What is our primary use case?
OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is a VDI product that lets you remotely access applications that run on either Windows or Linux.
What is most valuable?
The most helpful feature of OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is that it allows you to consume heavy applications that usually have a lot of latency. Through the solution, you can remotely and effectively consume applications because OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) enables a shorter data arrival time to your terminal, which means you're using a very advanced machine that runs the actual application. You can consume it remotely on your simple computer.
I also like that the solution is fast and has a friendly UI.
Another great feature of OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is session freeze, which allows you to freeze your session and resume it wherever and whenever. For example, I'm doing my work at the office, and then I freeze the session, go home, and log into a different computer or mobile device. I can continue the session where I left it, so that's a handy feature of OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX).
What needs improvement?
An area for improvement in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is the installation process because you need some technical knowledge to install it. Implementing the solution requires knowledge and understanding, so if you're a user, you'd need IT assistance to set up OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX).
What's lacking in OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) is a help portal for users to ask questions and seek assistance. The website has a standard FAQs page, but I would like more articles and online material, so you can deal with questions and some of the issues that arise rather than dealing with customer support. I want a portal or online system similar to what Microsoft provides for Microsoft Office products.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
My company still uses Citrix, but because it has very poor latency as a VDI solution and can't consume heavy applications, it started using OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) with Citrix. My company has heavy applications and requires a lot of graphic processing, so it's using OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX).

What other advice do I have?
My company represents OpenText here in Israel as a partner.
OpenText Exceed TurboX (ETX) has a hybrid cloud deployment. It's a cloud product, so I access it remotely on a browser. Still, you need to install the application server next to the application you want to externalize, so it's a hybrid installation. You need an on-premise installation to access the software you are trying to externalize, but the actual consumption is on the cloud through the web server.

About ten people, primarily engineers and managers, use the solution within the company.
