Helps you avoid delays because you can visualize your deadlines and track your progress
I like the automation you can do with monday.com. You can automate priorities, status changes, notifications, etc. You may need another solution to create this automation in other tools, but monday.com includes everything. The Gantt view for project planning is also pretty good. The interface is another area where monday.com shines. It is colorful and visually appealing. You can paint with colors, and there are multiple views. If you are the type of person who wants all of your information displayed linearly, you can set it up in lines. It's the best tool for evaluating timelines and projects. The most challenging part is deciding how you want to display your information, but as soon as you know what you're doing, it's effortless to view where you are in the project and who's involved. You can set up a simple project in under five minutes, but a super complex one might take a few days. I think it's straightforward if you know how you want to organize your information. monday.com is accessible to non-technical users but takes a lot of time. They have many tutorials, and you can easily use monday.com if you can take the time to go through them and learn. When you initially create a project, it's only a board with lines on which you enter the tasks. You have some columns with the task owner, status, deadlines, etc. It is not that easy to understand all the features and how you can use them for your case, which is why people contact me. When you implement the tool, you decide which layout to use and what information you want to disclose. I've seen clients who have been using this for three years, and they still only know how to do things one way because they haven't taken the time to understand all the features. It's crucial to spend time at the start and learn the tool. I don't think the learning curve is that huge.

A project management solution that can be automated to suit your needs
I rate the initial setup a seven out of ten because it's easy. We had to really understand the solution because it's huge, and we had to know which sections to bite off first. I might even rate the initial setup a nine out of ten if you know what you've got. Once we had all our data and our migration plan, it was quite easy. The challenge lies more with the organization than the system itself. Sciforma is one of the easiest tools to get going with from a technical point of view, but knowledge is key. Deploying the solution takes from six months to a year, depending on the level of data wanted. While deploying the solution, we have to first compile the user's requirements. Then we have to drop a baseline specification in parallel with a concept rollout. Based on what's in the concept, we pick from what the client understands to be the relevant portions, the minimum requirements. Then I convert it into a project execution plan and then execute the plan. After that, we have initial data collection for configuration and then final live data. Then we have the sign-off processes of different departments. There's a lot of upfront work to get the data prepared for transmission, and that is a big challenge. We did almost a thousand projects per year, so there were quite a lot of decisions to speed up the deployment process. The biggest challenge was to get our internal data organized and map it.

Pros

"I especially like the dashboards where you can combine info from different boards into one."
"Since Monday is so flexible, it allows us to maintain projects in our own way."
"The structure it has, the sites, the boards, and how easily you can transfer information from one place to the other is great."
"Time tracking has been a godsend."
"I love that status updates move items from board to board."
"Monday.com has made it much easier to keep track of a wide range of tasks whilst we have a team distributed over multiple countries and timezones."
"File upload and communication save hunting for messages or files across devices and shared areas."
"Monday.com has allowed us to organize our workload in a much more efficient way."
"It makes it more fun to work with a modern designed and easy-to-use solution as a team and not add or analyze data alone. Internal, external, home office, remote work, desktop, mobile (available on iOS and Android), are always connected to One2Team."
"I find Sciforma's customizability valuable."
"The integrated portfolio and project management approach is the most valuable feature of Sciforma."

Cons

"I'd like better integration with other services."
"A new feature that we would love is the ability to create custom reports from our workspaces."
"I believe the reporting functionality could be improved on monday.com. While some reports are accessible, this area has room for enhancement. For example, including a Gantt chart in project planning would be valuable. This addition could make monday.com more competitive with tools like Microsoft Project. Overall, I think there's potential for improvement in the graphical interfaces and reports provided by monday.com."
"Having more integrations for different specialties that use Monday would be great."
"I often find it difficult to keep track of all the projects I am involved in."
"It would be nice to have more custom automation and also to simplify some steps to better manage a team and a workload for projects."
"If I have 20 items that all have a deadline of 3/24, I'd love to be able to update them all at one time rather than individually."
"We have always wanted to be able to perform a global search for a phone number."
"The report developer needs a bit of streamlining."
"The solution's graphical user interface (GUI) is a bit old and could be improved."
"For the future AI (Artificial intelligence) must be part of a modern solution. AI is with its unique ability to monitor patterns, is a capable assistant for project managers. Artificial intelligence is being used to help with project organization on a collection of different data from multi-data sources."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing of monday.com is worth it."
"The pricing of monday.com was a little bit high for us, especially here in South Africa, compared to Basecamp."
"The enterprise plan looks expensive because we don't understand the value as monday.com users. The pro level and other packages seem reasonable."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten."
"It's definitely affordable. I don't think it is necessarily the cheapest, but it's definitely not the most expensive. The price is well worth the value that we get out of it."
"monday.com's pricing is fair compared to its competitors, although it is a bit more expensive than most of them. It's more expensive than Jira, Zoho, ClickUp, and Trello. But it is fairly priced when you compare the kinds of features and the capabilities that you get and the ROI."
"The product is not expensive."
"There are features that they're putting in the Enterprise plan that you have to pay for the Enterprise plan to use those features. The Enterprise plan is probably double or triple the Pro plan price, or it may be two and a half times. From a business standpoint, I don't like the fact that I have to pay two and a half times more to use a particular feature."
"I rate the pricing a four out of ten because Sciforma's rates are good."
"The solution's pricing is neither too expensive nor too cheap."
