Can always access reports through intuitive dashboards that support diverse data connections
I can't specifically say how Amazon QuickSight could be improved since I focus more on using it and leveraging its functionalities. However, I could invest additional time to explore possible feedback from customers regarding their challenges. As cloud engineers, our capacity to improve is limited since AWS manages the services, but I would be open to feedback. I'm aware there are minor details that AWS could enhance, such as optimizing costs for beginners or small startups, which can be steep when trying to take Amazon QuickSight into production. Many have noticed that AWS services greatly benefit well-established companies, while startups struggle with costs as they transition data out of AWS. Understanding how AWS charges for Amazon QuickSight usage is critical for all users wanting to visualize their data effectively.

Modern analytics tool enhances user interactions with neat visualizations for improved decision-making
One area for improvement could be in offering more advanced features even in the open-source edition or making the paid versions more cost-effective. Data scalability, especially if the data grows, requires manual infrastructure management, which could be improved. Increased customization and visualization options in the open-source edition would be beneficial. Additionally, it might be helpful if more complex queries and stored procedures were supported.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Amazon QuickSight has an interactive dashboard that is beautiful and user-friendly, with beautiful colors and good icons that are easy to identify, allowing users to click, drag and drop, and extract data without facing complexity or a terminal-based interface."
"Easily able to connect with our other services and easy to manage."
"There is no REVIEW content provided to evaluate."
"From an analytics perspective, it's really good for self-service analytics."
"Interactive dashboards do help with data analysis."
"It helped the managers to visualize the data activities."
"The graph charts, pie charts, and box plots are valuable."
"I like that with Amazon QuickSight, you don't need to install an app to use its services. With other BI tools, you need to install the app, so Amazon QuickSight is better for me in this area."
"I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its interface, which is used to query data into Metabase. I think it is very useful and handy for a novice."
"Metabase's key advantage is its modern approach to business intelligence."
"It is easy for a new user to learn the tool."

Cons

"The solution must be more user-friendly."
"There should be better connectors for different data sets."
"Amazon QuickSight could be improved by embedding AI features. For example, making automation for filling missing data or reformatting incorrect data formats, and making date corrections."
"One area is that integrating data from different sources into QuickSight can be a bit tricky, especially with Amazon Connect. To get data flowing, you need to use two additional services and configure them correctly."
"Amazon QuickSight's visualization could be improved."
"I just want a few more features to be added."
"I don't want to say very positive at the moment about the pricing of Amazon QuickSight because my initial understanding is that it's not an easy one to adapt, but the choices are there."
"Compared to Power BI, I felt QuickSight lacks some features, like delayed drill-downs. Drill-downs were the main area where we found QuickSight lacking."
"One area for improvement could be in offering more advanced features even in the open-source edition or making the paid versions more cost-effective."
"The tool must be made more user-friendly."
"The solution could provide more customization."
"I think there is a need to add a few more advanced visuals in the tool. There are a standard set of visuals in the tool which are available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is not affordable."
"I wouldn't say that it is an expensive product, but to stay competitive they would need to bring down the prices."
"The standard edition is free to use for exploration purposes while the enterprise edition needs to be paid for. The pricing for this solution is very reasonable."

"The product pricing is better than other vendors."
"A highly affordable cost structure with fixed membership and timeframe basis options."
