Supports seamless authentication for users across multiple organizations and personal portals
The features I use in Cisco Duo include Duo Pushes to confirm my identity to the device, and eventually as MFA security was increased, I actually had to use exchange passcodes. Sometimes, I have to go into the site and get into Cisco Duo to retrieve the passcode, and many of them have been two-factor, where the sites send a passcode that I have to enter into Cisco Duo. It has been more of the latter. I have not seen issues with lagging or crashing on Cisco Duo's end; it was usually on the client end, often because someone set up a bad upgrade or there were connection issues with the Cisco Duo cloud through the administrative site.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The app has greater stability than rival solutions such as Google Authenticator, and Duo Push authentication is a valuable feature."
"The feature of Cisco Duo that I prefer the most is the policies, being able to control what we need to within the policies."
"Regarding the stability and reliability of Cisco Duo, it is very good."
"I appreciate the secured push feature of Cisco Duo, which requires you to choose a number, because it enhances the security of your users, especially when combined with geolocation for a Verified Push, benefiting my company and our customers by making logins much more secure."
"Duo Security simplified establishing trusted connections, making it easier to implement distributed network solutions."
"It is very easy. Having just wrapped up my tenure at Cisco, it was used day in and day out for security. It was always easy to log in and not have to worry about logging in multiple times."
"The thing that I appreciate the most about Cisco Duo is the ease of setup."
"It's simple. It's reliable. I haven't had any issues with it."
"It is a good solution for token identification."
"It stands out as a comprehensive and adaptable solution that excels in both on-premises and cloud-based authentication, offers strong security with multi-layered authentication, and boasts a well-maintained product with reliable performance."
"RSA Authentication Manager is a robust solution that provides comprehensive protection for both on-premise and cloud-based applications."
"The single sign-on feature is the most important."
"I have found RSA Authentication Manager to be scalable."
"RSA Authentication Manager is the best available solution."
"I have found RSA Authentication Manager to be scalable."
"Easy setup, deployment, and integration in different infrastructures, including virtual ones."

Cons

"Smart Licensing needs improvement. It's terrible. We have problems with it every year and we need to involve support to fix it."
"The only thing I can think of to improve for tech support is to have a dedicated engineer but then I would get an engineer that has priorities in one area or another and maybe not the scope I need."
"We found it difficult to integrate it into our broader product family of Microsoft tools and other applications used across our organization."
"Technical support could be improved. I don't think all support should have to go through an agreement."
"An enhancement they might make is if they can log it to Splunk since they're big into Splunk. Instead of me having to go into that portal to look at things when someone is trying to log in and they forgot their password, I can look in and tell them they forgot their password or didn't respond to the prompt. That would be an improvement."
"I believe Cisco Duo needs to be improved on the delay process because there is a delay when we send a Duo Push or when we are signing into any applications."
"There is always room for improvement."
"Duo Security should have more customized use cases. For example, if a client needs to have more customization, it would be better to connect directly with Duo's R&D to try to discuss the issues together in order to add customizations."
"My observation over the years is that the system upgrades can be complicated and must be well planned out to address 'what if' issues, including backing off upgrades if necessary."
"There is room for improvement in the RSA support."
"We are not planning on using the solution in the future."
"The price needs to be improved."
"We have encountered issue when trying to expand this particular solution for a large set of users across the country."
"The reporting needs to be improved, and they should be delivered by email."
"We found technical support was not very responsive to our requests for assistance."
"Perhaps parts of the user interface should become more intuitive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cisco's licensing is always a bit complicated to understand, but the price is fair. It could be more expensive than others, but the way they integrate everything, it has a fair price."
"Their pricing model is a little bit weird. Currently, there is no price advantage in signing up for yearly contracts. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing costs."
"The cost was reasonable. Licensing was pretty straightforward for a change."
"Cisco has the most expensive products because market leaders tend to charge a lot."
"Overall, the pricing is fair. Customers can wrap it into their Enterprise Agreement, making it easier for them to solve their issues."
"It's a bit confusing because we're on a three-year plan with a certain number of licenses, and we've gone over that number. They told us that when we renew, they will add all these licenses. We've expanded quickly, so everyone's kind of scared because no one knows what the bill is with the long pricing cycle."
"Its price is reasonable. It is not highly expensive."
"Our licensing fee is currently on an annual basis."
"The pricing is a little bit complicated because sometimes resellers are able to make prices that are too low. Our price, with a discount, is typically not as high as some of our competitors."
"As a new customer, the minimum cost would be four dollars, but you have room for negotiation, potentially bringing it down to as low as three dollars."
"The solution is costly."
