We performed a comparison between Mendix and Zoho Creator based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Rapid Application Development Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Mendix has made a great deal of effort to provide its developers a healthy, modern environment for developing. First of all, it adopts Agile methodology by creating a SCRUM-based app where you can handle your user stories. Next comes version control, which really allows multiple team members to collaborate quite easily. And last but not least, Mendix modeler, which is your IDE for developing Mendix apps."
"It is a development platform which assists in accelerating your developmental lifecycle. This is one of its most valuable features. This solution also offers a good set of components that are readily available."
"There is a free version of the solution you can use."
"Mendix code and coding logic are very visual. It looks like a flow chart rather than lines of code. Rapid development is what drew us to Mendix."
"It is low code, where the developers can still develop in Java. That to us is very appealing."
"The pricing is very clear, with no hidden fees."
"We also use Mendix Enterprise Integration for complex business logic. It's a low-code platform, so we run Mendix in the Mendix Cloud."
"The initial setup is easy."
"It is a very, very scalable tool."
"I just like the simplicity of it."
"The product’s MIS feature is very valuable to us."
"Zoho Creator is a flexible and powerful solution. I like the tool's advanced modification feature which helps to modify its layout and setup scripts."
"It is very easy to build applications on the product."
"Can access information from other Zoho packages and you can write custom scripts."
"Zoho Creator boasts a multitude of impressive features, but one of the most outstanding is its flexibility in creating interactive reports and pages. With Zoho Creator, users have the ability to utilize HTML and CSS to create visually appealing pages that are rich in information, utilizing data from the system itself. This exceptional feature provides a remarkable advantage and adds immense value to Zoho Creator."
"Zoho Creator is easy to design and accessible for any business purpose. The solution is priced low and helps you meet business requirements. You can write a script based on requirements and trigger it whereby the customer will receive notifications. It is a customizable application."
"The platform still has many areas for improvement. If I compare apples to apples, the PWA features of Mendix could be improved, for example, I wouldn't recommend creating a B2C or B2B marketplace or web portals on Mendix, but there's a tendency for people to still do it through the systems provided by my company, particularly implement B2B or B2C marketplace, versus using eBay or Shopify. On the web portal front, Mendix still needs to improve."
"There's no direct tech support."
"Needs multiple database connections so an app can directly read/write data to/from multiple databases. This would enable easy splitting of big applications that have complex entity relationships."
"We'd like to be able to write in C Sharp to develop code for Mendix."
"There is always a layer of custom code required."
"While the community is great, they need to work on making their direct technical support services better."
"It is expensive."
"You need experienced programmers and developers to understand this solution."
"Zoho provides different channels for support, like chat and email. There's also a multi-brand support self-service support portal, but it's time-consuming to deal with it. If we create a portal on Zoho, we need to pay an additional cost per user. It's a flexible platform, but there are limitations, such as the EBI. We need to purchase additional EBIs and other features that some businesses require. If we are developing complex applications, we need to set up many virtual automation and use API calls."
"I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten. So some room for improvement as well for scalability."
"Zoho Creator could benefit from improvement in regard to the user interface and user experience of the forms. The forms themselves could benefit from being made more interactive, with increased flexibility and customization options for both developers and users. This would allow for a more engaging experience when interacting with the forms and provide more opportunities for customization to meet individual needs and preferences."
"Could have more pre-built integrations for pulling data from the wider Zoho ecosystem as well as other systems."
"When you're developing database-type applications, there is no way to see the actual database tables. They call them forms, and I don't like that. Zoho should also provide better user guides."
"I would like to see a simpler layout and interface. I would also like to see Zoho CRM and Zoho Campaigns integrated with the product."
"They should allow for more UI customization."
"Zoho Creator's UX design needs to be improved."
