Trend Micro Smart Protection is more costly than competitor solutions, including Kaspersky, Symantec, Bitdefender, and McAfee. I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten.
Any organization would go with a three-year or five-year license requirement, especially if they want to continue with the solution. Instead of going for monthly or yearly licensing models, it is better to go ahead with three-year or five-year licensing models as it can be cheaper.
The solution is a little bit expensive in comparison to other traditional tools like ESET, Symantec, or McAfee; there remains mostly a ten percent difference in cost. The licensing of the solution needs to be done yearly and there are no extra costs.

In terms of pricing, in comparison to products like Kaspersky, Trend Micro's price might appear higher. However, this elevated cost can be rationalized due to the extensive features and detection engines that Trend Micro provides. The price may be a challenge for countries with economic conditions like Sri Lanka. If there was reasonable pricing for Sri Lanka, it would be a plus point. I would rate it a two out of ten.
Whether something is affordable or pricy, is relative. It depends on the value an institution has attached to a capability. For us, security is a premium requirement, I can't say a solution is pricey if we are able to afford it and run it for seven years, I would say it's affordable. We go through a partner to purchase Trend Micro Smart Protection and there is a partner fee. However, it does not impact the price because we get a bundled offer price.

There is an annual subscription license on it. In the next release, there might be monthly payment options. So, people might be able to get it through AWS in the future, but right now for on-prem, it is annual.
I am not the one who is administering this antivirus solution. Therefore, I can't speak about the cost surrounding the product. While there is a cost, I do not know the exact amount.
The pricing is good compared to Symantec and McAfee. However, the features are not in a bundled form but rather, they are in a separate, segregated format. If I want to use other features apart from DLP, I have to purchase extra licenses.

If I'm not mistaken, for three years, for 400 licenses, we paid nearly 15,000 euros. We don't have any additional costs that we have to pay on top of that.
Licensing module is more or less as any other AV. However, they are on little expensive side compare to other products but i believe it is worth it because of the features and quality of the product.
Our organization has paid licensing for three years, which averaged about $4.00 USD per user. We've been satisfied with the licensing. It's quite reasonable.
