Offers replication flexibility across multiple environments, including local centers and secondary sites
It offers key features like any point-in-time recovery without needing scheduled snapshots. It allows for automated VM protection during processes like failover and testing, and it offers replication flexibility across multiple environments, including local centers and secondary sites. It also provides IP address management when network configurations differ across sites.

Technical support has improved my data management process but I encounter GUI and cost challenges
The solution is available in the Azure Marketplace, but approaching directly is more cost-effective. The Marketplace approach incurs additional platform and reporting costs. We initially built Rubrik at host level and DB level. We encountered latency issues when reverting back, with numerous snapshots available. This resulted in increased costs and occupied spaces. I performed manual deletion of snapshots and verified with the Rubrik team for confirmation. The GUI reporting functionality lacks flexibility. For instance, obtaining specific server reports considering drive space and backup quantities is not possible, as it only provides overall reporting.

Pros

"RecoverPoint replicates workloads fast."
"One person can do the whole implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the solution."
"When it comes to disaster recovery, this is one of the best solutions there is for EMC products."
"Continuous replication with lower RTO and RPO is the most innovative feature, and its tight integration with VMware for VMware VMs is also valuable."
"Continuous replication with lower RTO and RPO is the most innovative feature. Its tight integration with VMware for VMware VMs is also valuable."
"The most valuable feature is that it is journal-based and you don't have to replicate a lot of data."
"The solution is quite stable. We haven't experienced any kind of bug or glitch. We haven't experienced crashes."
"The technical support from Dell is excellent."
"Rubrik is cheap, and you get good performance."
"Rubrik has improved our organization by minimizing downtime."
"What I like about Rubrik is that you can back up to the cloud, it is a different kind of backup where you're not archiving the tape, and as a dedicated physical appliance you can back up locally, to another device, and even replicate data between multiple sites."
"Rubrik, when compared to Cohesity, Dell, and Veritas, was the best of the four."
"ubrik's One-Touch Recovery helps address this. Using backup as a migration tool can also help overcome challenges when moving to a hybrid cloud."
"The security and the ransomware protection are most valuable."
"I think Rubrik is a very good backup solution; it works well, is pretty reliable, stable, and easy to use, and I don't see any negatives in Rubrik, only positives."
"Rubrik is an easy and automatic solution that needs no manual intervention."

Cons

"The solution could improve by being more easier to use. Additionally, there could be better support and compatibility with management by having a command-line interface."
"The solution is not easy to use. It's actually quite hard. If it could be simplified it might be better for the end user."
"This product is not as easy to use as some other solutions."
"I would like to have the HTML 5 interface working because it is currently not functioning with the VMware environment."
"In some cases, the response times could improve, but we haven't had issues with their support."
"Maybe integration with Kubernetes for OpenShift would be helpful."
"The solution is not easy to use. It's actually quite hard."
"It should have features for recovering a group of virtual machines and full-scale security. For recovering all the VMs at once, they don't have a GUI option, and we have to use the command line."
"The integrated reporting is not really that nicely built."
"I would like to see more information on encryption with the next release."
"I would like to see the entire Office 365 product suite backed up by Rubrik. For instance, they do SharePoint and Exchange online, but they don't back up Microsoft Teams."
"We need one system to manage all the Rubrik clusters."
"There are so many things Rubrik has done right. They need to continue to listen to their customers and what they want/need, not just care about money and the bottom line."
"Needs integration with video CD (coming in the next release) and a multi-tenant GUI."
"We had some stability issues; we encountered some bugs and glitches."
"A singular system is needed to manage all of the clusters."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It was a part of a backup solution. So, it was free for us."
"There is a license required for this solution and the pricing depends on how many virtual machines you have."
"Pricing-wise, it is pretty much fair for any customer who only has a VMware environment. Licensing is based on the number of VMs that you want to protect at any given point in time. Licensing is not based on size."
"This is not a very cheap solution and compared to others, it is expensive."
"This is an expensive product."
"The tool is expensive. If one means cheaply priced and ten means expensive, I rate the tool's price as a seven."
"High priced when considering a total change in backup solution."
"You need to understand what you're getting for the price. You are getting a backup solution, which is state of the art and works absolutely flawlessly. You are getting the storage needed to store your backups. You have all the sexy features that a modern backup solution can provide you, like deduplication, erasure coding, compression, fast execution time, secured data, and top-notch customer support. So, it might be expensive on paper. It's not free, but when you analyze what you are getting and the time you can spend on other stuff, then Rubrik is very cost-efficient."
"The initial setup cost includes support and maintenance costs, followed by a monthly fee."
"The solution is expensive for small businesses."
"As a technical person, I don't have the details, but from what I have heard, it can be expensive."
"Rubrik is quite expensive for small businesses."
"Rubrik is a little bit expensive, but it's worth the price."
"There is just one cost, and it includes software and hardware. So, everything is included. It is better than other solutions in terms of cost. We also have Dell EMC Avamar in our environment, and we have to pay for the hardware and data domain. We also have to pay for the software license for the data protection suite. So, based on my calculations, I find Rubrik cheaper, and we are also getting good performance."
