Have saved significant operational costs and streamlined alert-driven analytics with customizable dashboards
I definitely see some disadvantages in Apache Superset, particularly in the tagging feature which is not up to the mark, creating a little bit of mess for the administrators. We work with a Role-Based Access Control feature in the product. I assess this feature as good; they have permissions which are in more plain English, but there is a little bit of convenience missed out because if I have to create a super user apart from admin, I need to add all the permissions manually.

Has supported trend analysis and forecasting but needs major fixes in customization and reliability
There are some areas where Zoho Analytics needs improvement compared to Power BI. Uploading and interpreting data inside the interface needs enhancement. While Power BI uses Power Query, an intuitive and powerful tool that allows data manipulation in any way, Zoho Analytics has limitations. I usually prepare data in Excel before uploading it to Zoho Analytics. The charts in Zoho Analytics are not as customizable as in Power BI. While all chart types are available, they can only be modified at a basic level, not an advanced level. Though trend analysis features are provided, creating anything out of the box is challenging.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When you click on any chart, you can apply the filter without any effort."
"The solution supports a rich set of charts and enables users to create their own dashboards."
"The most valuable feature of Apache Superset is the easy way to configure dashboards as reports or analyses and it's easy to use and intuitive. Users do not need a lot of training to use the solution."
"The main benefit I have seen from working with Apache Superset so far is the speed from discovery and SQL to making charts and dashboards, along with its customizability."
"Apache Superset is a lightweight reporting tool with a lot of functions and flexibility, where you can build the dataset, build charts, and dashboards from the user interface."
"It's very easy, reliable, and trustable because it's an Apache open-source product."
"What I appreciate the most about Apache Superset is that it's free and easy to set up."
"What I appreciate most about Apache Superset is its text search feature, including searching with small and capital letters."
"What I appreciate most about Zoho Analytics is the pivot table functionality, as in the pivot table and scheduler table, if we want data in one report, we can use an SQL query and get data from different modules."
"The collaborative features in Zoho Analytics have fostered data-driven decision-making within my team and our customers' teams by enabling seamless communication and shared insights."
"I like the way I can share dashboards and embed dashboards. I normally use embedding. So, I create a dashboard, and I embed it into specific websites. Sharing of the dashboard is seamless, and it is easier than any other visualization platform, even Tableau."
"Zoho Analytics's most valuable feature is the ability to provide excellent analytics through a single platform."
"The best feature is that in the same tool, we can use SQL and business intelligence capabilities."
"The benefits I've seen from using Zoho Analytics include saving time; this is the most important benefit for me as I don't need to do my analytics or revisit a report repeatedly every month or according to the frequency of the requirement."
"Customer Service: Excellent. the support team have been very helpful, on one occasion even writing a particularly complex query for me, Technical Support: Excellent"
"This has given our sales team direct motivation, allowing us to reach new sales milestones."

Cons

"When comparing Apache Superset with Elasticsearch and Solar Search, it lacks some features that come with Elasticsearch, such as Kibana."
"Automation in terms of APIs for creating roles, and giving privileges to the user can be improved."
"The scalability of Apache Superset has been one of the challenges for us. We deployed it onto a bigger machine because as the users grew, we experienced a delay in data retrieval."
"Dynamic dashboarding could improve to enable smooth navigation when transitioning from a higher to a lower view, allowing for easy accessibility."
"One potential area for improvement in Apache Superset is that it must be installed in a dedicated Docker image, which could be a limitation since the goal is to embed Apache Superset in a product offering."
"The platform's reporting feature needs enhancement."
"Apache Superset needs more rich charting capabilities."
"Dark mode would be the main thing I would like; it does not really work because the chart text cannot be white in a dark mode setup, so it is not feasible."
"This solution does not support manufacturing facilities."
"In terms of improvement, they have a limited number of graphs available in their store. They should come up with more graph style forms. They should have more charts and at the same time, you can't create panels like with Microsoft BA."
"The support team doesn't have full awareness of the system capabilities."
"One major issue I face in Zoho Analytics is related to pivot tables. When using two text fields, such as client and project, with numerical data, sorting becomes impossible."
"The support for Zoho Analytics is pathetic."
"There should be more types of graphics available for use in the reports."
"I find it very difficult to handle more than two subqueries or CTE, as I can only have one subquery in the SQL code."
"The navigation on the interface is not intuitive."

"The product is expensive."
"It is very reasonable, and it gives me a good return on investment. Compared to other tools, it is the best choice in terms of pricing."
"The tool's pricing is similar to other Zoho applications and is affordable."
"I would recommend looking at your usage and whether the Zoho One license model would work for your organisation. It is very cost effective if you use other Zoho tools."
"The pricing is okay. It is fair compared to the market."
"The product's licensing is reasonable."
"Zoho Analytics costs $ 4,200 per month, billed yearly."
"An exact ROI is hard to calculate. However, we have definitely made sales that would have been much harder, or unlikely, as a result of the speed with which we were able to prepare comprehensive analysis."
