Can always access reports through intuitive dashboards that support diverse data connections
I can't specifically say how Amazon QuickSight could be improved since I focus more on using it and leveraging its functionalities. However, I could invest additional time to explore possible feedback from customers regarding their challenges. As cloud engineers, our capacity to improve is limited since AWS manages the services, but I would be open to feedback. I'm aware there are minor details that AWS could enhance, such as optimizing costs for beginners or small startups, which can be steep when trying to take Amazon QuickSight into production. Many have noticed that AWS services greatly benefit well-established companies, while startups struggle with costs as they transition data out of AWS. Understanding how AWS charges for Amazon QuickSight usage is critical for all users wanting to visualize their data effectively.

Modern analytics tool enhances user interactions with neat visualizations for improved decision-making
One area for improvement could be in offering more advanced features even in the open-source edition or making the paid versions more cost-effective. Data scalability, especially if the data grows, requires manual infrastructure management, which could be improved. Increased customization and visualization options in the open-source edition would be beneficial. Additionally, it might be helpful if more complex queries and stored procedures were supported.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Amazon QuickSight can provide insights from the available data. It supports various rule types. We get the options of machine learning and insights, which are not available in other intelligence tools. It is easier to use, more stable, and cheaper than other solutions."
"Amazon QuickSight has an interactive dashboard that is beautiful and user-friendly, with beautiful colors and good icons that are easy to identify, allowing users to click, drag and drop, and extract data without facing complexity or a terminal-based interface."
"I like that with Amazon QuickSight, you don't need to install an app to use its services. With other BI tools, you need to install the app, so Amazon QuickSight is better for me in this area."
"Amazon QuickSight is a data visualization tool that is a major component in business intelligence to extract insights from the data warehouse, enabling senior managers to have a clear vision about the data, clients, and organization to make major business decisions or strategic decisions about improving the business."
"For my current environment, Amazon QuickSight is the best, though it won't be the best for everybody."
"It works well with the AWS ecosystem."
"Interactive dashboards do help with data analysis."
"We were selecting it for scalability, but we didn't get that far."
"Metabase's key advantage is its modern approach to business intelligence."

"I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten."

Cons

"Pricing could be improved."
"Amazon QuickSight has minimal features. The feature set can be improved to allow you to create good production-ready dashboards. This does not happen with QuickSite, it needs to mature to be used in production."
"QuickSight is gradually adding new features, but it is not as mature as some of the other products on the market such as Tableau or Power BI."
"It should support integration with Python or R."
"The product has some storage and SPICE data issues."
"I just want a few more features to be added."
"It's not ideal for reports that are more complex."
"An area for improvement in Amazon QuickSight is storage. Data cleanup also needs improvement because I'm experiencing errors when cleaning the data. Amazon QuickSight needs video tutorials showing its different functions and purposes."
"The tool must be made more user-friendly."
"One area for improvement could be in offering more advanced features even in the open-source edition or making the paid versions more cost-effective."
"The solution could provide more customization."
"I think there is a need to add a few more advanced visuals in the tool. There are a standard set of visuals in the tool which are available."

Pricing and Cost Advice
