We performed a comparison between Fortinet FortiClient and SentinelOne Singularity Complete based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR."
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up."
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"The setup for FortiClient is really straightforward."
"The connection speed is fast. I can connect quickly at any time, and there are never any interruptions to the FortiClient connection. I could easily code into the client's server with that connection, with no lag."
"It works well and the performance is good."
"There is a lot of documentation available online."
"FortiClient is very easy, useful, and practical."
"The solution offers great stability."
"The VPN connection is the feature that I like the most."
"Having a centralized console is a valuable feature. The Fortinet fabric is also very valuable where all different pieces talk together to secure our network and track the North, South, East, and West movement of files and data through our network."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the user-friendly interface."
"In terms of the engines that SentinelOne uses, it has stopped various scripts from running and it's highlighted lateral movement that we weren't expecting."
"The customer support for this solution is good."
"We opted for SentinelOne because it gives you visibility and control over all the devices on which you have the agent deployed. That is very valuable because, in the end, all the attacks enter only through one gateway, which is usually a user's computer."
"Another valuable feature is that if a machine is infected, one that may infect other computers within the network, we have the capability of segregating that machine in the network so that it remains connected to the internet but is cut off from the other machines in the network. That helps prevent spreading of the infection. That's a very unique feature, one I have not seen in the last 10 to 15 years from any other antivirus program. That's amazing."
"The most valuable aspects of SentinelOne Singularity Complete are the ease of deployment with the Sentinel Agent and the enhanced visibility with Skylight, which provides correlation of logs and all endpoint data in a centralized location."
"SentinelOne is very simple to install and very simple to manage. It's very aggressive, so it does protection well, and it seems to be stopping attacks that other solutions cannot."
"It is a robust solution. It provides great visibility."
"FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting."
"I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components."
"We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team."
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud."
"Detections could be improved."
"I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution."
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."
"The support needs improvement."
"For buying or deploying it with additional features, apart from VPN client, web security, or antivirus, I would like to see the USB key blocking function included in this solution for endpoint security. For endpoint security, you need antivirus and all of the features included in antivirus software these days, web security, and USB key locking feature. If it is implemented in a way that in one package, you have all the primary features needed for security these days, it would be nice. All of those features will probably be additionally charged as it is a web security feature on FortiClient."
"In the next release, I would like to see an additional layer of security added."
"Technical support is awful. Their online response time is not prompt. They should not respond after four or five days. Their support guys are not competent enough. Small issues are taking time."
"Occasionally, the solution may provide a slow connection. In addition, there may be initialization and authorization issues that one may need to take care of while using the solution."
"Sometimes there are issues when we are trying to connect."
"As far as I can tell, the solution only has one single function, so they could expand its functionality."
"The solution could be more secure. I would like to see more safety features."
"The initial setup was probably more complex. The configuration was somewhat unclear."
"We have had one or two occasions when we had to roll back off our Windows machine. Then, we had an issue with SentinelOne where we couldn't let the client make contact with the cloud service anymore. Therefore, the integration with the Windows Service Recovery could be improved in the future."
"The MDM functionality and maturity still need improvement."
"The application management needs improvements, but I understand that they are working on it. We talked to them a few months ago, and it is something they are trying to get up to speed and fix. This way, we will be able to disable critical apps or vulnerable apps through SentinelOne. We will be able to patch applications or disable applications through the Application Management tab."
"SentinelOne is causing a problem with the data service that causes one of our applications to crash randomly. We're still looking for a permanent fix, but we have implemented a temporary workaround that excludes that application from the scan."
"Having an additional logic layer could improve the solution, mainly because I run multiple systems with different layers. For example, if I'm running a very important server with this agent, and that server gets infected, I may not necessarily be sure that I want to shut it down right away. Maybe I want to isolate some of the connectivity but not do the entire security remediation automatedly or curtail network access type of activity."
"In automation, if we could schedule when we run the task and on which systems we want to run the task, it would improve automation."
"Although the SentinelOne firewall seems to offer potential benefits, in reality, it hasn't proven to be very helpful."
"The solution can improve by adding more granular firewall capabilities."
