Flexible, good data protection, responsive and knowledgeable technical support
They definitely need to improve their reporting. Their dashboard is good. It can always be improved, but for now, it's really simple: you see what works and what doesn't. However, once you get into the enterprise space, you want to make sure that your dashboard has additional, reporting possibilities. You will want more customization and more options available. Because if you move into the enterprise-class space in the financial industry, they will want to know regulations, where the data is held, and how long the retention periods are by marketing group and per type of data. You want to have hooks into the data types, which Keepit doesn't have now, but I'm sure it will soon.

Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of this solution is definitely its pricing point. Invoicing is simple. It is one price that includes both licensing and retention requirements, which is rare in today's market. That, I believe, is a significant differentiation for them."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"The product offers good stability."
"Its absolute functionality and intuitiveness are the most valuable features."
"The tool is easy to use and straightforward regarding restoration and creating backups. It's user-friendly, providing results and sending alerts when something goes wrong."
"The solution is stable."
"I want an additional copy of my data in the Office cloud and it works."
"Technical support in Veeam is good."
"Veeam is affordable and end-to-end configuration is straightforward, whether you're going from source to destination or vice versa. Retrieval is also easy."

Cons

"They definitely need to improve their reporting."
"The solution announced many features two years ago, and they still have not happened, so I would hope that the next release has these ready to go."
"In some instances, a customer is not necessarily backing up Microsoft 365. For instance, they might be backing up a large Oracle database. It would be nice if they could tweak it to compress the file, so it's easier to transfer a huge file."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"Veeam is quite expensive."
"As with all things, the solution can be improved by reducing the cost."
"It requires quite an amount of infrastructure. You have to set up the instance, and you need to know quite a bit about Microsoft 365 authentication. For some customers, it is a challenge."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by reducing the time it takes for backups. I have mentioned this to Veeam and hopefully, in the next version, it will be a faster backup."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by adding more features with Microsoft teams. We have many files that we are working on with Microsoft teams and there should be more integration and features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe the MSRP is around $5 or $6 USD per person, per month, and per seat."
"It is not the cheapest solution in the market."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
"The pricing model makes this solution more expensive than it needs to be."
"There is a license required for this solution and we pay annually."
"We looked at a few cloud options. When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything."
"We are talking about a third party solution, so there is a licensing fee."
"The pricing is middle-of-the-road compared with competing products."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
