User-friendly and accessible for anyone with computer knowledge and logical thinking
There is room for improvement in the solution's visualization tool. Currently, it provides basic reports and the ability to create graphs and dashboards, but I'm looking forward to more robust analytics. The plan is to enhance this feature in 2024, around Q2 or Q3, which would save us from relying on external tools like Power BI for insights.

Interactive dashboards have transformed reporting and now support real-time data-driven decisions
One area that could improve in TIBCO Spotfire is performance with very large data sets. I use the advanced scripting feature less often, but the visualization and dashboard features are very useful in my daily work with TIBCO Spotfire. TIBCO Spotfire can be improved in handling very large data, faster dashboard loading, simpler advanced scripting, and better customization options for visualizations. Integration with some external tools in TIBCO Spotfire can be smoother, and the user interface for advanced features could be more beginner-friendly. A more intuitive navigation system, a cleaner interface, and an easier drag-and-drop option for report building would also make it more useful.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a reliable solution."
"Back in the day, we could only get reports and analyze what happened after the fact, but today now we can generate real-time insights. Transformation Manager feeds your data science projects. We generate models and then give them to the clients, so they can come up with real-time predictions and recommendations in addition to reporting."
"It is among the best, even if not widely known."
"Transformation Manager is the backbone of every data pipeline these days because the solution has been on the market for 20 to 30 years, and we use it for various industries, including financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, etc."
"I would recommend this product because it is intuitive with a fast learning curve and very powerful."
"The ability to create different types of analyses with ease is the product’s most valuable feature."
"The advanced settings in the dialog box for visualization options are comprehensive and easy to use."
"I find the power of the information links valuable in Spotfire, as it allows complex queries to be handled efficiently."
"One of the main features is integrated statistical analysis."
"The biggest positive impact of TIBCO Spotfire is faster decision-making, as teams can see updated performance data in one place, act quickly, and reduce considerable repetitive manual reporting work through centralized, interactive dashboards that align everyone around the same numbers for more consistent discussions."
"It's quite stable and reliable."
"It's one of the best products I've worked with in my career, especially in the engineering, oil and gas, or chemistry fields."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in the solution's visualization tool."
"We get decent support. It's okay but not great."
"Transformation Manager reporting could be better. There are better options for reporting tools these days. We use Microsoft BI sometimes, but Tableau is becoming too expensive. Microsoft BI's visualization features are maturing."
"They should build a functional architecture based on queuing."
"TIBCO Spotfire and ClickView need improvement in scheduling, which is critical yet lacking in quality."
"I would like to see a few more charts and properties, easy integration with HTML design, d3 charts, and custom charts."
"Customer Service: Good Technical Support: It's good but need improvement."
"However, not all the runtime components are multiplatform. To be exact, the component whose purpose is to render the data in a web browser can be installed only on Microsoft machines."
"Spotfire requires better documentation."
"I would like to have event-based automation (without integrating with other tools), e.g., send an email only if some event has occurred."
"TIBCO Spotfire can be improved for new users, as the interface can be somewhat complex and overwhelming for those just starting out."
"One aspect where Spotfire could improve is its global recognition, especially in terms of support."

"It is an expensive solution."
"The cost is a few hundred dollars per user per year."
"In comparison to other solutions such as IBM Cognos, TIBCO Spotfire is more affordable."
"The price-point for this solution is negotiable depending on usage levels."
"The solution is affordable one."
