Simple to get started with and offers integration features in multiple programming languages
The product provides integration features in multiple languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Golang, and all other languages. Google Firebase has documentation, which might seem a bit confusing, but one with decent knowledge can easily explore and get started with Firebase quickly. Before jumping into any cloud infrastructure, the tool should analyze how much it would cost to run the database. Google Firebase provides a certain number of reads and writes per day, which is approximately 40,000 reads and writes. If there are more than 200 to 300 active users per day, there will be plenty of reads and writes to the database. In such a case, one can't use Google Firebase and has to upgrade to Spark, which is where it is based on usage. The tool is fairly simple to get started with. Utilize all the features can get very complicated. One must be a pretty good developer who has a lot of experience to be able to utilize the best features. It gets really complicated over time. The basic functionality and basic usage are easy to use and easy to get started. There are plenty of deprecated versions, and frequently upgrading them causes inconvenience. I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Suitable for OCI environment but needs to improve pricing
We haven’t had any problems with the setup of Oracle. The deployment will take less than seven to ten days since it can give good reports. For deployment, we first need to understand the customer requirements and build the architecture around the deployment. We have the customer sign off on it and then go into the software deployment side. This is the proper life cycle of how to do it in the enterprise space. There are a lot of thoughts around the initial way or how we need to structure and architect the environment. For enterprises, it is a complex process. It will take one to two months to have all the sign-offs before we can go into implementation. It is followed across all the installations. I rate the initial setup of the solution a ten out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has security rules to control database read/write operations in real-time."
"The Realtime Database feature is the most important for us since we are able to see changes in the database the moment they are happening."
"The user interface is very good and easy to navigate."
"Google Firebase is one I like a lot because it gives us a little bit more power and accessibility when it comes to publishing apps a lot quicker and for the needs that we have."
"Allows us to create functions without any infrastructure apart from the Google App Engine."
"Firebase has been helpful in providing analytics and crash insights."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The platform is scalable."
"The product is easy to use and deploy."
"The features allow you to connect the service solutions with the client's requirements. It is user-friendly, easy to navigate and provides assistance."

"The most valuable feature is that it offers several adaptors."
"The pricing isn't too bad."
"Technical support is good. We are partners with Oracle so we are always speaking with them."
"A good feature of the solution is the clear roadmap it provides specifically from Oracle to PC, there are good options to use OTP."
"The initial setup was straightforward."

Cons

"The solution could improve by providing an improved SDK tool and automatic indexing for databases."
"We had some compatibility issues with Elixir."
"The notifications must be made a little bit better."
"If I were to review the service, it would be about paid functionalities, like implementing notifications, is easy, but debugging is not."
"There's always room for improvement in every product, and the major improvement that's needed in Google Firebase is its simplification, particularly for unsavvy users or non-technical users. If you're not tech-savvy, it would be very difficult for you to use the functions of the solution and understand its security rules. If you want even non-technical people to find it easy to use Google Firebase, it should be simplified because the difference between screen-derived management and code-derived management isn't complex, so simplification wouldn't be an issue."
"The tool's support requires improvement."
"I would like to have a facility for testing possible scenarios by writing dummy data and then doing different queries."
"As we are a small team, we have only utilized some features, however, all those features have been very useful, and there is no problem."
"Portability of the VMware environment into the Oracle Cloud should be made more simple."
"The solution is expensive"
"I would like the Oracle Cloud Platform to have a more user-friendly UI similar to Microsoft Azure."
"The product's technical support is an area with shortcomings that need improvement."
"One improvement that would be helpful is the addition of a replication option on their Standard Edition OD service. Currently, this option is not available, which leads many customers to move to the Enterprise edition. However, other cloud service providers, such as Amazon AWS offer replication options at a similar tier. It would be beneficial if Oracle also explored providing this option for their Standard Edition service."
"The initial setup can be a bit complex."
"Amazon AWS has a better solution overall."
"OCI's user interface is awful and needs to be modernized."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is affordable."
"The pricing plans indicate it can get very expensive."
"The solution's price is based on the number of consumers."
"I rate Google Firebase a seven or eight out of ten for pricing."
"I rate the price of Google Firebase a four out of five."
"The product is free."
"The price of Google Firebase is very good."
"The moment you go into volumes, then you work on a pay-per-volume basis."
"The solution is overpriced."
"The pricing is a little bit expensive compared to other products."
"It's not that expensive. I think it's maybe half or one-fourth of our actual on-prem cost, especially in Oracle Data Integrator. It's pretty cheap. Maybe around $30,000 or $40,000 per month."
"It's very expensive compared to AWS."
"Costing depends on if you have an existing license for the application and for the operating system."
"The solution is cheaper compared to Oracle E-Business Suite."
"On a monthly basis, we pay around $2,500 for licensing fees, with no additional costs. We do pay extra licensing for other on-premises solutions, but these are not related to Oracle Cloud Platform."
"Oracle Cloud Platform's pricing is comparable to other solutions, but it is definitely not cheap."
