Supports seamless authentication for users across multiple organizations and personal portals
The features I use in Cisco Duo include Duo Pushes to confirm my identity to the device, and eventually as MFA security was increased, I actually had to use exchange passcodes. Sometimes, I have to go into the site and get into Cisco Duo to retrieve the passcode, and many of them have been two-factor, where the sites send a passcode that I have to enter into Cisco Duo. It has been more of the latter. I have not seen issues with lagging or crashing on Cisco Duo's end; it was usually on the client end, often because someone set up a bad upgrade or there were connection issues with the Cisco Duo cloud through the administrative site.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Duo offers dual-factor authentication for our logins; I put in my credentials and hit go, then I get an alert on my Apple Watch and approve it, and that part is just phenomenal."
"For me, the biggest return on investment when using Cisco Duo is my time."
"In my opinion, the best features Cisco Duo offers include its 2FA authentication, which is very good, everything is perfect about the features, it is very easy to use, and the integration with other systems is very good."
"The thing that I appreciate the most about Cisco Duo is the ease of setup."
"Duo Security provides a high level of certainty regarding the identity of the individual performing an action. Whether it's logging into a system, using VPN, or utilizing Autopay, establishing that trust is crucial. I can't imagine any security company, organization, or IT team that wouldn't prioritize having multifactor authentication enabled when accessing critical systems."
"Looking back at my initial investment in Cisco Duo versus the total value it has delivered over time, I see that it has paid more than what we invested, so we are getting a good return and a good service with improved security."
"Cisco Duo just works; that is the best feature."
"Cisco Duo is an excellent solution to protect our network."
"The single sign-on feature is the most important."
"The technical support has been great; their service is perfect."
"I have found RSA Authentication Manager to be scalable."
"In 2005 we started with a managed authentication service for three small companies with each having approx. 250 users, and now we have 25 large enterprises/government departments with over 150,000 authenticating users and an uptime of nearly 100% over the last five years."
"The product has addressed our remote access security needs while making our work force mobile thus enhancing productivity and customer service initiatives."
"RSA Authentication Manager is the best available solution."
"The most valuable feature is the SecurID."
"It is a stable solution. I would rate the stability a nine out of ten."

Cons

"Cisco Duo has not helped my company reduce its overall authentication-related costs, as it is a cost above what we already have."
"There could be improvements made to the dashboards and more integration with the rest of the Cisco ecosystem."
"I am not certain how Cisco Duo has helped me evolve in my IAM strategy from simple authentication to a more comprehensive identity security platform."
"I believe Cisco Duo needs to be improved on the delay process because there is a delay when we send a Duo Push or when we are signing into any applications."
"Sometimes, it's a little harder for customers to adopt."
"The deployment experience was more difficult than we expected because we had some problems with the version of the OS that we have in our servers."
"Duo Security could improve by being more compatible with other vendors."
"I wouldn't mind seeing some options for remembering a device for a short period of time or a specific login, particularly for administrative engineering staff, as we may be logging in to four or five different services."
"The price needs to be improved."
"Perhaps parts of the the user interface should become more intuitive."
"We have encountered issue when trying to expand this particular solution for a large set of users across the country."
"The reporting needs to be improved, and they should be delivered by email."
"We are seeing a lot of difficult issues in terms of RSA, especially the cloud-based two-factor authentication process."
"We found technical support was not very responsive to our requests for assistance."
"There is room for improvement in the RSA support."
"The product's capabilities to protect cloud environments need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price is reasonable. It is not highly expensive."
"During testing we are allowed a certain number of licenses for free."
"My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing of Cisco Duo has been great. We've been there for 10 years. While we haven't gone through the setup part for a while, licensing is straightforward and convenient for higher education because student populations are included. So, we don't have to pay extra for it. We just pay for our knowledge workers, which has been great, and the cost is reasonable."
"From a reseller perspective, it's still challenging to explain the whole license strategy to a client, so we really have to be ahead of that for all the true forward conversations."
"I only need the solution for IT staff, which makes it relatively cheap. If I deployed it for the whole company, it would be costly, so it depends on the number of users. Duo Security is affordable compared to other products in the segment."
"The pricing was a lot more than what we were paying for our previous solution."
"Price-wise, the solution has been very, very reasonable...Licensing is the last thing I think about Duo Security because it's so easy, and I had no problems with it."
"Duo Security's pricing is good, fair, and very comparable to today's market."
"As a new customer, the minimum cost would be four dollars, but you have room for negotiation, potentially bringing it down to as low as three dollars."
"The solution is costly."
"The pricing is a little bit complicated because sometimes resellers are able to make prices that are too low. Our price, with a discount, is typically not as high as some of our competitors."
