Automation has streamlined build and deployment workflows and provides clear project reporting
Regarding improvements for Bamboo, I can't think of anything right now. Bamboo is serving the purpose that we needed it for. I would say pipelines for model building could be an area of focus. However, I can't really comment on that because I haven't looked at Bamboo to assist with machine learning pipelines. If they haven't focused on building MLOps pipelines, that's definitely an area where they could assist businesses. I haven't looked at what Bamboo offers for MLOps, so it's possible that they've already built in features. Machine learning and AI are in big demand at the moment. If they haven't focused too much on MLOps, that's probably where they can improve.

Simplifies the pipeline process, but the access control system needs enhancement
One area of product improvement is the access control system. It is difficult to assign different access levels because it relies on separate keys for developer and admin access, which could be simplified. The folder structure is another aspect that could be enhanced, as all jobs are displayed on a single page without the clear organization seen in Jenkins. Implementing a more structured approach to organizing jobs would improve user experience. AI could simplify job creation. For example, instead of manually editing pipelines as code, an AI tool could allow users to input variables and automatically generate the required jobs. It would help reduce human errors, such as issues that arise from incorrect edits in large code files.

Pros

"Bamboo was used extensively in our organization for PCA compliance."
"One of the big things that made us choose Bamboo is it seamlessly integrates its APIs into NetSuite, which is our main ELP system, and the fact that it's integrated within Oracle products and can manage statutory people in our organization, with features and functionality that are all huge selling points."
"The most valuable feature of Bamboo is that it is a good tool for CI/CD integration."
"One of the significant benefits of Bamboo is its built-in support for numerous clients and the ability to tailor its capabilities to your specific requirements. This high level of customization enables you to create pipelines that are ideally suited to your needs, making it an invaluable tool for conducting advanced testing."
"The most useful feature of Bamboo is its integration with other solutions such as Jira and BitBucket, also offered by Atlassian, and it is easier to use tools all provided by one vendor."
"The main benefits Bamboo provides for me and my team are the automation to pick up code changes and automate the deployments, building images."
"The most valuable features are compiling and deployment."
"One of the big things that made us choose Bamboo, is it seamlessly integrates its APIs into NetSuite, which is our main ELP system."
"Permission separations mean that we can grant limited permissions for each team or team member."
"GoCD's open-source nature is valuable."
"It has a user-friendly interface, which for free and open-source tools, the UI is really amazing and simple."
"In terms of value added it has more than achieved everything we wanted from it and more."
"After we switched to GO, each team can set-up their own delivery pipeline and run it themselves."
"The most notable aspect is its user interface, which we find to be user-friendly and straightforward for deploying and comprehending pipelines. We have the ability to create multiple pipelines, and in addition to that, the resource consumption is impressive."
"The UI is colorful."

Cons

"The performance around the deployment feature could be improved."
"Bamboo is a bit complicated to use compared to other solutions, such as GitLab. You have to integrate different actions that are difficult that could be made easier."
"Bamboo could improve by having compatibility with GitLab. It would be better to have this platform for deploying code and storing container registries. Bamboo does not have a container registry. Additionally, there could be more features added."
"From my personal experience regarding scalability and the ability to scale, I find that sometimes the agents run out of resources and then it takes quite a while to get additional infrastructure."
"Bamboo can improve by providing more with scripting, such as they have with Jenkins. Bamboo is more UI-driven at this time, Jenkins is going in that direction too."
"Bamboo can improve by providing more with scripting, such as they have with Jenkins."
"It's a little outdated. It's three years old."
"The tool is not capable of using YAML efficiently."

"The aspect that requires attention is the user management component. When integrating with BitLabs and authenticating through GitLab, there are specific features we desire. One important feature is the ability to import users directly from GitLab, along with their respective designations, and assign appropriate privileges based on that information. Allocating different privileges to users is a time-consuming process for us."
"The tool must be more user-friendly."
"It is difficult to assign different access levels because it relies on separate keys for developer and admin access, which could be simplified."
"User management, Documentation, Advanced GUI functionality."
"The documentation really should be improved by including real examples and more setup cases."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a subscription required to use Bamboo."
"The server products for small teams used to offer excellent pricing. However, Atlassian has since changed the offering and the pricing is more expensive. I do still think the solution offers good value for money."
"I rate the solution's pricing a three out of five."
"The price of Bamboo is reasonable."
"I rate the product’s pricing a five out of ten."
"If Bamboo could provide more flexibility on pricing, that would help. On the agent side, if you want to increase the number of agents it should be less expensive. If they can provide some better pricing model, it will help, whether we are going to use it or are already using it."
"This is an open-source solution and it is inexpensive."
"It's an open-source and free tool."
