It helps us save on staff costs
I rate Blue Prism Cloud eight out of 10 for ease of setup. It's a cloud-based solution, so it isn't hard to set up. The deployment time is hard to quantify because I work for the government, and we need to go through all these internal reviews, but the technical part takes three to four weeks. The biggest challenge is security because we need to integrate it with Active Directory and set up VPN tunnels, security profiles, etc. We deployed Blue Prism in-house and used three people to set it up. One solution engineer is enough to maintain it.

Improves accuracy and has the easiest interface and good scalability
Orchestrator needs an overhaul. They have added so many functions that it is sometimes quite hard to find the right settings. They have a tree hierarchy with the host and the tenant. Some settings you do on the host, and some settings you do on the tenant. You need to know at which level you are to find what you need. It all looks very same. The other thing that I have been telling them for years is the width of the activity. You cannot change the width. I do a lot of training to show something, and I constantly have to go into the advanced editor to show what is in there, but the big thing right now is Orchestrator.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution comes with a lot of good features."
"The most valuable feature is the speed at which we are able to implement solutions that can interact through the user interface in the same way that a human being would."
"It is more secure for complex implementations."
"Once it does the monitor, it collects the respective data and creates an output that is required for reconfiguration."
"It provides good, clean data that enhances our AI initiatives."
"The ease of building automation and the development environment"
"Blue Prism is able to scale up at an enterprise-level. It's what I used when I was working for a big bank in Belgium."
"It's easy to use, the interface, the the the the queries is which we use. It's user friendly."
"UiPath has good recording features that help to create automations."
"Their core platform of Studio is valuable. The ease of use and the ability to build these automations quickly is definitely a highlight for us. Our average process from start to finish takes three to four weeks. We can knock out automations as quickly as we can identify them. That is probably the best feature I see."
"I like the Orchestrator and the AI Center. The AI Center has many pre-trained trained models you can adapt to your requirements."
"The ease of use of Studio is valuable. In terms of features, Excel Application Scope, web automation suite of products, and screen scraping are the features I use the most."
"Anything you can do on a computer with enough effort, you can get the robot to do it."
"The low to no-code is by far the most valuable feature."
"The solution is stable. I don't see any problems."
"Designing a chatbot would usually require some language coding and it would have to be deployed with certain front-end languages. But UiPath gives us the ability to automate this functionality with drag-and-drop features. That is the very best part, where UiPath is doing an amazing job."

Cons

"Blue Prism could be more efficient in its resource use. Having one LPR agent per virtual machine wastes resources. If we could execute many applications at the same time, it would improve and optimize the resource used."
"There are a few smart services that are not available in Blue Prism. For example, Excel sheets that are converted into a CS sheet have limitations with the number of columns when imported. This could be improved."
"Blue Prism Cloud is a solid product that fulfils its intended functions well. Although there is room for improvement, it has integrated various cognitive and intelligent document processing features into a single product. But needs to effectively automate RPA processes despite some initial challenges addressed through product updates and new features."
"Blue Prism should adopt a low-code approach. Most RPA vendors only provide what they call a "form builder." A low-code designer would enable us to build a custom UI."
"Blue Prism might consider adding package options to allow users to come onboard in different ways that meet their needs rather than buying in to the whole package."
"It takes a while to get up and running."
"If Blue Prism could integrate into Azure SQL because it's essentially an on-prem code, on infrastructure as a service. So, Blue Prism has moved the infrastructure into the cloud, but they haven't necessarily moved the application into cloud-native."
"Blue Prism Cloud could improve by having more innovations for the solution, such as more capability. I am looking for cloud-based services, such as Power Automate that we can recommend for cloud customers. UiPath and Automation Anywhere have more innovation in their solution."
"UiPath could do some optimization of how you search through your process flows."
"UiPath's pricing could be improved. The margins for us as a bottom-level tier partner are not great, which can be a hindrance, particularly when we present it to the customer. Other than that, I don't have any areas of improvement at the moment due to our limited experience. Maybe after six months to a year, we might have more feedback."
"There are cases where because of the UiPath upgrade, some of the activity features get upgraded, and the processes that we have designed using an older version of UiPath don't run after the upgrade. In such scenarios, we have to downgrade and use only the older version. We have seen issues in that part. It's good to add new features, but that shouldn't impact the existing development of processes that we have done for our end users."
"Some of our employees also use MacBook devices for their daily work, mostly for high-graphic projects. UiPath doesn't have a complex set of features for OS X systems. If they could add more complex features for MacBooks, that would be good."
"We have seen that UiPath doesn't have the capability to identify unknown pop-ups. This needs improvement."
"The vendor can improve the solution by building up the BA path included in the UI Academy courses. There's too much focus on development, but not enough on BAs, scrum masters, and project managers alike."
"UiPath support needs to be a bit quicker than it is currently."
"UiPath could improve its services and account management."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing structure is complex and the minimum contract length is three years."
"Blue Prism Cloud's cost is very high."
"There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive."
"We pay about $15,000 per quarter in licensing costs. We don't have to pay for any other extra costs. There isn't, for example, an extra cost for technical support. We just pay the licensing."
"I am not sure how we are set up today, but I recall we had an annual License."
"The price is very competitive when you are comparing to other providers."
"We found the pricing reasonable, and it aligned with our budgetary requirements."
"I rate the platform’s pricing a seven out of ten."
"We also had to pay for Bloomberg Automation in order to effectively utilize UiPath in our organization."
"UiPath is expensive."
"A robot license costs $6,000 USD per year, or $10,000 NZD."
"It is cheaper than Microsoft Power Automate and saves us between 50 and 70 percent on costs. UiPath's pricing is moderate and something everyone can afford."
"The licensing cost is high."
"Blue Prism definitely has a simpler licensing structure, but I feel like that's almost a shot in the foot at certain points. It also gets kind of deceptive. There's a crossover point at which, if you're scaling up to a high number of bots, UiPath path definitely does come out cheaper. But the initial implementation has a higher cost."
"UiPath is expensive compared to other solutions like AutomationEdge, which is cheap. Last year, it wasn't too high, but I believe they updated their licensing model, making it very costly."
"The solution isn't very expensive."
