A good solution for large enterprises, but is expensive when compared to other solutions
Regarding the decision of increasing the number of users, it depends on the organization's choice, whether to opt for CapEx or OpEx. Both options involve expenses over the years. Building an in-house Exchange solution requires investing in hardware, storage, connectivity, and administrative resources. Office 365 shifts the budget solely to OpEx as a subscription service. Scalability is another factor. Starting a new company favors Office 365 due to cost efficiency. As the organization grows, the choice depends on available resources and technical expertise. An internal Exchange setup is feasible with skilled engineers, while Office 365 suits those lacking in-house resources.

The data retrieval process is seamless
The permission structure plays a big role in the solution's setup process. The deployment process involves setting up all connectors between the Veritas Enterprise Vault, emails, and file servers. At our company, we found the permissions created a complicated situation often during the setup of Veritas Enterprise Vault. The deployment of the solution overall took around a week for our organization.

Cons

"Microsoft needs to make some modifications to meet the current needs of the environment. For example, they need to add more cell service features because people work from home during the pandemic, and certain elements should be available as a mobile service."
"There are issues when you add your domain to Microsoft Tenant, and you try to create that. Which is a problem for me."
"For new users, it might take them some time to get used to the product."
"From a reliability perspective, they need to improve the search engine, it is not very powerful."
"In our current situation, the disappearance of sanctions would be a tangible improvement. We are basically cut off from technical support and it's very difficult to obtain any updates."
"The calendar integration in Exchange is not that great. The email features are okay, but it doesn't integrate well with the calendar and appointments, especially Zoom appointments. It integrates fine with Microsoft Teams, but Zoom is a challenge."
"In terms of probability, every now and then there are changes coming and going. The changes are not that frequent because every month they got updates back, so that is an issue."
