Easy to set up with good security and rapidly improving capabilities
In terms of stability, the performance parameters do come into play. It's good on the regular office front, however, on the development side, if somebody is using it in a development environment, they need to make some configuration changes in terms of what directories should be excluded from the real-time scanning. I had to do that kind of stuff. I don't do that with the Microsoft product, for example. It runs, and it scans the entire system with no issues. The solution is stable. Regular updates were available in the product versions. They were updated, and they gave regular signature updates also so that the product checked all the boxes.

Light and powerful solution design; useful to have
My impression is that the initial setup process is quite straightforward. If you know what you're using it for, the initial setup can be quite easy and the solution is not that hard to use. When it comes to the steps taken for the implementation, you would select the OS you're using and when the files are sent to the appliance you check, and in the appliance configuration, it must be like the visual governance environment. You must set up the OS you have so that appliance can scan or analyze your file. To maintain this solution, you must always have at least one all-around person tuning this solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has a clean and clear interface."
"The most valuable feature of ESET Endpoint Security is the antivirus for the endpoints."
"The tools and the features available with this solution are very competitive. It is always updated to prevent upcoming attacks."
"It is absolutely invisible once running."
"The most valuable thing for me is that when I'm using the internet and I reach some site that isn't so secure, or isn't recommended because they don't have a good reputation, ESET will notify me."
"The most valuable feature in ESET Endpoint Security is the game mode to restrict notifications."
"It has been working fine. It lets you know when it finds things. We didn't have any incident where the place had to shut down or was taken over by anything. We haven't had any issues that we know of."
"In terms of stability, I can rate it at nine out of ten."
"The most valuable feature is the protection and the way it works, the technology is what I like the most."
"You have access to a report as to what behaviors the example file entered in the registry."
"The solution extracts an attached file before reaching the user and notifies the user if there's something malicious in the attachment received along with an email."
"Compared to other solutions, it's easy to configure and implement because of the templates. The timing of scanning files is faster."
"The most valuable feature was the EDR, endpoint detection and response."
"FortiSandbox helps us handle unknown threats. Every vendor is competing for who can detect an unknown threat the fastest. Fortinet is competitive in the market."
"It is a stable solution."
"Overall, it works fine. Its interface is also fine."

Cons

"They recently released an EDR integration. I hope they have more AI or intelligence filtering on the EDR events. Even though it has already got AI, but it is quite a different thing. So, they still have room to improve on the EDR part. This is one small piece that they need to improve. Otherwise, it is just fine."
"Its initial setup process could be more straightforward."
"It would be nice to have more features in vulnerability scanning, which I believe will happen eventually."
"The adware module could be improved."
"It would be great to have VIP functions added to the solution in a future release."
"When users renew licenses, they should offer a discount."
"The solution should offer more security surrounding blacklisted websites."
"It can be hard to set up if you need to customize it."
"The integration is limited. The solution needs to offer better integration with multiple vendors."
"For additional features, maybe a form of execution pain files in a non-virtual environment because it has threats that identify when it is being run in a virtual machine."
"The product is good but it could be speedier. In addition, it's quite complex."
"There could be more templates and a higher number of simulated VMs to configure more use cases. Sometimes we need to configure many use cases in many different environments, and if the number of VMs that we configure is limited, we have to remove some and reconfigure the environment if we need another environment."
"Fortinet FortiSandbox should improve its performance and security accuracy to keep competitive with other solutions, such as IBM."
"The initial setup of Fortinet FortiSandbox is complex. You cannot only deploy Fortinet FortiSandbox without deploying the stack of Fortinet solutions. The implementation and integration are challenging tasks with the device and placement in the network. We needed to do POC and offloading testing."
"The initial setup is not too complex but could be easier."
"If updated, Fortinet FortiSandbox could cover other risks."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"The license is annually, and the price is low compared to competitors."
"It probably is less expensive than Sophos."
"The solution costs around $20 or $30 per user per year."
"The pricing can be a bit more flexible."
"The cost of the solution is hard to justify even if the EDR operates well."
"There is a license required to use ESET Endpoint Security."
"Its price is reasonable."
"The price is competitive."
"The solution is affordable."
"The price of Fortinet FortiSandbox is not expensive."
"Fortinet FortiSandbox is a nominally priced product, so I would not say that it is a very cheap tool."
"I rate the product's pricing a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"Altogether, it is about €10,000 for the Sandbox and Email Gateway."
"Fortinet is more reasonable than Palo Alto."
"It is an expensive solution."
