It took us some time to realize its benefits because there was a learning curve for us. It took us about a year to get our heads around this product and start effectively using it. It is a journey. It takes at least five years for any company to make this product very useful and reach maturity. It is not only the product's fault. The company needs to have a vision, and the company culture needs to go with it. Senior leadership needs to support the vision. You need to have lots of ingredients for success. If everything is in place, you will see success after one year. In the first year, it is a struggle for everybody. My company was bought by a bigger company, and they were very new to privileged access management. Everybody was struggling. The advice I would give is to have a good vision for privileged access management. You need dedicated teams, senior management support, and proper company policies and standards before implementing the solution. Start building knowledge slowly and avoid jumping into the deep end without preparation. I would rate CyberArk Privileged Access Manager a nine out of ten.

Very good synchronization, good stability and good scalability
There are a few aspects of management that could be improved, however, I don't use them so much. It would be nice to have the solution localized in Europe. Dashlane is an American company. It's controlled by American laws and regulations that allows the American government to have full access to my data with Dashlane. That's why I am leaving Dashlane, because we can't accept such an important function in American control.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"CyberArk Privileged Access Management's most valuable features are primarily its password vault functionality, specifically CyberArk's Core Privileged Manager and Privileged Session Manager."
"The feature that I like the most is the Privileged Session Manager."
"It's highly secure and very flexible. It gives us all types of storage options and it gives us a high level of security."
"The biggest feature is the security of the overall solution. It's very secure. The vaulting technology and the number of security layers involved in the vault, where privileged accounts are actually stored, is the heart of the solution."
"AIM has been a great help in automating password retrieval which removes the need for hard-coded credentials."
"The threat analytics is an important feature."
"The technical support is good."
"The solution is stable."
"Dashlane's most valuable feature is Hotspot Shield, the VPN feature that allows you to connect securely to public wifi."
"I like the ability to share passwords without them being visible to other team members. The auto-fill capabilities are great too."
"The integration capabilities have been good."
"The synchronization is the solution's most valuable feature. It works really well. The ability to have secure notes is also very helpful."

Cons

"CyberArk has a lot on the privileged access side but they have to concentrate more on the application side as well."
"There were a lot of manual steps in the initial setup which could have been automated. I read the 10.4 release that was sent out about a month or two ago, and I saw the steps required for upgrade have been reduced by about 90%. That was a big thing for me, but I still haven't seen that yet because we have not upgrade past 9.9.5."
"I would like to see a simplification of the product."
"Upgrading the product is very difficult, so this could be an area for improvement."
"They can do a better job in the PSM space."
"There is some stuff that we still have not fully integrated, which is our AIM solution. We are having all types of issues with it. I have been working with Level 3 support on it, but otherwise, from a functionality perspective, everything has been working except for the AIM solution."
"There was a functionality of the solution that was missing. I had noticed it in Beyond Trust, but not in this solution. But, recently they have incorporated something similar."
"We require IAM (identify and access management) capability at the administrator level because we need more identification."
"It would be nice to have the solution localized in Europe. Dashlane is an American company. It's controlled by American laws and regulations that allows the American government to have full access to my data with Dashlane. That's why I am leaving Dashlane, because we can't accept such an important function in American control."
"The cost, while decent, of course, could always be less."
"The integration with the VPN feature could be smoother."
"There should also be an easier way to be able to transfer user data to other users who have kind of left the company."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is in line with its competitors, but all such solutions cost too much money."
"Pricing is a problem. CyberArk is expensive compared to other products I know. It is similar to buying a German car. It comes with all the bells and whistles, but some companies may find it too expensive."
"Its price is high. I have also worked with Delinea. CyberArk is comparatively expensive compared to other PAM solutions, such as Delinea, especially during renewal."
"The price of CyberArk support could be a little bit less. Otherwise, pricing is fine."
"I would rate CyberArk's pricing a nine out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions in the market, but it's worth it."
"This product is very expensive."
"CyberArk is good at what they do, and the price reflects that. You have to pay the price for the same."
"Pricing and licensing depend on the environment."
"It is a little bit on the expensive side."
