Simplified interface with good performance but needs monitoring
I need to use PowerStore and Veritas Backup Exec. It is a direct backup to types, and it is supported by my backup. It offers good performance and stability, and it works properly. I am happy with this program. It is still working on aligning with security requirements and data encryption for Amazon or ATAC. It has a lot of functions and security measures, which ensure our backups are secure.

"The solution is very stable, especially if you are using a RAC environment."
"It has the ability to support all kinds of backups. It can be used to back up databases, operating systems, virtual machines, Lotus Notes, and Exchange. It can also do remote image backups for remote sites. It integrates and works with Data Domain. It is an enterprise-class product that can be used for anything and everything across multiple sites and locations. It is also very scalable."
"The most valuable feature of Veritas Backup Exec is the ease of use."
"Veritas helps me manage business-critical backups effectively and has been pretty useful in keeping the functions comfortable."
"Compression is the most valuable feature."
"Veritas Backup Exec is easily managed."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to back up IBM Power virtual servers."
"One nice feature with Backup Exec is mainly that disaster can happen to any server and the disk image can be destroyed very easily. It's also easy to fully email the backup image and restore the server."
"This is a very flexible product, which allows you to back up not only the physical environment but also the cloud environment."
"I like that Backup Exec integrates with Microsoft Exchange. We can retrieve backups from the email boxes."

Cons

"Currently, the NetWorker server only supports the Windows server bare-metal recovery, so an improvement would be built-in support for Linux and UNIX BMR."
"Reporting and support for this product need to be improved. There are multiple bugs that need to be fixed."
"The configuration is too complex."
"It's complex in nature."
"The data storage capabilities should be improved."
"he API side of the solution has certain shortcomings."
"Lacks a restore feature."
"The support is an area with concerns where improvements are required."
"It would be nice to improve the backup acceleration and the fast restoration required."
"There are some issues with the Backup Exec Library and the random picking of tapes."
"There's one common issue with tape backups: the tape might have some space left, but Backup Exec says it's not writable and needs replacement. We've encountered this with multiple clients, so it doesn't seem environment-specific. It's likely related to the software. We usually just format the tape and use it again without much investigation."
"If you keep it for too long and the catalog gets really big, the application tends to move slowly."
"The overall product rating is five out of ten."
"The pricing is an area of improvement and the mode of marketing it."
"One area that needs improvement is SQL backup. Backup Exec doesn't support higher availability."
"In terms of improvements, I think the pricing model could be improved. They charge you by port, for every port that you have even if you're not using all of them."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We use a license without a time term. We just need to buy additional support when needed."
"Dell NetWorker is an expensive solution. None of the backup products are cheap. The licensing model offered is usually a five-year one."
"The price of the solution could be lower, it is expensive."
"It is excellent from the pricing point of view. It is free with Data Protection Suite. Similarly, when you purchase Avamar, Dell EMC NetWorker is free with one terabyte license capacity. Its price is very competitive."
"I have a capacity-based license, but I don't know the exact cost of that license."
"It is inexpensive compared to new products."
"The price is a little on the high side, but it's reliable and provides a good service."
"Dell NetWorker has two types of licensing models."
"It is a mid-range solution on the pricing scale."
"The solution could be more cost-effective."
"Pricing is similar, but they don´t offer the same options/technology."
"I rate the product's pricing a six out of ten."
"The product's price is reasonable."
"It is affordable, but I hope that the price will come down a lot because of other competitors. It is a good price for the customer, but sometimes, the competition provides a much lower price. There are two ways to license it. You can license it per instance or per terabytes of data that we are mocking up. It is enough because it is not so complex. It is good when you're working with customers."
"We are satisfied with the price of this solution."
"The price is reasonable for the features it offers."
