Useful endpoint visibility, high availability, and helpful support
Datto EDR is used for detection and response for endpoints The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints. The solution could improve by having more deployment methods. I have been using Datto Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for approximately three years. Datto…

Reduces organizational risk, low on machine load, and helps prevent ransomware
The most important aspect of the solution is that the load on the machine is not very high. It doesn't take up battery resources. The solution prevents ransomware and other threats. So far, it is working brilliantly. The dashboards and UI are user friendly, as is the ability to configure as needed. It seems to have a lot more capabilities. The XDR capabilities, in particular, look very strong. We're currently looking into that. If we want to do integrations with third parties, we don't have very many challenges around that. The ability to ingest and correlate across our security solutions is very useful. It's impressive. The AI engine it has is excellent. It helps us consolidate our security solutions. While it does not allow us to reduce alerts per se, it does a good job of correlating. The way it's integrated into the SIM, it's working to the expectations we have. The solution helps free up people so that they can work on other tasks. We don't have to grow our team too much now. My security team is actually quite small - about five people. We all get more time to handle other tasks. We've noted that it does help reduce mean time to respond. We can identify events easier and those that are most critical are brought to the forefront. Previously, we were in the dark. Now we have so much more visibility. It's been a huge improvement. It's effectively helped to reduce organizational risk.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ease of deployment has been good."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is a perfect product for endpoint security."
"The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints."
"The insight that the solution provides is the most valuable aspect. The security scanning they do is excellent."
"The ability to quickly and easily identify threats on our machines is valuable. The fact that it protects the environment as a whole is also valuable. They have the ability to identify network nodes, and they have Ranger as a component of the solution that allows us to see the whole picture. We can see on what we have SentinelOne and on what we do not."
"When we first looked at SentinelOne, we had a very distributed legacy antivirus environment. Through SentinelOne's platform, we were able to consolidate about eight different antiviruses globally, thus saving money and time."
"SentinelOne's managed detection response service Vigilance Respond is convenient for companies like ours with small IT teams. If something happens on the weekend, SentinelOne steps in and resolves the issue. It's a false positive 97% of the time, but at least they're resolved instead of hanging around for us to find on Monday."
"The protection and management provided by SentinelOne is good."
"The most valuable features include the agent installation and update processes."
"The most valuable features of SentinelOne Singularity Complete are machine learning because it saves us time, device control for data privacy, and the token."
"We have had very few false positives or false negatives, which allows our analysts to focus on their work instead of dealing with noise."
"It's a plug-and-play solution that works well with other out of box integrations that we have."

Cons

"The inclusion of web filtering would be good."
"The deployment of the solution right now is terrible. We find it to be very bad. It could be improved enormously."
"The solution could improve by having more deployment methods."
"The solution should allow the automation of playbooks."
"We need to analyze the threats and make decisions based on that, so the analytics could be better at analyzing exactly where the threats are coming from."
"Using the filters takes a little bit of time to get to used to."
"The anti-ransomware technology takes up a lot of disc space."
"Managing the alerts is a challenge. Singularity generates a lot of alerts and false positives."
"SentinelOne needs to provide more documentation for administrators and analytics."
"SentinelOne's phishing feature could be improved."
"Their documentation could afford to be a little bit better communicated. A lot of times we have to look at things in the knowledge base, and much of that could be communicated better, but that would probably be the only thing that needs to be improved."
"The only concern we have is that there are a few features that were not readily available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is an annual license to use this solution. The price of the solution can be expensive depending on the company."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is not an expensive solution."
"SentinelOne is significantly less expensive than CrowdStrike. I recently did a price comparison between CrowdStrike and SentinelOne to determine where we are going for the next three years. CrowdStrike is 200% to 300% the cost."
"The cost of utilizing all the features of SentinelOne Singularity Complete is high."
"For our use case, the solution is affordable. There are not any hidden fees."
"I can pay, for my environment, between $30,000 and $40,000 a year, and that's a pretty good deal."
"The licensing is convenient, straightforward, and very clear."
"Our licensing fees are about $5 USD per endpoint, per month."
"The license is paid annually and is competitive."
"The pricing is reasonable. It may be a little high, but it's on par with everything out there."
