Have saved significant operational costs and streamlined alert-driven analytics with customizable dashboards
I definitely see some disadvantages in Apache Superset, particularly in the tagging feature which is not up to the mark, creating a little bit of mess for the administrators. We work with a Role-Based Access Control feature in the product. I assess this feature as good; they have permissions which are in more plain English, but there is a little bit of convenience missed out because if I have to create a super user apart from admin, I need to add all the permissions manually.

Has supported trend analysis and forecasting but needs major fixes in customization and reliability
There are some areas where Zoho Analytics needs improvement compared to Power BI. Uploading and interpreting data inside the interface needs enhancement. While Power BI uses Power Query, an intuitive and powerful tool that allows data manipulation in any way, Zoho Analytics has limitations. I usually prepare data in Excel before uploading it to Zoho Analytics. The charts in Zoho Analytics are not as customizable as in Power BI. While all chart types are available, they can only be modified at a basic level, not an advanced level. Though trend analysis features are provided, creating anything out of the box is challenging.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The main benefit I have seen from working with Apache Superset so far is the speed from discovery and SQL to making charts and dashboards, along with its customizability."
"It's very easy, reliable, and trustable because it's an Apache open-source product."
"What I appreciate the most about Apache Superset is that it's free and easy to set up."
"Apache Superset allows us to set up alerts; for instance, if the failure rate exceeds 1.5%, we receive an alert to address the issue with our integration partners."
"Apache Superset is a lightweight reporting tool with a lot of functions and flexibility, where you can build the dataset, build charts, and dashboards from the user interface."
"It is a good visual solution tool in an open-source category."
"The no-code interface is the most valuable as it allows us to operate without constant support from the data engineering team, fostering a self-service environment."
"The solution supports a rich set of charts and enables users to create their own dashboards."
"The integration interface is very easy to use and allows you to directly connect to a variety of APIs."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its dashboard."
"The major benefit of using Zoho Analytics in our organization is that before implementation, we didn't have any insights or data security and integration capabilities."
"The variety of reports, tables, and dashboards that are automatically generated and ready to use are applicable to many different demands, saving a lot of time and allowing the business analyst to focus on content and insights."
"We track the sales funnel and set up graph charts and bar charts to analyze the number of leads received in the previous month compared to current leads, helping us figure out and analyze which campaigns are performing well."
"Its a fast tool to assist companies who do not want to spend on software developments."
"Ask Zia is a great feature that I use to quickly decide what improvements I need to make in order to present the data that I want to show."
"We really like that it's user friendly and has a lot of combinations and charts. They're good compared to other tools. We used a free Elastic product, comparatively, this solution is good because of their support, UI, and connecting to databases is very easy."

Cons

"Areas of Apache Superset that could be improved include enhancing the data visualization features and addressing the overall data sourcing limitations, such as the 800 kilobyte limit per query that sometimes restricts our analysis, especially if we need to access data from many years back."
"The scalability of Apache Superset has been one of the challenges for us. We deployed it onto a bigger machine because as the users grew, we experienced a delay in data retrieval."
"Dark mode would be the main thing I would like; it does not really work because the chart text cannot be white in a dark mode setup, so it is not feasible."
"Apache Superset could be improved by enhancing its interactivity and engagement capabilities."
"Building a full-fledged product or software as a service might be cumbersome due to performance limitations."
"Apache Superset needs more rich charting capabilities."
"Automation in terms of APIs for creating roles, and giving privileges to the user can be improved."
"With Apache Superset, we had some problems with the permissions when we had too many users."
"The analytics plans are very complex because they depend on the users, while other Zoho plans operate on a per-user basis."
"The customer service and support for this solution could be improved by faster response times."
"The hourly pricing needs improvement."
"It should have more options for graphics, if it stayed with the quality of graphs of excel, would be great."
"This solution does not support manufacturing facilities."
"The support team doesn't have full awareness of the system capabilities."
"I have a lower rating when it comes to Zoho Analytics. The tool has poor performance. It needs to improve the dimensions and measures."
"The platform's pricing needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Apache Superset is an open-source solution."
"The price of Apache Superset is less than some of its competitors."
"Apache Superset has a three-year licensing model."
"Apache Superset is open-source and free."
"I would recommend looking at your usage and whether the Zoho One license model would work for your organisation. It is very cost effective if you use other Zoho tools."
"This solution is reasonable as far as pricing is concerned."
"It is very reasonable, and it gives me a good return on investment. Compared to other tools, it is the best choice in terms of pricing."
"The pricing is okay. It is fair compared to the market."
"I don't feel that price is an issue for this product."
"The price is high. The solution advertises that it provides products for 55 AED per user, but these products contain only the basic features. Most of the features are locked. The version of the product that includes Zoho Analytics costs around 199 AED per user per month."
"For one license the pricing is about $35 a user."
"Zoho Analytics costs $ 4,200 per month, billed yearly."
