Compatible, cost-effective, and highly customizable
There is a huge scope for improvement for any good product in the market. Check Point services and antivirus solutions can improve their customer offerings by offering various discounts in their subscription model and they can also reconsider their pricing model as well. If certain cost reductions can happen and can take place, then it is going to be ultimately very good for medium enterprises like us. Also, we are requesting the customer service and the business team of Check Point to have more and more features and improved packages to increase the customer experience. We would be grateful to the entire Check Point team if we could get some discounts and also some extended trial periods.

Easy to set up with good behavior-based analysis but needs a single-click recovery option
Most organizations are currently looking for a scheduled scan to meet their compliance needs. Other players like Symantec and Trend Micro, FireEye, et cetera, are still providing the signature-based regular scheduled scans also, which is not available in CrowdStrike. That is one parameter that we feel should be there in CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is only working on the dynamic or the files under execution. CrowdStrike is not scanning the static files. The product could be more accurate in terms of performance. We'd like to have a single-click recovery option. With some machines getting corrupted by malware, we need an easy way to start with a blank slate if things happen. That one feature should be there in the EDR.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Check Point Antivirus is easy to configure."
"A very good and robust antivirus solution."
"There is a lot of documentation to be able to use this security feature in the best way using the best practices indicated by the manufacturer."
"It has blocked many malware attacks aiming to corrupt and damage company data."
"The solution does a pretty good job and is easy to use. I am the person maintaining the tool and only one person is required to maintain it. Their configuration portal is user-friendly and anyone can crack it with a little bit of knowledge."
"It has an inbuilt AI system that helps in diffusing the virus in a proactive manner and protects the system from getting damaged at the worst level."
"The solution offers multiple features in one solution, along with data detection."
"Regular email alerts are beneficial."
"The EDR and XDR features have been most valuable."
"It has an extremely low footprint, so it has got minimum impact on the user end points in terms of CPU and memory usage."
"Scalability hasn't been an issue for us."
"The detection and response console is the most valuable feature."
"I like the overall reports of this solution. They are crisp, and to the point."
"The stability is good; we haven't experienced any glitches or bugs."
"We have a small IT Team, and this allows us to get sleep at night, knowing that someone else is taking care of any incidents that occur."
"I like the detection rates of mobile threats."

Cons

"One aspect that could see enhancement is the user interface."
"I would prefer it if this solution was cheaper for everybody to buy it and enjoy these wonderful and distinguished characteristics."
"Check Point should always focus on emerging business requirements and should always be working proactively in meeting the requirements of clientele and users in a timely manner."
"The antivirus could be improved in terms of the resources it consumes, particularly regarding CPU and memory usage. We've encountered issues with some of our firewalls, leading us to turn off the antivirus feature due to its heavy resource consumption."
"One of the most frequent problems that Check Point Antivirus presents is that some antivirus updates fail continuously."
"We would like to see better guides in the future with more concrete examples of the best practices."
"Filtering the websites that can be visited is important also as there's always a chance to come by sites that, just by clicking, will download malicious threats."
"Check Point Antivirus' performance could be faster. It needs to include app-based support to upload screenshots of issues. It needs to add timely and regular updates. The dashboards and reporting features need to offer more efficiency."
"I have experience with a product called SentinelOne, which has a feature that allows for the customization of query languages. I would like to see such a feature for CloudStrike."
"The dashboard area must be improved. We have integration with Splunk, and we are creating a dashboard there. Their dashboard area must be up to date. It should have more details and more options to create the reports and things like that."
"CrowdStrike costs a little more than its competitors."
"A year and a half ago or more, if you put in a support request by email, then it wasn't timely addressed. It could be a day to three days before you received a response, which was a bit frustrating. There was a lot of customer feedback around this issue, which has been greatly refined."
"CrowdStrike Suites and the way that it bundles things can be a bit challenging. It should be easier to integrate with the other stuff that they sell or be included with what they sell. We have one piece, then they are talking about another piece on vulnerability management all of the sudden, and we don't own that piece. We can see it in the console, but nothing shows up. It simply appears within the tool as an option, but we can't use it without purchasing it."
"CrowdStrike Falcon could improve if it became an XDR. When we look only to an end-point, we lost the context of the environment. I know it's another line of design of the product. However, if CrowdStrike becomes an XDR, it could be very good."
"If CrowdStrike can further expand its support for XDR compatibility, that would give it an edge over all the other competing new products."
"Enhancements in reporting and forensic analysis could benefit the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Check Point Antivirus is the most economical solution."
"Check Point Antivirus is a good solution, but it's a little costly."
"Check Point Antivirus is an expensive solution, especially for clients that don't have as many endpoints. Check Point Antivirus has a free trial for one month, and within the trial period, there's no limit to the number of endpoints it can support, but when the trial expires, you'll have to buy the license, which covers one year. You can't buy a license for the solution without being a Check Point partner first."
"The pricing is very expensive. You need to buy the appliance and subscription as well."
"Choosing the correct set of licenses is essential because, without the additional software blade licenses, the Check Point gateways are just a stateful firewall."
"We are paying 2,50,000 Sri Lankan Rupees annually which is the fixed charge."
"All I can say about the licensing cost is that it's negotiable."
"CrowdStrike Falcon can be more expensive than some competitors, and its base price doesn't cover every feature."
"The more endpoints an organization adds the cheaper the cost."
"The pricing on CrowdStrike is per license. It was about $42 per seat yearly."
"The pricing and licensing are fairly good. It is definitely not a cheap product, but I have felt that it is worth the money that we spent. So, we have discussed it in the past, and were like, "Yes, it is probably pricier than some other solutions, but we also feel they really are the leader. We are very comfortable with their level of expertise. So, it's kind of worth the price that we pay.""
"CrowdStrike Falcon is more expensive than other EDR solutions with similar features."
"We pay between $30-50 per user for a yearly license, which is more expensive than SentinelOne or Bitdefender. However, CrowdStrike gives better value for money."
"Crowdstrike Falcon is relatively cheap."
