Protected client experience with good security and a straightforward setup
One of my clients is using GravityZone Business Security, although I do not use it personally. I help manage it for them I can't provide specifics. My client feels protected by it, which is important to me. From an MSP point of view, it is not as efficient as I would like. The ROI is not good…

Microsoft's new Azure Code Signing is causing a lot of issues for us with One Endpoint Security. We currently have two systems in operation, on-prem and SaaS, and many of the agents won't upgrade beyond version B11564 because these newer versions require Azure Code Signing compliance on the endpoint. If we are not up to date with our Windows updates, we don't have this compliance. Irrespective of the Windows version we are running, we have to apply patches to the machines, if the OS is not damaged, to make them compliant. After that, we can upgrade to the latest version of the respective agent. This process also applies to both Deep Security and Workload Security. I have two production servers: one for Windows and another for Mac. These servers are available in both on-premise and SaaS versions. Additionally, I have a test server that is located on-premises. The significant distinction with the SaaS version is the absence of a test server where I can install a new version. This means I can't allow the agents on it to upgrade and then perform testing. In contrast, with the production SaaS version of One Endpoint Security, I have numerous agents transitioning and coming online. It's essential that these agents upgrade to a newer version. Among these agents, there are five or six different versions, not counting the really old ones that have yet to upgrade due to ACS non-compliance. I can't leave the testing phase for an extended period because I still have outdated agents that need to be updated. These agents can't be left hanging while I wait to test the newest version that has just been released. New versions seem to come out every couple of months in the SaaS environment. In the past, when I solely used the on-premises version, I would review security bulletins for the SaaS version to identify any issues. I'm apprehensive about potential future situations involving this, primarily because the majority of our agents now operate on the cloud version. If a problem is discovered, rolling back on those agents would be challenging. It would require careful operation to revert them to a different version. The on-premises version of One Endpoint Security has an update function that allows us to manually update a bunch of servers. For example, if I just turned on a policy, I can force the agents to quickly download the policy and start following the update procedure or update settings. However, this function is not available in the SaaS version. This is because the system cannot communicate with the agent through the firewall. The SaaS version has an automatic update function and an update source entry in the update agents sub-menu, but it does not have a way to force agents to update. This is a problem because we cannot automatically update the agents. We have to manually log in to the machines and give them an update command. Currently, we have no choice but to wait until the agents find the updates themselves.

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is its ease of use."
"My client feels protected by it, which is important to me."
"GravityZone provides information about over-the-air data flow, standalone application security, and the infrastructure architecture required to meet the standalone security requirements of the complete SaaS infrastructure."
"I like that the tool is a bit simple to use. In terms of handling phishing and rate mitigation, it is quite good. The product is stable. I rate it a perfect ten. The solution is scalable. I rate it an eight out of ten, with ten being the highest. The initial setup is straightforward. I have seen a return on investment."
"Offers network security protection. Management and maintenance of this solution is easy."
"The initial setup of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is easy."
"The most valuable feature of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is its efficiency in finding threats, such as viruses and ransomware."
"The ease of deployment via our RMM tool has been good."
"The most valuable feature is that it's normal, and not for a specific server."
"Along with the anti-malware, it has a built-in device control and DLP."
"The product offers almost all of the features the client expects from such a solution."
"One of the better features, in my opinion, is that it also makes use of a web reputation. For example, if someone accidentally clicks on a link in an email that leads to a malicious website, they will block it."
"The solution is stable and integrated into the system quite well."
"It is easy to learn. In just two or three hours, our system administrator could learn how to use it. It is easy to integrate and easy to manage."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the endpoint security with the zero-day vulnerability. They have an on-premise sandboxing solution which prevents any of those zero-day vulnerability issues."
"Workload security now has a feature called Activity Monitor for each endpoint."

Cons

"Upgrades are heavy and require back up, making you feel like you're doing a fresh installation of this solution. Configuration can also be quite tedious if you want it to be configured based on your needs."
"Its performance can be better. It doesn't work very well for ransomware. That's why we are trying to evaluate other products."
"If an enterprise already has existing security features or products, GravityZone Business Security could integrate with them. This will make it a cost-effective solution without replacing their current setup."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Elite could improve by having a patch management function to become part of the solution. For now, it's a separate module subscription. For example, in my company, all the endpoints are sending the information about network attacks and detected malware, to the GravityZone console, and from the console, you can send all these alerts, to another solution, such as Syslog. This is a very important point for us because, this architecture, is similar to having hundreds of threat sensors in the company. The endpoint is a threat sensor and this is very important. From a security perspective, I'm not expecting anything more. However, I'm expecting patch management to become part of GravityZone, and not a separate subscription. This would be a large benefit to us."
"From an administration perspective, the tool lacks functionalities related to RMM and MDM. The tool should offer add-ons, like RMM and MDM."
"There could be more security features included in the product."
"Technical support could always be improved."
"From an MSP point of view, it is not as efficient as I would like."
"There were challenges in uninstalling the Trend Micro solution from certain endpoints."
"It should have a single agent as competitors are offering."
"The integration is lacking in Trend Micro Apex One. It does not integrate well with Microsoft p solutions. For example, with Office 365, we have to buy another solution for mail protection. That's why we are assessing Microsoft Defender 365 because we have an email from Microsoft, an endpoint from Microsoft, and we use Windows systems."
"We're actually looking to upgrade to more sophisticated ADL products. We need a more sophisticated endpoint. We need to have the ability to automate those instant response processes."
"The customization has room for improvement."
"The solution could be more proactive by using AI to assess the production landscape and compete with other products."
"Some of the updates still require a complete reboot of the system."
"We have found that this product is a bit heavy on the endpoints."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing depends on the features selected but it is the most inexpensive option in the market."
"The pricing is within the market price range compared to other solutions. It's quite affordable."
"There is a license needed to use this solution and it can be purchased for one, two, or three years."
"We have to purchase licenses for the use of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite. We started out with approximately 150 licenses and now we have over 1,000. You can purchase licenses annually or every three years."
"The price of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is very good. We are on a three-year license, and the third year was free."
"We pay approximately $1 per device per month for Bitdefender GravityZone Elite. There is no additional cost for the solution."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is an affordable solution."
"Its subscription is yearly."
"The SaaS version is competitively priced and amazingly easy to set up."
"We have a yearly subscription. Our subscription includes all solutions of Apex One, such as endpoint protection, DLP, and ransomware protection. We are paying around $30 for each."
"There is an annual license."
"The license is expensive but it is a complete solution."
"The price of the solution is fine."
"Currently, the price for Trend Micro Apex One is good and there are no extra costs attached."
"On a scale of one to ten with ten being the most expensive, Apex One is an eight."
"If I remember correctly, the cost is approximately four and a half thousand per year."
