Easy to scale, reliable, reasonably price, extremely simple to use, and manage
We are a reseller and primarily use Datto ALTO for disaster recovery It is extremely simple to use, set up, and manage. They do a good job of it.  The interface is very easy. It stayed the same for a long time, which makes it easy to set up and easy to work with. Technical support was superior…

Cloud backups have strengthened ransomware recovery and now protect critical business data
I see several areas where Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery could be improved. First is the architectural design and configuration, along with operational maturity, as well as security integration. The performance of support can definitely be improved with easier on-call support features for P1 and P2 incidents. Getting quick support from the vendor during major recoveries or disasters would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, improving the strength of ransomware protections, addressing critical gaps in deployments, enforcing backup immutability policies, and making disaster recovery testing routine instead of an ad hoc process are important. Validating that I can quickly recover data should be a priority, and improved runbooks or operational maturity platforms would be beneficial for data recovery from critical incidents.

Pros

"It stayed the same for a long time, which makes it easy to set up and easy to work with."
"Previously, we used AppAssure; we switched to Datto ALTO because it was a better product, at the same price point."
"There is a great return on investment with Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery, as I have saved a significant amount of time and money. I need fewer employees to support maintenance requirements, alerts monitoring, and recovery requests."
"Overall, I set it up, configured it, deployed it, and walked away from it; it just chugs away happily."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to boot locally, as well as in Infrascale's cloud. This means that we can either do on-site failover or failover to their cloud."
"The overall ease of use and management of the solution using the Infrascale Dashboard is very good. We haven't had any issues. It is easy to learn. Most of our techs who deal with backups are usually up and running with the dashboard within a day or so. They don't have a lot of buried features where you have to dig through things to get to the resolution. It is pretty self-explanatory."
"Get Infrascale and talk to their team. They will support you, and they will make you the happiest customer out there."
"For this particular client, the solution’s Critical Server Insurance feature that protects physical and virtual servers including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V, was a very big factor as well. They have a bunch of physical servers, as well as virtual. The mix is predominantly virtual. They also have some NAS boxes that we back up using Infrascale."
"The initial setup was straightforward and we received support from the manufacturer."
"The program excels at recovering files and folders, both locally and in the cloud, and their team is extremely responsive, which is crucial for service delivery."

Cons

"Technical support was superior when it was owned independently."
"Technical support was superior when it was owned independently."
"There could be some room for improvement in the on-premises hardware selection. It is hard for them to deploy a lot of different hardware options. Depending on footprint size and overall capabilities, that is where there could be some flexibility in some cases. However, it is not a deal-breaker."
"The customer was probably down for about three days; this was a very difficult situation for us to be in."
"I think they could increase security. I would like to see more features for the section on the viruses and maybe another in reference to two-factor authentication."
"Having options to replicate between their data centers, once the data is offsite, would be an improvement that they could make."
"They set me up as a vendor, not as a client. So sometimes I end up in the wrong portal and I'm doing vendor things instead of client things, and I didn't realize that right away. Once I figured it out I just changed my favorites on my desktop to go to the client-side."
"One of the significant drawbacks of it is due to the fact that we're using two devices to manage the same vCenter, or virtualization environment, and they don't talk to each other."
"The performance of support can definitely be improved with easier on-call support features for P1 and P2 incidents."
"In terms of what I would like to see, it would be to make the solution available across multiple clouds."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you have a small server, it's approximately $100 per month."
"I appreciate their pricing. We went for this solution for its pricing."
"They are incredibly fair and willing to work with their partners to make their pricing work for both partners and the end users."
"The licensing is based on how much data you have plus what appliances you need."
"The licensing structure was changed some time ago and it's a lot more efficient and the price points are a lot better. They're improving and heading in the right direction."
"The pricing is pretty good and competitive with the market. The per-terabyte pricing is very competitive compared to the others."
"It is super competitive. It is worth taking a look at it from a licensing and pricing perspective."
"The pricing is fair, and they are interested in working with MSPs as part of their market."
"The appliances have different prices because of storage, size, and memory. For example, the older machines support more virtual machines, whereas the new one only supports one virtual machine. As we have purchased the later appliances, they have probably been a little bit more expensive because they have to be good enough to keep the business running if the physical server goes down. We learned our lesson from the one that went down when we tried to run products and it wasn't quick enough."
