Great autonomous support, offers an easy setup, and has responsive support
The autonomous response is great. It blocks basically everything that is outside the normal, and what's happening 24/7. When we don't have anybody looking, it's great. The visibility that it gives you into any incident is great. You can see everything. I would say these two are the biggest aspects we really appreciate. It is easy to set everything up. The solution is stable. Users can scale the product. Technical support is helpful and responsive.

Complements any firewall
The core processors are there and it's able to generate reports for that. It also complements any kind of firewall. For example, if an end user is using Palo Alto as a firewall, they'd need another layer of firewall like the S-Series that will protect internal servers. It's something that complements any firewall in the market.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The models, triggers, and alerts are customizable."
"The investigative part of Darktrace is valuable, especially the automation features. It allows setting up checks and provides guidance on mitigating situations, which is very useful. There are different modules that you can add to the console for protection."
"The main valuable feature is that we don't need a lot of analysts. With few analysts, we have all the network monitored, 24/7."
"Its AI technology supports cybersecurity by learning my environment and accurately responding to threats."
"The active threat dashboard is the most valuable feature of this solution."
"Provides great network protection."
"Artificial intelligence and machine learning functionalities are valuable."
"The most valuable feature is that it works autonomously."
"Setup is straightforward with the same reliability and scalability as the firewall series."

Cons

"It takes time to go through the interface and pick up things. If it were a more straightforward interface, then it would free up time."
"One thing that I would like to look at going forward is to have a fully automated network infrastructure that is monitored automatically real-time, and that gives me this kind of capability where I would be able to look at my network at any given time and see the state of my network. With Darktrace, at the moment, I have to almost put in a date and tell them that want you to give me data from this date to this date. I don't want that. I want a fast solution in which it doesn't matter when I log into the application. Whenever I log in, I must be able to see my network and run a report. In other words, if I go in now and I say, "Give me a full report of what happened today, it must be able to give me that. It mustn't just be limited to a seven-day period, for argument's sake. It must be able to give me real-time and day-to-day tracking of what has happened within my network."
"It could build in integrations for some complementary products, but it has an assistant plugin so this is not really a big deal."
"It can have more integration with orchestration or event management solutions. They can provide more knowledge or research information for analysts for investigating cases and detecting anomalies in networks."
"They just need to make it a little bit more accurate as far as their alerts are concerned. It does generate some false positives that you have to tune. You have to do a lot of tuning when you first get it because of the false positives, but once it is all tuned up and ready to go, it will do its thing from there."
"This product needs more in terms of prevention. The detection capabilities work well but once a threat has been detected, Darktrace should work to prevent it from doing anything malicious."
"Although we haven't detected any network threats since implementing Darktrace, we are unsure of its efficacy. It would be beneficial if the solution could offer additional details to the user regarding any potential or prevented threats. Additionally, there could be better search tools and integration."
"The program is quite expensive."
"Lack of tools to help educate end users"

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is pretty expensive, but it is worth it. Its licensing is yearly."
"The pricing is a little high compared to the competition."
"I am using a demo of Darktrace for deployment and testing which is free."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The pricing is subscription-based and it is high."
"It is expensive. I don't have the price for other competitors."
"We've budgeted about 50,000 Kuwaiti dinars for the solution. That is a yearly operating cost."
"This solution is expensive."
