What advice do you have for others considering Anaplan?

I do not view it in a commercial competition way; it is more about which tool is best for my specific data needs. I am still exploring what features could be suggested for improvement since Anaplan and IBM Planning Analytics serve different purposes in our applications. I have colleagues who are Anaplan salespeople and marketers, driving its adoption across different companies. Anaplan is marketed strongly, and many cannot see the distinction without understanding the backend and coding structures. I would rate this review a nine out of ten.

Anaplan's scenario planning feature is used for forecasting. The integration capabilities of Anaplan have helped to streamline data consolidation in my organization. We use JD Edwards as the basic ERP system and the data from JD Edwards is transmitted into Power BI so that it can be transmitted into Anaplan. The interface of this process is wonderful and simple for users. We can perform integrity checks where you can verify all the data from JDE to Anaplan to HFM and see them at a glance to ensure all the numbers are complete and there is no variance. The user interface is very friendly.Anaplan has helped to adapt to market changes. Planning happens outside of Anaplan because you need to consider economic situations and the factors that are driving your numbers. If, for example, we are planning inflation to be single digit but it becomes double, you have to go into Anaplan to change that. Anaplan will not automatically do that for you. I like Anaplan more than the Cognos product because it is more updated and works with different tools. You can automate with various features and even implement artificial intelligence to help data flow properly. Anaplan is more current. In the age of artificial intelligence, if Anaplan could research into using more artificial intelligence to design and sort data, that would be beneficial. My recommendation for other organizations considering Anaplan is to adopt it for the ease of working with it to do reporting and planning. It consolidates your efforts so that you do not have to report in one place and budget in another place. I gave this review a rating of eight.

I previously worked with Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning from Oracle, and now I work with Anaplan technology. I provide technical support to users for security-related issues, creating new administration roles, and workflow management. We assist with security provisioning, user creation, workflow issues, and technical business logic modifications. On a scale of 1-10, I rate Anaplan a 9.

I would rate Anaplan eight out of ten in general. While the product is mainly for medium and enterprise-level companies, it may be too costly for smaller ones. Overall, I recommend Anaplan to other users. I would rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.

This is a very good product, especially for planning solutions. It’s been in the market for over a decade, and it’s widely adopted by Fortune 500 companies. People are using it and benefiting from it. The key to maximizing its value is not using it in isolation. Instead, once customers understand its capabilities, they should leverage it across departments, starting with finance and then expanding into other areas. It’s a good product, both in terms of stability and return on investment. Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten.

Clients used Anaplan for various purposes. As their needs became more complex, they wondered if a custom solution would be faster and provide more tailored data. Anaplan was clearly useful. However, clients wanted to focus more on data engineering and integration with their processes to track numerous metrics. They were unsure if Anaplan and other IT solutions could fully meet their needs. Thus, they sought a custom solution. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

I would advise potential users to have a good model builder and a solutions architect to transform their business complexity into an Anaplan module or dashboard that fits and works for them. They need to have a great solutions architect, a finder, and the end model builder, which will convert this complexity in Excel and to an equivalent Anaplan report. The biggest lesson I learned using the Anaplan is that everyone can learn to use the Anaplan tool if they have the perseverance to learn. Everything is in Google, and you can Google the logic that you need to apply to a given bug or issue with the module within the system. It's continuous learning, and you have to keep learning and using the Anaplan system every day to be more familiar with the tool. On a scale from one to ten, I would give Anaplan a nine.

I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. This product is an important Enterprise Performance Management tool. It has one of the most powerful calculation engines called Hyperblock.

I would very likely recommend the product to my colleagues.

Anaplan is a great product for large organizations with multiple locations that want to do FP&A. I would give Anaplan a score of eight out of ten.

On a scale of one to ten, I would give Anaplan an eight.

My advice for anybody who is implementing this product is that they need the right partner to implement it. I am certified in Anaplan and I recommend that people use somebody who is certified. They will know the process and understand end-to-end business cycles, so it will be easy for them to implement. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

We are Anaplan partners. We are using the latest update. I'd advise potential users, if they want to search for any reporting tool that will help them for budgeting or forecasting, I would suggest they go to the Anaplan website and try Anaplan instead of other ERPs. I'd rate the product at a six out of ten. There are still many improvements needed, however, I like the product in general.

I would personally recommend Anaplan, especially for anyone who is having issues dealing with bulk loads of Excel data or is experiencing pain in allocation or planning. Anaplan is a one-stop solution and does not require knowledge of a programming language - if you're familiar with Excel functions, that will be sufficient. I would rate this product as eight out of ten.

I would rate this solution 8 out of 10. There is still room for improvement because of the integration issues. If your strategies are more toward driver-based solutions and if you have a very lean implementation approach, Anaplan is the best solution you can get. If you're okay with spending lots of money and aren't SAP-bound, Anaplan is the best in the market right now.

Overall things are moving into the cloud. Of course, COVID taught us a great lesson. We used to go to the office and work because the servers are everything. The whole IT setup was required to work on something. But now the business is easier. You sit here and log into Anaplan and run a supply chain model and see how the whole inventory is optimized. Everything is here in the system. Probably in maybe another five to 10 years, more players will come into this field because of the pandemic. I think Anaplan predicted it a long time ago. That's why everybody's moving into Anaplan, thinking it's safe to run a business on. If you're considering Anaplan, you should assess the tool first in terms of capability. We have seen some use cases where we're not exactly certain Anaplan is the right fit in terms of the procurement area. Some use cases might not really fit into Anaplan. Another feedback is that Anaplan might require a clean dataset to be fed in in order to get the whole thing working. There are some ups and downs when it comes to the capability of other engines with Anaplan, but what Anaplan makes simpler is the ease of use. It's simple and gets the job done.

I would strongly recommend this solution to others. I rate Anaplan an eight out of ten.

Currently, we are working on a partnership agreement with Anaplan. It's one of the areas that I probably haven't explored enough at the moment, however, they have added integration into machine learning as well. The idea of that is you can build out a model and then you can push it through a machine learning model and then you can get an answer out of that. That's an area that I haven't probably spent enough time exploring, however, we're definitely working towards that. If you've only got one person that's going to be building, then you probably want to go with something else, however, if you've got a complex modeling problem, and you've got a lot of people that are interacting with it, your typical kind of forecast and where you want to collect data from loads of different people, and you're just finding that Excel isn't doing it for you, this solution is worth considering. I'd rate the solution a nine out of ten. If there'd be any reason why not a ten, it is just it is that much more expensive. It's a lot more difficult to get more clients onto it. You need to be a certain size to get it, to use it, however, from a stability point of view, from delivering value, et cetera, it's well worth it.

I'm using the latest version. I am not using the beta, however, I am using the live version. I am a consultant and a partner, so I am working on the cloud deployment. I would advise new users to not try to create something too complex in the first year. Keep it simple. It's so powerful. You can do so many incredible things with Anaplan, however, if you try to go there in the first year, you will lose yourself. Anaplan is the type of software that requires collaboration between people, more than ever. You cannot have an Anaplan project if you are not a team and a collaborative team. Previously, with IBM Cognos, this was not the case. I'd rate the solution at a ten out of ten.
