Offers good user interface and easy to navigate
Our experience is mainly around using Snowflake Data Cloud with Matillion. And the two of them combined, offer superior performance and price point benefits. Using them together is very efficient because Matillion's processing and Snowflake's own scalability and consumption based on pushing down code work well together. They are very efficient. We've used Azure Data Factory (ADF) for integration. So that's an alternative, depending on customer choice for the integration. And then on AWS, a few of the other services, like Terraform, and S3 storage, and that's about it. It's on a case-by-case basis. If they've chosen ADF as a technology, then we implement using that choice.

Though the tool offers a visually appealing UI, it needs to improve its documentation
With Zapier, improvements are required in the areas of concerns like bugs, ease of use, and documentation. The product has many bugs, so users have to wait for a period ranging from five minutes to an hour to see where the Zap went. In Zapier, Zaps aren't very understandable owing to the way they work. As a user, you would think that in Zapier, a Zap works in a particular way once you set it up, but it won't happen. At times, some Zaps can interfere with each other, because of which there might be infinite loops that may occur, owing to which multiple Zaps continue to run or break down in general, after which nothing would run in your environment. You would not be notified about the breakdown of Zaps. The bugs in the product may be considered to understand or get an explanation of how Zaps works between software systems, so for something between Gmail and HubSpot, Zapier would explain through better documentation what would work and what wouldn't work. Maybe if Zapier had better functionality with Python or any other coding language in general, it would make the product a lot better.

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Matillion ETL is its user-friendly graphical interface."
"It's highly scalable. It takes upon itself the Redshift scalability, so it's very good."
"The product is quite stable and can handle complex data integration tasks well."
"Matillion ETL has great Git integration that is perfect and convenient to use."
"Matillion ETL is one hundred percent stable."
"The technical support treats us well. They already have a support portal, and they are responsive, which helps."
"The product has a good user interface."
"It has good integrations with Amazon Redshift and other AWS services."
"Zapier handles everything under the sun that you would think you need in automation. It is the most mature integration platform and service on the market."
"We find it effortless to set up. We really don't have to do anything other than finding the application in the Zapier catalog. And as long as the application has been re-integrated into Zapier, they're able to then just provide the connection details and hook it up."
"The product's initial setup phase was very easy."
"The connection between Facebook lead forms and MailChimp integrations is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is that it is very intuitive and has a very flat learning curve."
"Zapier’s most valuable feature is its ability to interconnect applications or devices."
"The product's most valuable feature is automation."
"With the previous CRM we were using – the Google Ads landing pages we had – we were collecting leads manually. That process was not efficient and took a sales team a lot of time to insert these leads manually. Currently, the process is smooth and we use Zapier to collect the leads for us."

Cons

"The cost of the solution is high and could be reduced."
"To complete the pipeline, they might want to include some connectors which would put the data into different platforms. This would be helpful."
"In the next release, we would like to have connections to more databases."
"The tool's lineage is very weak."
"While the UI is good, it could be improved in its efficiency and made easier to use."
"Matillion ETL should include more enhanced capabilities for extracting data from the SAP systems."
"One of the features that's in development is data privacy in the cloud, along with further SAP integration. For connectivity to SAP systems."
"Sometimes, we have issues with the solution's stability and need to restart it for three weeks or more."
"The user interface for Zapier could be improved. It also takes some time to sync the data between different environments."
"My biggest concern with Zapier would be their pricing strategy."
"Zapier needs to improve in the same way most RPA solutions should, such as Robocorp, Make, or UiPath. They are not good at helping you find the connections that you need for the problem that you have. For example, if need something on Instagram. I'm going to have to do research for hours to be able to find the components or the app, which is going to do what I need it to do. It makes it difficult to use the system when you don't know what to use."
"Zapier could be a little faster, but that might not be possible. I would encourage Zapier to make more API endpoints for each application"
"There is room for improvement in the support. They are not responsive, and they don't take much time to get resolved."
"System-to-system is fine, but when it comes to system-to-user, where Zapier is helping to communicate to a user, that's a one-way communication. If that user has to perform some action on that notification, the action isn't handled by Zapier. So there's no way to orchestrate that and it's very cumbersome."
"Being able to share Zaps and organize them with teammates would allow sharing and refining scenarios and even combining steps that require different people's credentials."
"After mapping them out, and they'd worked for a while, I've had Zapier fail."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Matillion ETL has a pay-as-you-go pricing model of a few dollars per hour of runtime."
"A rough estimation of the cost is around 20,000 dollars a month, however, this is dependent on the machine used and how Matillion ETL is used."
"Its price depends on what you expect. You pay on a monthly basis, but there is a possibility to have special contracts depending on the installation."
"It is cost-effective. Based on our use case, it's efficient and cheap. It saves a lot of money and our upfront costs are less."
"The pricing depends on what edition the customer opts for. For example, the standard edition is priced at $2.00 per credit. And you are only charged when you use it. You're not charged when it's idle."
"Matillion ETL is expensive."
"The price of Matillion ETL is reasonable."
"The solution is very cheap. You're paying $2.50 an hour and if you set your service up, which you can do, you're not getting charged. Currently, our ETL process is just an overnight process that runs for about an hour. I can start and stop my server just for an hour if I want to and spent $2.50 a day for an ETL solution. There are no additional costs."
"Per task, there is a monthly plan involving 15 euros...Also, in different forms, they just give you the ability to use different features. They charge 18.58 euros for the first standard plan, which includes 750 tasks. So, it is about 25 cents per task."
"There is a free plan that is, of course, limited. However, it allows you to understand and check true scenarios for a while."
"It's very affordable."
"Think your Zaps through to make sure you don't use more Zaps than you need."
"The price of Zapier is approximately $75 monthly."
"It's very straightforward licensing. There's only one cost you have to pay, and if you want a relevant pricing plan, I think you have two or three different models or packages which include the number of notifications or Zaps, as they call it, that you can program."
"Zapier's price is good."
"The least expensive plan is $24 a month, and you can go all the way to $800 a month if you're a huge company using many tasks."
