strengthen our overall security."

Cons

"Sometimes it fails to appear automatically, and you have to call it manually."
"1Password should check and alert me if my information, such as my password or email address, has been sold on the internet."
"We faced issues while integrating 1Password into JumpCloud."
"The service could be improved incrementally to enhance programmatic access to the vault."
"The solution is too big and complex for any businesses that are small or medium-sized. They should offer a more compact version or make a solution better suited to smaller businesses."
"It can be integrated with other systems, but it is not easy to integrate. It takes too long to integrate it. Its integration should be easier and simpler."
"Online help needs to be looked into with live agent support."
"I would like to see is the policy export and import. When we expend, we do not want to just hand do a policy."
"CyberArk has a lot on the privileged access side but they have to concentrate more on the application side as well."
"We don't often contact technical support, but when we do it, the response could be faster and better."
"Initially, there was a lot of hiccups, because there were a lot of transitions due to manual installations."
"As a customer, I might need a plugin for a specific product, or an application, and CyberArk might have already worked with some other client on it. There has to be some platform where it is available for everybody else to go and grab it, instead of my having to reinvent the wheel."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Users have to pay around five euros per year for the solution."
"The tool's pricing is not too cheap or expensive."
"The solution is very expensive and requires a license. We pay for an enterprise license."
"Before we bought it, they were licensing each function individually, which got complicated and very expensive. When we decided to buy it, it was much more straightforward and still quite expensive, but it brings a lot of value and risk reduction to the organization."
"Cost efficiency is the number one thing that can be improved in my mind. This would change lots of companies minds on purchasing the product."
"With reducing the privileged account access, there has been a huge improvement. They are now bringing more accounts on a little at a time."
"The product’s pricing is feasible for enterprise customers. The pricing is expensive for smaller businesses. You need to pay additional costs for service implementation and local support."
"This solution is expensive."
"It's expensive, certainly. But CyberArk is the leader in the market with regards to privileged access management. You pay a lot, but you are paying for the value that is being delivered."
"It is in line with its competitors, but all such solutions cost too much money."
