Provides strong code management and tracking features for development teams
We use Bitbucket Server in the company. Since I'm not using Bitbucket Server every day, it's more my technicians, developers, and engineers using it. I would need to talk with them first. We use Jira integration with Bitbucket Server, but I'm running out of time. I would need to discuss the satisfaction with these integrations with my technical product owners because they are more involved in this than I am right now. I believe installing Bitbucket Server is quite easy, but I'm not doing the installation or integration. I'm just working with other people who do that. I couldn't provide points for technical support because I haven't been in contact with them much. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Bitbucket Server an 8.

Offers integration with multiple databases, stable product and reduced our manual intervention
I would recommend using it. To learn Liquibase, one should have some database knowledge. If the person is from a DBA background, they would be able to learn quickly. But if they are from an application or infrastructure role, it's medium complex. Before getting started, you should thoroughly go through the documentation and follow the latest changes deployed by the Liquibase product team. Basically, when using the product, you should be able to understand it and stay updated on the latest releases. Overall, I would rate the product a nine out of ten. Organizations should have this kind of tool to reduce manual intervention. The one point they could improve on is documentation, which they haven't clarified, and they need to work on that a lot.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Bitbucket Server integrates well with other products."
"The most valuable feature is that it has its own pipelines."
"Its standout features are the seamless integration with various intelligent tools and its user-friendly nature."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is server management."
"The initial setup is straightforward. It takes half an hour to deploy."
"The product’s most valuable features are private repositories and the ability to work as a proxy for implementing CI/CD pipelines."
"The most valuable feature of the Bitbucket Server is its ease of management. The solution is easy to manage once we migrate and set up the data. The solution offers a fast code push feature."
"It is an amazingly stable solution."
"It will be useful for teams to automate and reduce manual work."
"The solution is easy to use, and it has very clear documentation."
"They have some nice features around the automation of rule checking. They have a rules engine that checks the SQL code so that you can actually do your edit checks on the validity of the SQL code. If you don't want certain tables to be able to have certain things done to them, you can have it checked for that. It's a very flexible way to kind of do an automated peer review of the SQL code to catch things before you actually try to deploy it."

Cons

"There are absolutely things that could be improved in collaboration features in Bitbucket Server, with respect to people who are not using it every day, such as managers who need to be able to approve things but don't use Bitbucket Server so often."
"We opted for the on-premises solution, and while it's quite expensive, I believe there's room for improvement in terms of pricing."
"If I want to mail someone a master branch, then sometimes it shows some conflict with other codes in the master branch."
"The solution's user interface could be improved because it's not very user-friendly or intuitive."
"Bitbucket Server has limited user support for its free version. It is expensive."
"There might be further integration ideas for continuous deployment."
"The product interface consists of multiple features that are complicated to navigate for new users."
"Enhancing the real-time reflection of changes online is an area that could benefit from improvement."
"We were not able to delete some of the tables because of a security issue."
"The pricing is quite high."
"One thing we faced issues with is that Liquibase does not show the exact error, which added to the complexity."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We opted for the on-premises solution, and while it's quite expensive, I believe there's room for improvement in terms of pricing. The licensing is based on the number of users, but I'm not entirely certain about the details."
"There is a cost to use this solution but it is based on how many users are using it. If you have 50 users or 1,000 users the price will be very different."
"The solution comes as a part of the suite."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly. Prices can become expensive if you have a lot of users."
"One needs to pay towards the licensing charges associated with the product."
"Bitbucket Server is quite expensive compared to other products."
"The platform offers a free version for public repositories, which benefits open-source projects."
"As for licensing, Bitbucket is one of the more affordable options."
"The pricing is fair."
"Liquibase is an open-source solution."
