Pricing competitiveness and remote management have enhanced network flexibility
One of the most valued aspects of Aruba access points is their price competitiveness; they are available at half the price of Juniper access points. Additionally, they do not require any kind of license for implementation. Despite this, many customers have their own firewall, and they can control everything from their firewall, ensuring flexibility. Furthermore, the ease of management with Aruba access points enables customers to connect them directly to their network via a PoE switch and manage them remotely from mobile devices.

Reliable and high-performance wireless networking with exceptional stability, scalability, and robust feature set
One of the most valuable features I appreciate is auto channelization, facilitated by a proprietary product called ChannelFly. This feature enables APs in a specific zone to automatically adjust their channels, optimizing performance. Additionally, Ruckus Wireless stands out for its ability to reuse certain beams, resulting in smaller data spots. In my experience with various products, Ruckus Wireless consistently delivers unparalleled throughput, coverage, and reliability in wireless networking across different environments. As a noteworthy point, the newly launched WiFi 7 standard is measured against Ruckus's WiFi 7 AP, establishing it as the global benchmark. When it comes to WiFi, Ruckus sets the standard, outperforming competitors with its superior performance and capabilities.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We like the flexibility and the security, and the product is very easy to use."
"The main strengths of Aruba Access Points lie in their connectivity, range, and straightforward configuration. Setting up the access point is a quick process, taking only seconds. Standard features such as identity access management, captive deploy tools, and VLE are available. Additionally, Aruba offers medical-grade access points like the 400 series, which is well-suited for healthcare or hospital environments. One noteworthy feature is the impressive handshaking capability, particularly when transitioning between access points. This ensures a seamless experience without disconnection, especially when a well-designed heat map is in place. Aruba Access Points are robust and require minimal maintenance, making them reliable for long-term use."
"The integration with robust network switches is valuable."
"It is a stable solution."
"Aruba Access Points is an easy-to-use solution."
"The interest funds are valuable."
"Aruba is a controller-based solution. We have some multi-story buildings. We only need to maintain one controller, and we can manage it from a single IP address."
"Aruba Access Points are reliable and easy to implement."
"Good connection quality."
"Ruckus has allowed us to deploy better Wi-Fi coverage in the past few years."
"Performance-wise, it's great."
"We are able to quickly identify Rogue WAPs in our network and move to disconnect them immediately when Ruckus alerts us."
"The solution enhances the user experience."
"Dead zones were immediately eliminated when we deployed these WAPs in all of our locations, plus Ruckus’ analytics on the ZoneDirectors allow us to quickly identify clients that are taking too much bandwidth."
"The most valuable features are the coverage and durability."
"Tremendous throughput and easy installation, configuration, and monitoring."

Cons

"Aruba Access Points should improve its automation."
"The support from Aruba, as well as the overall HPE unit, has been lacking. The regional head and hepatic services are nonresponsive, leading to a decline in market share. While Aruba is recognized for its top-notch quality, especially in switching technology, the services and support in the African region need significant improvement. There is a suggestion to focus on enhancing services, support, and presale activities in this region to address the challenges faced by customers, particularly in healthcare. Continued emphasis on research and development, along with addressing regional issues, is recommended for sustained success."
"Since we are in health care, it would be beneficial to have enhanced security features around medical devices and IoT, especially for improving the visibility of medical devices within the WiFi network."
"The product should provide more coverage."
"There should be enhancements to support open Wi-Fi technology for seamless authentication across different access points."
"The delivery timeline is a major problem. There are also configuration and integration issues since not many engineers are available in the market who has expertise with the product. Some of our customers also experience network slowness."
"The product is highly priced. They could improve pricing."
"Going with a cloud solution will make dependency no longer a challenge from a connectivity point of view."
"Sometimes doing mass changes on their products can be challenging."
"I suggest more controlling features on the controller. The menu of the performance must be improved, as well."
"One complaint that we have is the lack of cloud-based management."
"I would like to see newer on-premises controller-type models, similar to the 3000."
"It would be nice if there was a way to compare access points and hardware so you can always get the same level of performance."
"The product licensing could be improved."
"It would be ideal if the solution offered more features."
"Ruckus should have an option to migrate existing licenses from an old controller to a new purchase; presently, this is not possible."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Users have to pay a licensing fee for Aruba Access Points, which could be cheaper."
"Overall, I would say the pricing is reasonable and meets our expectations."
"I rate the pricing a six out of ten because it's not cheap or expensive."
"It is a reasonably priced tool."
"I implemented seven access points in 2015, and I only spent $6,000 for the whole project."
"The product's licensing cost is low. However, hardware is costly. Thus, it is overall expensive."
"My company needs to pay around 50,000 JPY to 1,00,000 JPY towards the licensing costs of the product on a monthly basis. Additional payments are to be made towards the maintenance and support costs of the product."
"The solution's pricing is nominal and not as costly as Cisco's."
"The tool’s pricing is competitive with other alternative solutions’ pricing."
"The price could be better. Normally, if you find customers paying for cost-effective wireless solutions, Ruckus devices are a little expensive compared to other vendors."
"Cost-wise, the product is priced above average, considering its competitors in the market."
"Not all of our clients can afford a fully corporate solution like Ruckus. But for many of our clients, pricing is the only factor that prevents them from choosing Ruckus, as we have found Ruckus to be a very suitable and reliable solution for integrating wireless access points to a company's network."
"The pricing is the biggest issue with Ruckus wireless. It's so expensive, but Ruckus are just the best."
"The cost can be prohibitive for many as it is a high-end product in the WiFi market."
"The price is reasonable."
"The only complaint I have about Ruckus is the price, but considering other enterprise WiFi products are similarly priced, I feel Ruckus is a superior product."
