Sentiment score
7.9
F5 BIG-IP APM is highly scalable, supporting thousands of users efficiently, ideal for enterprises with minimal maintenance required.
I believe the scalability of ClearPass is rated as ten out of ten.
In our environment, ClearPass handles up to 100,000 users, which is better than some other NAC solutions like Fortinox that scale up to 25,000.
Once the policy is defined, scaling works automatically and is fast.
I would rate the scalability of F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) between seven and eight.

Sentiment score
8.6
Aruba ClearPass is widely trusted for stability and reliability, with high performance ratings and quickly resolved issues.
Sentiment score
7.9
F5 BIG-IP APM is praised for stability and reliability, despite minor logging issues with underlying LTM software.
On a scale from one to ten for stability, I would rate F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) a ten.
Sometimes, the logs are not quite informational or easy to understand.

Room For Improvement

Aruba ClearPass needs user interface and integration enhancements, improved support, better scalability, simplified administration, and refined licensing models.
F5 BIG-IP APM needs cloud service enhancements, better GUI, detailed reporting, efficient support, and improved integration and documentation.
The language and policy enforcement mechanisms are not clear, making it difficult to use the product effectively.
I don't see any limitations in ClearPass.
It is also better to improve threat intelligence for built-in threat detection and prevention.
If I could copy and paste objects instead of picking and configuring them from scratch each time, it would be great.
F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM) does not have a direction for SaaS.

Setup Cost

Aruba ClearPass is considered costly with complex licensing, but many find its value justifies the expense compared to alternatives.
F5 BIG-IP Access Policy Manager is costly but has improved licensing clarity, with moderate user satisfaction on pricing.
We cannot mix in prices, and of course, prices are going higher.
Aruba ClearPass is a premium product with higher pricing, which seems unnecessary given its complexity.
Achieving the best price requires careful selection from a menu of licensing options.

Valuable Features

Aruba ClearPass excels in flexible security features, integration, user-friendly management, network visibility, and supports multi-vendor environments cost-effectively.
F5 BIG-IP APM excels in customization, security, performance, and integration, making it ideal for financial and educational institutions.
The ClearPass solution has reduced the amount of engineering time compared to previous solutions, making it more efficient for our purposes.
The most effective feature for us is the OnGuard feature.
APM is quite flexible for customers to use, providing secure remote access through various host-checking conditions for both machines and users.
A lot of features are useful to me, including mostly the authentication, SAML, or SSO, with no sign-on.

Offers remote access control, good GUI and easy to configure
I'd suggest improved documentation integration directly within the GUI. Right now, finding comprehensive documentation often requires going to external websites like the community portal. In the APM interface itself, they could add direct hyperlinks to relevant online documentation. This would provide easy access to admin guides and other resources when working within the GUI.
