Has a free version, is secure and reliable
I'm a consultant. I recommend free Avast, then ESET. If they want to be more secure, you can go to ESET, the bigger license. If you want to have a cheap license, Avast is good. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. I do prefer ESET, however. Yet I would recommend either product as they are both pretty good.

Good user behavioral analysis and helpful patching but needs better support services
Some of our products have a first and second line owned by us. We are giving support services to the customers instead of the vendor. Some other products are supported directly by the technology vendor, however. Technical support from the vendor is very bad. Usually, when the customer submits a ticket, they put a severity level on the case. Whenever the case is very important, and there is a real malfunction in the product on the customer side, and there is something down that needs someone to have a look immediately, it takes more time than it should to even engage with the customer. When someone has to contact the customer and have a remote session within the customer environment, they sometimes lack in terms of communication with the customer. The support centers are located in the East and not all have an acceptable level of English in order to communicate directly with the customer.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Our favorite feature is the PC Patch Management."
"It's not heavy on the system."
"It warns you if there is a threat and it's perfect because it runs in the background and doesn't interfere with anything."
"The performance is good compared to other products that slow down the laptop, post-installation."
"It's straightforward to set up."
"The solution is easy to use."
"It has increased productivity. IT threats are kept at a minimum because of this product."
"Avast Business Endpoint Protection's best feature is its user-friendliness."
"The most valuable feature is the centralized console where everything can be controlled by the administration."
"We really like the dashboard from Trellix and we've found that it's pretty informative."
"It's quite easy to install agents."
"The solution is a reliable and mature product. Its reporting function is robust, and the user interface is easy to use. End users can create customized reports with detailed reporting for any computer and export them in PDF or other formats. This reporting capability is very robust."
"I have found many of the features to be useful."
"We can manage everything from the central console and it is very easy."
"The solution scales well."
"A big advantage of McAfee Endpoint Security is the ability to manage very big environments. We are supporting environments with 200,000 to 300,000 endpoints. The ability to manage with one single console is very important for us. McAfee has phenomenally improved in terms of detection. It provides real-time detection and response with the error, Real Protect, and reputations. It is not only based on signatures but also on behavior analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning. We have environments that never had issues with ransomware in the last 20 years. McAfee has a very good performance in this field."

Cons

"The solution needs to be more secure and work to protect us better from people trying to mess with our systems."
"Making the price a bit cheaper would be an improvement."
"It reduces network and bandwidth speed."
"It could download faster during deployment."
"Where I have faced a challenge is on the reporting. I would like to see something that provides information regarding the next month or quarter, in terms of reporting."
"It should have proper and timely updates to deal with new viruses as they come onto the market."
"Avast Business Endpoint Protection would be improved with more frequent updates."
"I would like to see better protection and more spyware included with the free version."
"McAfee GW Security and McAfee Child Safety need some improvement as they are relatively new."
"With McAfee, if there is a zero-day vulnerability, you have to download the patch for it from the McAfee website, then apply it to your endpoint."
"It would be helpful if the controlling of connections coming to the PC could be done from McAfee's side so that we can block those connections."
"While we are pleased with the endpoint solution, there should also be a separate one for the firewall."
"I would like to see more integration with third-party products."
"We have a lot of problems with the user experience and it's difficult to implement. MacAfee's better than the ancient anti-virus solutions but it's a little slow to resolve. Many files with malware were destroyed through the network, and MacAfee doesn't detect anything."
"What needs improvement in Trellix Endpoint Security is the reduction of resource consumption by the scanning feature. There should be daily signature updates for protection."
"The tool could provide more advanced protection."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is $75 per license for a year. There are no additional costs."

"If you become a partner, you will receive the wholesale price."
"I am using the free version."

"The price of the solution is fair, we have a complete security package."
"I would rate the cost as four to five, considering it's normal compared to other products. I find it nominal and worth the money."
"Compared to Bitdefender, Trellix Endpoint Security is more expensive, but considering it comes with DLP, the solution's price is fine."
"This product is costly."
"The pricing is comparable to other solutions on the market."
"I think Trellix is more on the higher side of the market, just on a general scale, but I also think it depends on what particular package you choose."
"Annual license fee is good"
"It's fairly priced compared to other products on the market."
