A stable tool that has an easy-to-use GUI that enables quick restoration
We had a security event back in February. We lost all our servers. We probably had 1500 servers. We used NetWorker to recover and restore VMs. It took us almost 30 days to get back up. It was not quick. However, we wouldn't have been able to recover without the product’s help. We first had to restore the NetWorker infrastructure. We used data domains. We imported the catalog. We identified the tier-one VMs we needed and got those restored. We installed security products on them to ensure they were clean. Then, we booted them up. The solution allowed us to recover our infrastructure.

"It is an extremely stable product."
"The best feature of Dell EMC NetWorker is its wide spectrum of available plugins for each and every software that you can back up, such as SAP HANA, Oracle, AXI-based machines, or Dell-based machines. Whatever you want to back up, you can do it with Dell EMC NetWorker. It is a very solid backup software. It is the oldest backup software from EMC, and it comes from Dell EMC's legacy."
"The software implementation takes about 30 minutes."
"It's easy to use."
"The solution is simple to understand."
"The most valuable features of Veritas Backup Exec are the easy-to-use intuitive GUI. It is very easy to understand. I have never lost data and I have been able to recover all the data I need."
"The interface easy to use and it is compatible with most backup devices."

Cons

"The product should provide integration with AWS."
"In the next release, I would like to see better pricing and more integration with the other products in Dell EMC."
"The user interface of this solution could be improved. It is not user friendly and is difficult to understand for new users. New users struggle to understand the logic."
"They need more support for image backups."
"The management of Dell Networker is quite cumbersome."
"Reporting and support for this product need to be improved. There are multiple bugs that need to be fixed."
"It could be more user-friendly."
"The team does not have enough knowledge to support you."
"Veritas Backup Exec should be more user-friendly. The costs should also be much lower and it should be easier to go through the disaster recovery process."
"The solution could improve by having better documentation."
"Firstly, the GUI for 2014 is mostly confusing, i.e., if you need to add any additional technical features, then it doesn't require a change to the GUI."
"The price of this solution is very high."
"In the future, their console should not be complicated."
"Doesn't include disaster recovery."
"We've experienced some performance issues with Backup Exec. The backup jobs take too long to complete."
"I wish that they have an outlet for the other products from Veritas built into the Backup Exec product. For example, Backup Exec does only server backup. Currently, it is possible to read the backup of one other product, but if they can add more products so that you can just go into the dashboard of these other products by clicking on a button within the Backup Exec product, it would be great."
