Offers replication flexibility across multiple environments, including local centers and secondary sites
It offers key features like any point-in-time recovery without needing scheduled snapshots. It allows for automated VM protection during processes like failover and testing, and it offers replication flexibility across multiple environments, including local centers and secondary sites. It also provides IP address management when network configurations differ across sites.

Reliable automated backups have protected critical databases and simplified recoveries for our operations
Portal identity management should improve. We end up losing people's identity, which was not sufficient enough to read the events. That was the only place I could see for improvement. They keep changing the layouts and descriptions, giving the user confusion if they have not used it for maybe three months. When they come back, the interface is changed. They lost the legacy support, and it is not consistent. Some of the options for the restore give a very hard time for the engineer if they come back after three months to use it because the phrases have changed completely. That is why they were not able to select whether they should select this option or should select another option. Where it comes from, the documentation we gave them does not match anymore. That was a challenge. My consultation part was about how to integrate the technology with each other for the platform or storage or database. I did not deal with any price metrics or scaling the storage. I have no idea about the pricing part. I never joined any meetings or any documents to disclose the pricing. It was quite good in general. Recently, in March 2025, they did a new update which enabled them to update their agents remotely and built in, in-place mode. That is bringing the cybersecurity perspective. That was a big challenge. I said it is a challenge, but I do not know because I left the company, so I am not sure if cybersecurity addressed the solution. Rubrik support is usually very accommodating and very flexible. I am not sure, but the last challenge I saw was that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are the data center recovery administration and the time of recovery."
"RecoverPoint replicates workloads fast."
"The technical support from Dell is excellent."
"One of the standout features of Dell RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines is its real-time data protection capability."
"When it comes to disaster recovery, this is one of the best solutions there is for EMC products."
"The installation is straightforward if the version you have is compatible with your infrastructure."
"It is a very simple tool to use and offers flexibility in using the tool for recovery and transitioning from one state to another."
"It is a point-in-time restore, which is quite handy."
"I value the options it has for storage tiering (i.e. whether it should be a flash, SSD, or pushed to the cloud) depending on the data provided."
"My advice would be in the form of a question. If you have the money to purchase Rubrik, the real question is do you want success? Do you want it to work? Because if you want it to work and you want it to be easy — I don't know if Rubrik has won awards for support and service, although I feel like they should have — if you want that support for the few times that you need it, then you go with Rubrik."
"A Google-like file search, system scaling, and a frequent development cycle are some positives that this solution offers."
"It has also saved us time managing backups. It's pretty stable. So it sends us a report if something goes wrong, then you get a report. You don't really need to manually monitor this software over time. If something happens, you'll get an error and you'll get an email notification and then address it. We found the product pretty stable if it's configured correctly. So it has reduced management time."
"Rubrik is highly scalable and is easy to do."
"One of the best quote is: “it looks simple because we make it simple”, Bipul Sinha."
"This product will simplify your life beyond belief."
"Customer Service: 10/10. Never seen support like it."

Cons

"Although we can change the IP address, it would be good to have some other sort of orchestration to make life easier to manage when we failover."
"This product is not as easy to use as some other solutions."
"The solution currently supports only VMware."
"I would like to see integration with EMC NetWorker in the next release."
"The solution currently supports only VMware. There is increasing demand for compatibility with other hypervisors, such as Hyper V and KVM Proxmox. Additionally, licensing has become less flexible and more expensive."
"Maybe integration with Kubernetes for OpenShift would be helpful."
"Their L1 support is not so good as of now. They have recently outsourced to a company, and they are not doing good."
"In some cases, the response times could improve, but we haven't had issues with their support."
"The customer service and support could be a bit faster."
"Some of the areas that need improvement are the user GUI (multi-tenancy) and the promised Rubrik Edge solution, which will allow customers to back up their physical devices in our cloud."
"I would like to see more information on encryption with the next release."
"I have a personal want which might not necessarily make sense with Rubrik as a company or Rubrik as a software, but it would be really nice if they could also handle things like item-level backups and restores of Active Directory objects and DNS and DCP objects."
"Capacity reports could definitely be improved. It's hard to determine what is using the space and why. For instance, you can see that some host is using 2 TB on the Rubrik node and the disk space on that host is 400 GBs. It's hard to explain how there can be 2 TBs of data on local storage when nothing has changed on the host for the past three days."
"Could be improved from an analytics point of view."
"The integrated reporting is not really that nicely built. The reporting functionality could definitely be a little bit more customizable from an administration perspective, with an easier to understand interface."
"I would rate the stability a seven out of ten. There is always room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an expensive product."
"It was a part of a backup solution. So, it was free for us."
"Pricing-wise, it is pretty much fair for any customer who only has a VMware environment. Licensing is based on the number of VMs that you want to protect at any given point in time. Licensing is not based on size."
"This is not a very cheap solution and compared to others, it is expensive."
"There is a license required for this solution and the pricing depends on how many virtual machines you have."
"The tool is expensive. If one means cheaply priced and ten means expensive, I rate the tool's price as a seven."
"The product is not cheap, but for good reason. It simply works and is very fast."
"Rubrik is an expensive solution."
"Rubrik is fairly priced."
"I don't remember the cost, but I know that for Veeam, we were spending almost $250,000 a year for 205 licenses. It was an enterprise version. When we purchased Rubrik, it was just a little bit more. It was not a terribly huge amount, and if I recall, that was for three years of support as well. So, Veeam priced itself out of the market at a certain point in time."
"There is a license requirement for the solution. If you expand or if the maintenance period expires, there's a license renewal as well."
"The setup cost is a bit high, but the solution is an all-in-one solution."
"I rate the pricing an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"It’s simple, straightforward, and we were able to see 50% hard savings."
