Provides end-to-end accounting and finance module at reasonable pricing
365 Business Central integrates with Office 365 to streamline the invoice approval process. This allows businesses to manage and approve invoices efficiently within a unified system. Our organization plans to transition to the Dynamics 365 environment, where various functions will be centralized. We will consolidate everything into one system instead of maintaining multiple databases for each country with local data. Dynamics 365 is fully integrated, which should address many of our challenges when we migrate to this new environment. We look forward to seeing how it performs in practice. The project is progressing well overall, though integrating it with other tools and ensuring Dynamics 365 operates smoothly can be challenging. Dynamics 365 is user-friendly and effective. However, a deeper understanding of its technical capabilities and architecture might be necessary to optimize its use fully. The software landscape is evolving, and achieving the best reporting and functionality with just a click can be complex. A clear vision of what you want to achieve with Dynamics 365 is essential. Proper preparation and configuration are crucial to achieving the desired outcomes. This principle applies not only to Dynamics 365 but to all software packages. Understanding the system's flexibility and adaptability based on your specific business needs is key to its successful implementation. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Caters to the company's B2B business model and highly stable solution
I have seen some limitations. For example, in Sri Lanka, I implemented SAP Business One in the fashion industry, specifically the footwear industry. Currently, the system does not support creating size-wise items with a size grid, which would be a beneficial feature to have. Additionally, in some areas, particularly in budget preparation and cost accounting, there are certain limitations that could be improved. Specifically, the budgeting side needs enhancement. When comparing SAP Business One with Netsuite and Microsoft Dynamics, Netsuite has a feature that allows easy integration with email, whereas SAP Business One lacks this capability. Users need to log in to the SAP Business One application separately to access emails, unlike Netsuite. These minor features make a difference, and if SAP Business One can include and improve such aspects, it would become the ideal product for SMEs. One another thing is SAP Business One consumes a lot of network resources and bandwidth, especially when accessing the web solution, B1 Web Access. While NetSuite is a completely cloud-based solution that can be accessed via a web browser, SAP Business One has this facility but faces some constraints, especially in terms of top performance and speed at the browser level. However, in the network, there are issues regarding application slowness. This could be a major concern with SAP Business One. These are some areas of improvement for me.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is extremely stable as it does not rely on our in-house servers."
"It is a stable solution."
"The solution can scale."
"For me, the main strengths of Microsoft Dynamics NAV are that it's user-friendly and light. These are its major wins. I have used other ERPs and their architecture were a little more complex when compared to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV architecture."
"The platform offers a robust and comprehensive cycle for supply chain and inventory management, with features like minimum and maximum settings, dynamic monitoring of inventory levels, and integration with Microsoft's AI capabilities."
"We are getting more features after switching to Microsoft 365."
"All of the features are valuable, depending on where you implement them. I've done implementations in 60 countries, across 86 different companies and groups, and each company has a different reason for why they want to use it. Every single feature that I've implemented has been successful, and for some companies, where they didn't use the functionality, they have moved to external products or they've integrated into other applications."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is cloud accessibility."
"SAP Business One has valuable and helpful features for standard utilities, such as sales, purchasing, inventory, and finance, including Indian localization. Additionally, it is strong in the area of production. It has enhanced capabilities in advanced production planning, maintenance, and other features as needed through the use of add-ons provided by partners. These add-ons run within the solution and can be provided to customers based on their specific production needs."
"SAP Business One is very stable, and I would rate its performance as ten out of ten."
"The efficient Intercompany sales to purchase order conversion is great."
"We bought all licenses for the whole package in the very beginning, and now we're just paying for 404 licensed maintenance. It's a standard fee. Of course, we still pay partners for implementation."
"The graphical view of connections between different transactions is a valuable feature of the solution."
"The SAP Business One is simple and it provides us the control we need."
"We are using it for accounts and finance and also for maintaining third-party transactions and non-CRM transactions."
"It's fully integrated with great dashboard and interface."

Cons

"In Thailand, the support here could be better. The process to get an answer is too long."
"It could be more stable."
"We need to customize more often than we would like."
"I think Microsoft should improve on the process of how the user decides on a business workflow. For example, there may be some kind of drag-and-drop interface that lets us decide for ourselves how to develop the business workflows that fit our purpose."
"There is a book for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central explaining how to use it. But it is not easy to use, and it is not easy to learn."
"The tool needs to work on reporting issues and user interface."
"Since it's complex for a layperson user to understand the solution, it would be better if the solution provided some training resources."
"I am hoping there is more integration with other platforms, more features, and customization in the next release."
"SAP Business One consumes a lot of network resources and bandwidth, especially when accessing the web solution, B1 Web Access."
"Improvements are required in the support for partner-delivery add-ons, functional graphs, user development, and BI since certain shortcomings exist in these areas."
"Business One lacks built-in HR features."
"There could be enhancements in plant maintenance, quality assurance, and HR management features."
"There are problems with Business One's collection management and reconciliation."
"The extension of dashboards into mobiles is something which SAP Business One has to improve on."
"Business One doesn't have a proper master data management function."
"The solution could improve by having some added authentication, such as SAP CC or SAP S4HANA."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I give the solution a seven out of ten for pricing."
"We have a perpetual license to use Microsoft Dynamics NAV."
"The solution's license is costly compared to other CRM tools."
"There is an annual cost of using Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The cost is approximately 140,000 INR."
"The deployment cost us $70,000 and we pay around $18,000 annually for support, which we find to be expensive."
"Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a pay-as-you-use payment model."
"The on-premises model of Dynamics NAV is very expensive, hence our plan to migrate to Dynamics 365 Business Central, which appears to fit our needs better in terms of pricing. Compared to competitors, the cloud version of Dynamics is in the middle; not too high and not too low."
"I have some subscription-based customer and a few customers who have perpetual licenses that hosted the application on the cloud."
"It's not cheap but offers good value, particularly for medium-sized enterprises."
"In terms of price, it's fair, but the problem is with AMC."
"The price of SAP Business One is high for smaller businesses to afford. The currency plays a large part in the fluctuation of the solution's price when we convert the USD to our local currency. $1,400 is for a limited license and $3,700 is for a professional license."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"Its price is reasonable. We have about 200 licenses. We have to pay every year for the license."
"We are on a perpetual license for SAP Business One and the price it should be less expensive when comparing it to other solutions."
"The price of SAP Business One is not comparable to other solutions. SAP is a well-known brand, and its price is on the higher side. However, if the solution offers the right fit for an organization the price is not a major concern for those who choose to use it."
"SAP Business One is not cheap."

Both are not the right fit for Manufacturing company because these 2 solutions are built for small and medium size enterprises mainly for accounting purpose but not for operations. They need modules like Production planning & Scheduling, Quality management, adv' inventory optimization, Shoop floor control, Supplier management, Adv' warehouse, Inbound and outbound logistics and so on. Look at e10x-ERP (educe10x.com). Built natively for the cloud, connects using a browser, and no need for hefty hardware installations, etc. e10x-ERP is focused on SMB manufacturing companies and has a suite of modules that will fit your requirements. The modules include attendance and payroll which most other ERPs do not offer as standard. Also, integrated with WhatsApp Business (for auto reports, auto messages to customers, suppliers, etc), email, trigger, and event-based reports, integrated with GST (ASP).
