Managed threat detection efficiently with minimal resource usage
We used the solution as a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service. It detected threats, and the team managing our services took care of it. We did not face any major challenges or attacks, and memory utilization was minimal. It functioned very well Cynet was valuable since it efficiently…

Light and powerful solution design; useful to have
My impression is that the initial setup process is quite straightforward. If you know what you're using it for, the initial setup can be quite easy and the solution is not that hard to use. When it comes to the steps taken for the implementation, you would select the OS you're using and when the files are sent to the appliance you check, and in the appliance configuration, it must be like the visual governance environment. You must set up the OS you have so that appliance can scan or analyze your file. To maintain this solution, you must always have at least one all-around person tuning this solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup is simple and user-friendly."
"We are very satisfied with the level of performance we get."
"If some unusual activity happens on the network, such as I open administrator sessions in a short duration of an hour on many computers in the lab, it sends me an alert about my network saying that one user opened three, four, or five sessions in one hour. Similarly, if I try to play with the disk size on a computer, it will send me an alert, and it will also stop the operation."
"The most effective features of Cynet are its ransomware protection and lateral movement deception."
"I like that it is possible to use the solution to check more information about the users' devices."
"It provides good protection from ransomware and malware attacks. It is very good as compared to other products. If any threat is there, their support is very good. They immediately respond to the users and do a follow-up. They call us and also provide email support."
"The valuable aspects of Cynet are its EDR and XDR components, which are available at a reasonable price point."
"It's transparent, so it's not something where every user has to press a button to download or do the thing. It is centralized, in fact. Personally, I use Malwarebytes and other tools, which are fine for home use. Cynet is also relatively silent in terms of operation, except when it's required to act."
"The product is great. It can be deployed on the cloud or on-premises."
"The solution extracts an attached file before reaching the user and notifies the user if there's something malicious in the attachment received along with an email."
"FortiSandbox helps us handle unknown threats. Every vendor is competing for who can detect an unknown threat the fastest. Fortinet is competitive in the market."
"The GUI makes administration tasks straightforward."
"The most valuable feature was the EDR, endpoint detection and response."
"What I find most valuable, is that it is easy to use."
"The scanner office document as well as PDF are useful. The most valuable thing is that you can emulate different operating systems without having the danger of getting something infected. It emulates several operating systems, and as a result, you either get the file or you don't get the file."
"The main benefit of Fortinet FortiSandbox is that it allows organizations to detect and prevent unknown threats from entering an infrastructure."

Cons

"I'd like to see more data loss prevention within the product."
"The reporting is a little weak and could be improved. The other downside is that Cynet does not use the local time zone. It's based off of Greenwich Mean Time."
"Their deployment needs some work, especially with integration with remote monitoring management systems like Datto AutoTask or ConnectWise Automate."
"I would like to see more emphasis on building the data lake and storing all endpoint data in the enterprise data lake so that data mining can be performed"
"A support center in Asia is needed."
"I would like to see support for mobile protection and some additional reports included."
"Cynet fails to deploy the same technology in mobile devices."
"The solution lacks URL filtering."
"For the MSSPs, it would be great if the product could display all the threat chains on a dashboard since it is an area where the tool is currently lacking."
"The reporting tools could be improved in Fortinet FortiSandbox."
"If updated, Fortinet FortiSandbox could cover other risks."
"In general, maybe they are not updated to cover risks."
"Sometimes, there are issues upgrading the version of the firewall or the SD-LAN box. After we upgrade to the latest version of the software, we still have the same box. I think it's the same for every vendor."
"The response time from technical support should be improved."
"The initial setup is not too complex but could be easier."
"At least once a week we have a false alarm. This needs to be adjusted so that we get fewer of these occurrences."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cynet is cheaper than other solutions in the market."
"Cynet is very affordable."
"Everything is included in this one solution and the pricing is pretty competitive."
"We purchase the product’s yearly license."
"It gives you a high level of protection at a very good price."
"This solution is expensive. I would rate the price as a three out of five when compared to similar products."
"Cynet is cheap."
"The pricing was good."
"The price of Fortinet FortiSandbox is not expensive."
"Altogether, it is about €10,000 for the Sandbox and Email Gateway."
"Fortinet is more reasonable than Palo Alto."
"There are additional costs, which isn't included in the licensing fee."
"The price is competitive."
"The license for Fortinet FortiSandbox depends on the use case."
"FortiSandbox is a subscription that can be purchased from Fortinet directly. Only using FortiSandbox as features purchased as a subscription in the cloud."
"I rate the product's pricing a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
