Helps us to do spreadsheet reports on sales and quotations and provides donor reports for projects
The solution's initial setup is straightforward. The solution's deployment took three months. A business certification is needed and then the setup is possible. After that, there are months of follow-up. The full consolidation took around us three months. That happens in parallel to Microsoft training. The transition and complete deployment took six months and touching base with each unit was needed. We have seven modules deployed for the ERP. Seven people are needed for the testing and sign-off. But then, on the technical side, an email addressing the database administrator and the product owner is needed. The maintenance requirements are taken care of by the vendor. I rate the initial setup a seven out of ten.

The sales and distribution modules are robust, and reliable, and seldom encounter issues
In GP, there are certain features like financial reporting that aren't part of the core GP package. Users might need to install additional components for these features. For example, there's a reseller product called Management Reporter, but many users would prefer to have the reporting capabilities integrated within GP itself, rather than relying on external tools. The manufacturing module in GP is quite basic, and those who require more advanced manufacturing capabilities often turn to third-party modules or tools. Additionally, you might be aware that in 2028, GP is expected to reach its end of life. Microsoft has already ceased selling GP to new customers. It's essentially the same product, but this marks the final year for GP's availability.

Pros

"I have found the solution has many valuable features such as a user-friendly mobile platform, notification settings, and the ability to do many customizations."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics AX is customization."
"The tool's most important capabilities are for retail and finance. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 doesn't have many integration capabilities, but Microsoft 365 has the most capabilities to integrate with any type of standalone software and has many more features."
"It has the same UI and is very similar to any other Microsoft product."
"The response time of the solution is very good."
"If anyone is familiar with Microsoft products then they can handle it easily."

"A valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics AX is that it is stable."

Cons

"The build-in dashboard and reporting customization should be improved."
"Improvements could be made regarding user-friendliness and transitioning fully to a web version. Features like forex reconciliation and a cash flow planning module could enhance the solution."
"The reporting Module should be improved and a drag and drop functionality should be added."
"The initial setup can be complex at times and has room for improvement."
"The implementation was completed within one month."
"Microsoft Dynamics AX can improve system performance and security. The security is basic and needs a lot of improvement."
"There is also slowness in database backup."
"I would never recommend moving to an obsolete product that cannot get support."
"It needs better financials and reporting from the system, not through Excel."
"Our version has performance issues so it gets stuck and is slow."
"We do not have access to daily projections."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the solution is fair compared to competitors."
"The solution is moderately priced. The licensing cost is around sixty thousand USD for annual maintenance. If you're using an application-specific license, it is a little cheaper. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"I rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten. Customizations can cost you extra money."
"Microsoft Dynamics AX is expensive."
"It has a pay-as-you-go subscription."
