I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, with ten being very expensive. The pricing is good. We have a yearly license. The total license cost is around 40,000 dollars. That's with add-ons and the total license.
It is affordable, but I hope that the price will come down a lot because of other competitors. It is a good price for the customer, but sometimes, the competition provides a much lower price. There are two ways to license it. You can license it per instance or per terabytes of data that we are mocking up. It is enough because it is not so complex. It is good when you're working with customers.

The pricing is reasonable. It was the main selling factor for us. We pay a yearly licensing fee. I have a gold edition, and it includes all the features that I need - so it's enough for me. I’d rate it a three out of five in terms of the affordability of the usage.

Licensing depends on the part of the backup you're using. If you have SQL backup, then you must have a SQL license. If you have normal data backup, you would require a license for that.

The solution is not the cheapest option. It's pretty pricey. Although I know that we pay for it yearly, in March, I'm not sure of the exact costs. The pricing goes by different types of databases that you're backing up. It's more expensive, for example, if you have an SQL database depending on what you're backing up. I don't recall paying anything beyond a standard licensing fee for the product.

The cost of Veritas is really mid-range for this class of product, I would say. Everything is included in one license and there are no additional, hidden costs.

Licensing is based on the number of ports you have. Even if you aren't using all the ports, you will be charged for them. The license is renewed on a yearly basis and we do pay for support on top of that.
I think setup and management to should be easy for a backup applications, because skill personnel for IT Jobs are scarce these days leaving admins with more work. So Automation and simplicity is the way to go to be able to complete your work. I think cost much be seen in relation to the value of what is being backed up. If you purchased a brand new Mercedes, would you purchase low cost insurance for it?
