The tool needs to improve in the areas of security, though it is a versatile product
Inflectra Rapise needs to expand its ability. I spoke with Inflectra's executive account rep on the need to expand the tool's ability. The problem with Inflectra Rapise is that a lot of companies are still using SAP GUI. Inflectra has no intention of building Rapise in a way that allows it to interact with SAP GUI. Inflectra Rapise has very limited value for the companies I work with because they they still use SAP GUI since their top priority is SAP testing, and they want to get into automation, for which they need a tool that cannot only used to automate processes, but can also do end-to-end testing where you are not only using SAP GUI, but you are using the interface with old legacy systems that are still in use or with today's more modern technologies. In the future, the tool needs to increase its versatility. If I am at a company that uses 23 different technologies, like .NET Visual Basic, Oracle, SQL, or whatever, Inflectra Rapise needs to be made as a product that is an out-of-the-box usable tool for any technology.

Improves accuracy and has the easiest interface and good scalability
Orchestrator needs an overhaul. They have added so many functions that it is sometimes quite hard to find the right settings. They have a tree hierarchy with the host and the tenant. Some settings you do on the host, and some settings you do on the tenant. You need to know at which level you are to find what you need. It all looks very same. The other thing that I have been telling them for years is the width of the activity. You cannot change the width. I do a lot of training to show something, and I constantly have to go into the advanced editor to show what is in there, but the big thing right now is Orchestrator.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's pretty straightforward to set up."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its versatility."
"We always use the product for end-to-end automation test cases."
"The most valuable thing is the whole automation suite that helps develop automation processes. In the future, we might further explore Communications Mining and Process Mining."
"The product helps us establish and maintain best practices while simplifying workflows."
"The solution has improved our organization, specifically around all the operational aspects of the bot. Once we deploy them through the orchestrator we use insights to see how the bots are performing, what errors are referring, and just the general health insights would be the biggest lift that we've gotten out of the solution. Building the automation is a little bit easier and quicker on the platform than where we were at before."
"You can scrape data into your tables, then easily transform it or convert it between formats."
"AI functionality enabled our clients to automate more processes overall. It helped with end-to-end automation in the way that if you automate more processes, you save more time, and save more money for the company."
"UiPath reduces human error. That is one of the main reasons why automation is done for customers."
"Our profit has increased by around 50 percent using UiPath."
"The speed that in which it can be deployed is something I really like because that cuts down on delivery times. I also like the ease of use. In addition, I like the fact that we can program our own .NET to plug into it and there are APIs for multiple different solutions..."

Cons

"The maintenance is very difficult. We've only been using the platform for three months, so I'm not sure if that will continue, but right now it's an observation I've had."
"It would be good if there could be more integration of Inflectra Rapise, since not all customers use the same tool for test management and automation integration."
"Inflectra Rapise needs to expand its ability."
"UiPath has a built-in functionality called Computer Vision to extract values from a PDF... The cost is based on how many documents we are using Computer Vision on. That makes it difficult to estimate ROI."
"When it comes to web automation, a change order should be able to be handled more easily."
"The regular update of the Community Edition means that the UiRobot path is constantly changing on every update."
"The Academy classes could be improved. There should be a portal for use cases. There should be more business examples."
"We tried utilizing the virtual environment, but we had some issues in that area."
"UiPath needs to improve its onboarding and operational excellence."
"We're actually looking into a document to understand the use case. It's essentially car titles, and we're struggling. We've used several different OCR engines to try to train the model and try to improve it. For us, a little more direction on how to actually achieve this would be useful. We've been struggling for a couple of months now trying to get it working and getting it to the level we need it."
"I'm trying not to sound negative about it as I like them a lot, however, the process mining and the process mining features stem further away from the development of the robots and the monitoring. The development, run, and monitoring are really closely knit, or really close together, and then process discovery is starting to get there. It's on its way, however, I don't see that it's as closely connected as the other three parts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay no more than $50 annually for support of each one of the licenses."
"I rate the product's price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where ten means very good pricing."
"UiPath is priced for the market and is even better considering the value it brings."
"The cost of the software was around $10,000."
"The pricing is fair."
"It is not a cheap solution. There is an annual licensing cost for all the components."
"UiPath is a pretty expensive tool compared to what the market offers, including open-source alternatives that can do similar things."
"Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
"The cost is better than that of other solutions in the market, like Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism. Still, I would like to see them improve the pricing for small and mid-sized organizations... In some cases, if you compare the overall cost of the solution and the cost of human effort, the human effort is cheaper."
"Its actual cost turned out to be about two times more than what we thought it was going to be upfront. There were hardware costs that we were not expecting. Some of the server costs and things of that nature were higher than what we were expecting but based upon the return, it was a net."
