Inexpensive, easy to configure, good support, and it is easy to scale up when needed
The most valuable feature is the interface, which is very nice to work with. Whether you're working on the appliance itself, or you're working on the cloud, it is basically the same interface. It got to the point where when we needed to recover a file, we didn't look at the backup solution anymore. Instead, we went right to the Datto Backupify. Using Backupify took our time to recover from probably four days to 20 minutes. With this device, you're capable of logging into the interface or through an IP address to access the data that is stored on it. Recovery can be just a matter of spinning up a virtual machine or doing a full bare metal recovery, replacing the entire hardware-based server.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

"Technical support in Veeam is good."
"Overall, the solution is okay, the way the system is built is very good, the product offers good stability, the solution is scalable, we have found the technical support to be helpful, and the pricing of the solution is very reasonable and not expensive."
"The ease of use is great and the integrations with the storage vendors are useful, with snapshot capabilities and similar features, and the setup was straightforward, making it a stable solution with great scalability."

Cons

"The device does not allow you to do multiple backups over the whole environment."
"The device does not allow you to do multiple backups over the whole environment."
"We attempted to use it for our DRP, however, we found it too expensive and complex, so we decided to use it just for backup."
"It would be a great improvement to be able to recover a VM straight to on-prem."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."
"Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
"We have found that there is a limitation in this solution where it only takes the backup of users who are using Office 365 Enterprise email IDs. We have many users in management and approximately 50 other users who are using Office 365 of which Veeam is able to capture the backup. However, for the other users who are on the local email server at that time, the solution is not able to capture the backup."
"The cost is a bit on the high side."
"Support is quite bad. They advise too late. When we call for support, it really does take far too long for a response."
"If you use a device to back up with compression and duplication, the solution doesn't work."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The costs were about $1,000 USD to buy the unit in the first place, and then between $250 and $300 per year for support."
"It is not the cheapest solution in the market."
"The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive."
"There is a license required for this solution and we pay annually."
"The cost of Veeam Backup is $28 per user for one year."
"I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower."
"We looked at a few cloud options. When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything."
"Its price is a little bit high, but it is a fantastic solution. It is more expensive than NetApp."
"For the number of users and amount of storage you receive, it is not expensive."
