Instantly blocked and reduced our spam emails
The solution has to improve in a very specific way. When we allow our customers to send or scan email through our Barracuda Email Security Gateway, we are permitting their email server IP address, but not any domain. One of our customers has an email server where they are hosting five domains within their server. They are sending and receiving email through that server by using Barracuda Email Security Gateway. Therefore, we allow their IP address to send email through our Barracuda Email Security Gateway, then we declare MX for receiving email on behalf of our customers. After receiving the email, we deliver it to the specific IP address of the customer. Since we are only allowing the IP address, if an incident happens within a customer's email server or an email server gets compromised, then it starts sending spam. That creates a huge problem for the solution as it allows all emails because the customer's IP address is allowed to relay email through our Barracuda Email Security Gateway. Barracuda should add an option where it can add multiple domains, such as abc.com, bbc.com, and cbc.com. Therefore, this domains' emails will be allowed and other domains' emails will not be relayed through Barracuda Email Security Gateway. Whereas, if you allow the IP address, then any of the domain's emails will be relayed through Barracuda Email Security Gateway. That is the drawback that I have observed. So, Barracuda should work on this.

Has an easy implementation phase to deal with for users
I primarily use the product in our daily security operations since it is implemented in all of our company's systems and is used in our environment. Normally, email security tools like FireEye or Trellix help to protect ourselves from spam, malware, and other email-oriented threats. The tool is used extensively in our company's environment. It is more like a collaboration email security that is used in our company. Whether my company plans to increase the number of users of the product or not is something that depends on the growth of the organization. I recommend the product to those who plan to use it. The product is stable and reliable, considering the results my company gets out of it. When it comes to Trellix or FireEye Endpoint Security (HX), the tools offer antivirus as well as the modern real-time security feature, which is used to automate the detection and protection of the endpoints against all the security threats that are currently there in the industry. I don't see any challenges with the integration part of the product, but since a different team manages it, I don't have visibility into it. In terms of the value offered by the product, the solution does help our company protect data and the complete infrastructure. I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Cons

"Barracuda should add an option where it can add multiple domains, such as abc.com, bbc.com, and cbc.com. So, Barracuda should work on this."
"Its integration with other solutions can be improved. There should be integration for telemetry information, system information, and other types of information with other solutions. Barracuda currently doesn't have that. Barracuda has its own platform. Its integration with firewalls is quite good, and it communicates really well with firewalls, but I have not seen any other integration. Based on what I know, it does have an API at the backend, but I have not used it."
"My customers were sending OPT bulk emails and Barracuda Email Security Gateway was not able to handle it. We have to go with another different solution, such FortiMail for the task. We are implementing these combinations of the Barracuda and FortiGate, for email security. The FortiGate FortiMail security gateway we use to send only the bulk email, not for receiving emails."
"Spam is not always detected, and it should be more automated. We have seen that some emails are allowed by these emails, which are then stopped by Microsoft."
"Some of the phishing emails are not being blocked. Another problem is that we are not able to manage the date and time in our time zone."
"The solution should include an improvised anti-phishing feature, since it blocks certain genuine emails."
"The initial setup can be a little bit complex."
"I have noticed that it takes a little time to get familiar with after deploying and some tweaks need to be done as things come up."
"I would like to see this solution become more flexible."
"The reporting aspect of the solution needs improvement."
"If they want to be the primary or best solution, they need to have better email management features."
"There is a need for improved integration with totally different products, such as a rapid server."
"Sometimes especially zero-day spam emails can be passed to the user's inbox."
"The solution must provide features to scan QR codes for threats."
"Sometimes, integration can be challenging, impacting its stability, which is why I rate it a five out of ten."
"The custom tailoring is limited."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Barracuda Email Security Gateway is a cost-effective solution."
"The price of the solution should be reduced. The price in the USA is less than where we are. Our local distributor of the solution is manipulating the market."
"The price of Barracuda Email Security Gateway is approximately $17 per user annually."
"For overall value and cost, Barracuda came in as most appropriate, price as well as services provided. In terms of price, it's average . It's not the most expensive, it's not the least expensive but it works well."
"Compared to other products, this solution is quite affordable."
"This is one of the major points for integrating this solution in any organization. Barracuda Email Security Gateway needs to make it a bit more tolerable for customers because it is increasing every year. They should create a plan for reducing the cost."
"We find the solution's pricing okay."
"We typically purchase a one or three-year license for Barracuda Email Security Gateway."
"The solution requires a license to be purchased for every user."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis."
"The cost is very high."
"I rate the product price as nine out of ten, where ten is the most expensive, and one is the cheapest. There is no need to pay any extra charges apart from the licensing costs."
