Easy to set up with good behavior-based analysis but needs a single-click recovery option
Most organizations are currently looking for a scheduled scan to meet their compliance needs. Other players like Symantec and Trend Micro, FireEye, et cetera, are still providing the signature-based regular scheduled scans also, which is not available in CrowdStrike. That is one parameter that we feel should be there in CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is only working on the dynamic or the files under execution. CrowdStrike is not scanning the static files. The product could be more accurate in terms of performance. We'd like to have a single-click recovery option. With some machines getting corrupted by malware, we need an easy way to start with a blank slate if things happen. That one feature should be there in the EDR.

Has a valuable IP tracing feature, but is an expensive solution
We use this solution for authorization and more on the false positive verification IP tracing is the most valuable feature. The technical support needs improvement.  I have been using VMRay for two and a half years. The technical support team is not good.  Negative The initial setup is…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Scalability hasn't been an issue for us."
"CrowdStrike is deployed on every workstation, so policy changes can be enforced on all of them. It lowers the manual work on each of the workstations. It has helped us manage device usage in our environment."
"It seems to do a pretty good job of protecting the host. It offers good insights that it gives you when it has a detection. It's pretty incredible."
"Easy to use, intelligent, and stable threat detection software."
"I like the feature called RTC, the remote time connector."
"The CS falcon agent is a lightweight agent compared with other agents of EDR products."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"Because it is security product and acts like an AIML smart product, not merely based on daily/weekly updates and signatures."
"IP tracing is the most valuable feature."

Cons

"In the six months that I have been using CrowdStrike, it has not been able to detect anything."
"The management of the solution could improve."
"Sometimes CrowdStrike changes the GUI, and they need to be better at informing us and providing guidance concerning that."
"They don't really have anything when it comes to scanning attachments."
"Whenever there is a feature release (upgrade) where we push to all the endpoints, it causes something to be blocked without us knowing."
"I want more ability to customize how you summarize the data. The default views are fine, but it would be interesting to be able to customize them based on the kind of data you want to see immediately. This can help the administrator gain an immediate overview and reduce the investigation time."
"I have experience with a product called SentinelOne, which has a feature that allows for the customization of query languages. I would like to see such a feature for CloudStrike."
"CrowdStrike needs to quit making up stuff about its features and functionality to bash its competition."
"The technical support needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our licensing fees were between $50,000 and $60,000 per year, which was pretty expensive for a small business."
"The price is high in comparison to similar brands."
"The cost of CrowdStrike Falcon could be reduced. It is quite expensive if you compare it to other solutions, such as Blue Coat, Symantec, McAfee, or Kaspersky."
"We are on an annual subscription for the solution. There are not any additional costs."
"Years ago, when we bought CrowdStrike, you got everything it had. I was a little concerned when they broke this out into a la carte modules where you can buy EDR, Spotlight, etc., picking and choosing off the menu. I was a little worried that the solution would get watered down. However, I realized in my previous organization when we had the full suite that there were a bunch of features in it that we didn't have time to operationalize. So, I warmed up to it. I get the whole, "Look, you can pick and choose. Okay, everybody buys a steak, but do you want mashed potatoes, or do you want lobster mac and cheese?" So, you can pick the sides that you want, so you can buy the solution that you want and operationalize versus paying a lot of money and getting a bunch of things, but not using 60 percent of the tools in the box."
"The tool is a little bit expensive compared to other products, but I think it's okay owing to its quality."
"The pricing is definitely high but you get what you pay for, and it's not so high that it prices itself out of the market."
"CrowdStrike Falcon can be more expensive than some competitors, and its base price doesn't cover every feature."
"The solution is overly priced."
